Heathside Lodges in Suffolk will appeal to those looking for a peaceful base to explore the local area.  With a secluded setting these lodges have much to offer couples and families wanting a restful holiday but close enough to local towns should you want to get out and explore.  The market towns of Southwold, Aldeburgh and Walberswick are within reach for days out with a range of shops and restaurants.

The accommodation has been well designed and we like the Blyth Lodge for couples which sleeps 2 and comes with a private outdoor hot tub.  This lovely lodge also has mod cons including wifi access and flatscreen TV with freeview.  The spacious living area is ideal for relaxing and the french doors leading to the private decking are a nice touch.

The Waveney Lodge is slightly larger and sleeps 4 making it a good choice for both couples and families.  Brand new for 2011 this lodge is sure to be popular with a spacious open plan living area, private decking and outdoor hot tub.  All of the lodges are also double glazed making them a cosy choice even in the colder months. And of course the outdoor hot tub can be enjoyed in all weathers - even snow!

The Deben Lodge is also new for 2011 and is the largest of the lodges.  Sleeping 6 adults this is a spacious lodge with two double bedrooms and one twin.  One of the doubles has an en suite bathroom and there is also a family bathroom within the lodge.  With plenty of mod cons including microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer the Deben Lodge provides a comfortable base for your stay.  You will also enjoy use of your own private outdoor hot tub, as well as a balcony with patio furniture.

The local area is perfect for exploring. Some recommended days out include the Suffolk Odyssey Llamas in Halesworth less than 3 miles from the lodges, and Africa Alive in Lowestoft less than 10 miles away.

Would have been better to have walk-in shower for elderly mother - couldn't use bath with overhead shower -no handrail.

Liked the lodges. A pity they had not been arranged slightly at an angle to each other which would have increased privacy and not given all residents a straight line view along all of the balconies.

All really good, only slight request would be to block in decking side panel otherwise you looked straight on to next doors hot tub & they into ours. Got round it by putting the hot tub lid there!

The lodge was fabulous, with plenty of space and the facilities (including the hot tub) were excellent. We had a problem on the first night getting the DVD player to work - the remote control was very confusing - but after that we didn't really want to watch the telly anyway.

The lodge was lovely and a great hot tub. Very comfortable for 6 of us. Lodges are a bit close together so not private. The owner made sure we realised it costs a lot of money to refill the hot tub every change of user!! He also hammered the point home of not leaving the outside lights on and also said he was worried that if all 6 of us got into the hot tub the water may come out over the top due to the size of us!

Fantastic weekend
Rebecca
Was a perfect getaway for my birthday. Both me and my partner needed a nice peaceful weekend away. Couldn't fault the location or the lodge. Was better than what i could ever imagine it would be. Only downfall was more utensils for cooking. While we were there we were already talking about booking again.
Zoe
Beautiful lodge, decorated to such a high standard, very comfortable. In a very quiet location, which is stunning for a peaceful break. The three donkeys are an added bonus. Very helpful staff. Immaculate site, and the private hot tubs are gorgeous.
Lennie
We came and stayed for short weekend was lovely with 4 kids under 5 we loved it and will book for next year 100 per cent , my brother and brother in law are also in the process of booking , thanks
Sharon
Really happy with our week away, especially as on offer. Lodges were only few weeks old so everything was still virtually new. Short drive into Southwold or other seaside towns, lots to explore nearby. Lots of open space in front of our lodges so uninterrupted view. Loved the 3 donkeys kept on site.
Marie
Excellent ran site
Vivien
It as nice to find the lodge nice and clean on our arrival. Quiet site and although local pub not too far if you going at the Tim of year when the vending so are dark you would need to drive there as n street lighting.
Amanda
Very comfortable high spec accommodation in a peaceful setting. Would definitely go back

Fun Days Out near Heathside Lodges

Africa Alive - about 9 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - about 19 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Banham Zoo - about 23 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
