Our second stay this year at Kale Lodge with our Labrador pup. So relaxing, lovely quiet site, staff that seem happy to be there. It rained and rained, but with a lovely comfortable and well appointed lodge.....plus hot tub, who cares. Always amazed that a dog friendly lodge has no sign of a dog ever having crossed the threshold.

Nice lodge but maybe needs a bit more of a through clean, lots of spiders webs throughout the lodge and on the decking. Have everything you need for a nice break away, but not very private on the decking as there is a lodge right opposite that can see you getting in and out of your hot tub and going into the lodge.
Only small niggles but easily rectified, we would go again if we got a good deal.

We loved our holiday to Longnor! It's perfect for couples and we loved the private hot tub. We took a dog and he loved it. The lodge was dog escape proof so that was a huge benefit as my little sausage dog loves to run away. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking materials and the bed was extremely comfy and there was no noise in the evenings which was a bonus.

This place is a hidden gem tucked out of the way. Quiet, tranquil and relaxing ...everything we want from a holiday after working long hours. Friendly staff greeted us and showed us to Maple Lodge our home for the week, demonstrating the lodge facilities surprisingly including a washer and tumble dryer. Hot tub was excellent and used everyday, the wooden screen and roof over it adding to privacy. Great base to explore the Peak District and all it has to offer. Especially enjoyed The Heights Of Abraham and Poole's Cavern. Only half an hour from Alton Towers. So much to do we didn't want to leave! Dog friendly too although didn't bring ours.

Fun Days Out near Longnor Wood Holiday Park

The Peak District National Park is the ideal place to relax and explore.  The stunning scenery will take your breath away and there is the opportunity to take part in ranger led guides and events.  These are ideal if you are new to the area or only staying a short time and want to see the best sights and walks.
Alton Towers - about 12 Miles
Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
Gullivers Kingdom - about 14 Miles
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
Heights of Abraham - about 14 Miles
This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.
