Landal North Lakes Reviews

"Exceptional stay. Amazing views, really great, clean accommodation. A bit out of the way but that’s part of the appeal"
Richard - Aug 2022
"Very good hosts"
Steven - Jul 2022
"Had a fabulous break away staying in the Darwin lodge. The only negative was having to leave! It was a real treat and we will be back."
Sarah - Jul 2022
"Amazing lodge"
Paula - Jul 2022
"Absolutely incredible place"
Mandy - Jul 2022
"Absolutely incredible photos don’t do it justice"
Mandy - Jul 2022
"Beautiful lodge set in tranquil surroundings. Ideal if you are looking for a quiet time away."
John - Jul 2022
"If Carlsberg did lodges, this would be it! Absolutely stunning lodge internally and externally. Everything is thought of for the stay, even down to all the utensils that you didn’t know you may need. One of the comfiest beds I have stayed in. Even the lights in the roof for the outside deck is that certain touch of luxury that has been thought of. Every little aspect of the stay has been thought exceptionally. The food at the restaurant was amazing as well as the butchers. Loved it so much I have booked again (as a surprise) for my husbands birthday in December for 3 nights again?"
Jenna - Jul 2022
"We have stayed in many lodges over the years and this is in the top one or two absolutely amazing and the pictures do not do it justice. Immaculately clean, very comfortable beds, every thing you need in a kitchen and a fan included. We always over pack but you don’t need to take kitchen cleaner, cloths, bin bags, dishwasher tablets enough for one a day. Milk, bread, butter and jam more than enough of these. Hot tub looked after on a daily basis. Surroundings are beautiful, well laid out with mounds between each lodge, so you are not overlooked and peaceful. Only niggles and not one that the lodges could change, the road or rail noise can be loud early in the morning, two of us were woken early on the first morning, but a set of ear plugs stopped one of us waking the following morning and the other slept through with no issues. I will say that other in our party didn’t wake and everyone said they felt they had slept better at the lodge than they had for a long time. You cannot hear the road at any other times. Shower pressure isn’t the best but does its job. Overall, brilliant stay and will be back again that’s for sure, may be even later this year. PS please use the chopping boards in the kitchen, there are lots of them and sadly not everyone has which is a real shame for the owners."

"Lodge was stunning. Fabulous holiday."
Emma - Jul 2022
"Relaxing and peaceful."
Wendy - Aug 2020
"Beautiful lodge in a lovely secluded area. Fantastic hot tub which we used every day and sauna. We visited Keswick, Buttermere and Coniston water on own visit to the Lake District."
Paul - Aug 2020
"We wanted a quiet family break and it was exactly how wished"
Julie - Aug 2020
"We stayed in the Brayton lodge for a one week stay. The lodge itself was amazing. It was really well furnished, equipped and decorated. The space was clean and bright and had everything that we needed. The facilities, particularly the hot tub and smart TV, were a real bonus and added an extra special touch. The only point to note is that it is a shame to have two smart TVs but the one included in the bedroom is not and is quite small for the size of the bedroom."
Jacob - Aug 2020
"Booked again already...."
Ian - Aug 2020
"An amazing holiday at a perfect lodge!"
Ian - Aug 2020
"We had the most relaxing weekend . The Darwin lodge is amazing. We really enjoyed the sauna and hot tub . We usually stay in the wellington lodge with family but this was just for the two of us and it definitely lived up to our expectations."
Gail - Aug 2020
"Lovely only downside was the hot tub was unbearably hot when the jets were turned on and we could not adjust the temperature not sure if it is due to COVID or normally like that so didnt enjoy the hot tub like we have done on other sites. Lovely site though would recommend"
Denise - Aug 2020
"I have already recommended to several people who have already booked.
We will be back.

If I was to moan about anything due to the uncertain weather in the lakes, it would be nice for the hot tub in the wellingtons to be undercover like the other lodges. But it didnt impact our holiday."
Carrie-anne - Aug 2020
"Excellent value and location "
Alan - Aug 2020
"Such an amazing staycation for me and my lady. We enjoyed all of the facilities which were luxurious and easy to use. We would be coming back."
Usman - Jul 2020
"Fabulous overall holiday experience with a luxury feel, I couldn't imagine what else you could ask for. Wonderful!"
Robert - Jul 2020
"Great lodges total luxury and we will return. Site immaculate and beautiful. Restaurant limited opening a pain especially while local alternatives restricted ?! Not been able to take afternoon tea without booking although the place was emptyIsh was rediculous ! Also service was on the slow side while evening dining. Adjacent golf course a bonus."
Richard - Jul 2020
"what can I say amazing."
Kenneth - Jul 2020
"Fantastic little mini break."
Katarina - Jul 2020
"Fantastic lodge. Has everything you need. Thoroughly recommend. Lovely site, very peaceful. Hot tub was fantastic."
June - Jul 2020
"The most amazing and relaxing weekend! Stayed at the Darwin retreat to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and couldnt fault it! The facilities are outstanding, especially the hot tub, sauna and steam room! We ate at the Lakeside restaurant a couple of times and the food was great, but we also loved the in-lodge delivery service. Staff were lovely and went out of their way to make sure we had the best stay. We will definitely be back!!!"
Isabella - Jul 2020
"In all the holiday was very good the only disappointment was the on site takeaway we had it on our last night after reading the reviews, unfortunately when we got it it was very poor the worst thing was the chips they were dark brown and really thin and soft with not much taste Went in the bin , the lasagna was ok , the lamb Kebab was just below average very disappointing but the toffee pudding and ice cream was really nice This cost £40 all in with tip but overall was not worth it , having the option to get a BBQ at the lodge would be good , not sure if you are aloud due to fire regulations or not ?"
Iain - Jul 2020
"I didnt give 10 for cleaniness because some of pyrex dishes in cupboard were dirty and finger prints on windows"
Christine - Jul 2020
"Beautiful lodge, great place to get away!"
Aleasha - Jul 2020
"The most beautiful lodge. We stayed in the Wordsworth for my 40th Birthday plus a surprise Engagement! The Lodge is amazing, so luxurious with everything you could possibly need. It is so private and the hot tub was amazing with the extra touch of an outside TV! Once you are settled you are just left to enjoy your time. The food in the restaurant was fantastic and the staff were extremely helpful. Will most definitely return and would 100% recommend to anyone."

Attractions Near Landal North Lakes

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Landal North Lakes. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 6 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 16 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 21 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 22 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 25 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Castle Douglas - DG7 1TJ
about 27 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
Laggan Outdoor - DG7 3NQ
about 39 Miles

An outdoor activity center suitable for families. Featuring one of Europe's longest zip wires, jeep driving, grass sledging, archery, outdoor scooters. A mix of fun and adreneline rides and a lot more.
