Heathside Lodges in Suffolk will appeal to those looking for a peaceful base to explore the local area.  With a secluded setting these lodges have much to offer couples and families wanting a restful holiday but close enough to local towns should you want to get out and explore.  The market towns of Southwold, Aldeburgh and Walberswick are within reach for days out with a range of shops and restaurants.

The accommodation has been well designed and we like the Blyth Lodge for couples which sleeps 2 and comes with a private outdoor hot tub.  This lovely lodge also has mod cons including wifi access and flatscreen TV with freeview.  The spacious living area is ideal for relaxing and the french doors leading to the private decking are a nice touch.

The Waveney Lodge is slightly larger and sleeps 4 making it a good choice for both couples and families.  Brand new for 2011 this lodge is sure to be popular with a spacious open plan living area, private decking and outdoor hot tub.  All of the lodges are also double glazed making them a cosy choice even in the colder months. And of course the outdoor hot tub can be enjoyed in all weathers - even snow!

The Deben Lodge is also new for 2011 and is the largest of the lodges.  Sleeping 6 adults this is a spacious lodge with two double bedrooms and one twin.  One of the doubles has an en suite bathroom and there is also a family bathroom within the lodge.  With plenty of mod cons including microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer the Deben Lodge provides a comfortable base for your stay.  You will also enjoy use of your own private outdoor hot tub, as well as a balcony with patio furniture.

The local area is perfect for exploring. Some recommended days out include the Suffolk Odyssey Llamas in Halesworth less than 3 miles from the lodges, and Africa Alive in Lowestoft less than 10 miles away.

Immaculate when we arrived.
All essentials are supplied in the kitchen and hairdryers in the bedroom.
Slippers and robes also along with separate towels for use with hot tub.

Plenty storage space provided in the large wardrobes and drawers.

Entertainment also taken care of with multiple TV's and DVD player. Docking station, board games and books are a great touch. Even local take away menus provided.

There seemed nothing that they had not thought of.

Possibly the best short break in the U.K. my wife and I have had in years, the owners were friendly and helpful, staff too.

Beautiful views and a cheap convenient on site shop, the log cabin itself was stunning and remote which was perfect for the nights in the hot tub with a few bottles of wine, we will be back again next year.

Lovely lodge in beautiful surroundings. Very peaceful. Great family place. Quite pricey but just have to keep going back - this was our 3rd visit.
Stephen
We had a great relaxing break. We were greeted with a smile and shown around our lodge. The lodge was immaculate. Very comfortable with the exception of the mattress which could have possibly been a bit better (our personal opinion only). As there was only the 2 of us the fridge/freezer was more than big enough to fit everything we needed in to last us the week. The shop also doubles as the village shop so is well stocked with 99% of most essentials and local farm shops are minutes away for the best in fresh produce. The Hot tub is emptied and filled before arrival and is easy to use. A welcome bonus to help make for a relaxing chilled week. Total relaxation is what we were looking for and that is exactly what we got. We are already looking to book up again before the end of the year as we enjoyed our stay that much. We are happy to recommend these lodges to everyone.
Donna

Fun Days Out near Heathside Lodges

Africa Alive - about 9 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - about 19 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Banham Zoo - about 23 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
