Sandybrook Country Park Reviews

We had a really nice weekend here with our 2 toddlers aged 18 mths and 3. the site was really peaceful and seemed deserted at times. We had a Sandybrook Riber lodge and the staff very kindly gave us a travel cot for our youngest and a highchair to use in the lodge. The lodge was cosy and really clean with a good size kitchen. We spend most of our time just chilling out in the lodge and walking around the site but we also used the indoor pool which was nice and warm and the little ones loved it. We would recommend these lodges to couples and families with young children. Not much for teenagers to do though i don't think.

We stayed in Kedleston Elite Vogue 1 Spa. Well equipped lodge, private setting. Hot tub and sauna adds to the relaxing break. Reception team were very helpful and polite. Plenty to do in surrounding area so break can be as fun-packed or relaxing as you like! On site restaurant serves lovely food at reasonable prices. Would definitely return.

It was a new lodge so all very smart. The dishwasher leaked and did not wash first time but the staff were very helpful and sorted straight away. The blinds let a lot of light in so either need black out blinds or thicker curtains.

Barbara
A lovely lodge in a very attractive setting.
Laura
We went as a family of 4. A 3yr old and 20 month old. Had the most warm welcome on arrival and were given plenty of information etc. We wanted to book the 3yr old on an activity session the next day, but was told it was unfortunately not running. In compensation we were given free dvds and mini golf for the 4 days!! Brilliant! The chalet was spotlessly clean, all appliances looked brands new and worked perfectly. The hot tub was absolutely perfect and was tested and maintained daily. There was a chalet on site that had been converted into a play room. With beautiful new toys and also v clean. The pool and area was lovely too. The on site restaurant was in a beautiful building but unfortunately the food didn't live up to the price tag, so that was the only draw back. The woods on site were amazing, and along with the outdoor park made a great safe exploring ground for the little ones. Had an amazing holiday here. Would definitely go back.
Katie
Excellent holiday to Sandy rook as always. Will be back soon

Would benefit from a proper coffee shop during the day

we visit quite alot, the cabins are beautiful, the staff are all very nice and friendly, also kevin and his staff are second to none
Gary
Lovely site , very clean apart from the bin area! Beautifully cared for lodges and friendly staff. Only disappointment we had was a meal in the onsite restaurant. The food was very poor for restaurant prices and unsurprisingly later in the week we were informed that no chef was available.
John
Lovely stay and perfect for a couple of days at Alton Towers. We got a great price because of the way half tell fell for our children. If we can afford to go more peak season we will as the area is ideal for exploring and would be a great spot in a bit of sunshine.
Kathryn
Friendly staff, extremely clean facilities and great that the hot tub with our lodge was checked and tested regularly. Our lodge was very clean and modern. I did find it a bit cold at times wondering if the two heaters and electric fire were sufficient. The pool was nice and quiet during our stay in school term. Lovely quiet surroundings, the only thing I would say is that a shop is probably needed on site, although milk and drinks/crisps are available from reception.
Becky
Had an amazing family stay for my husbands birthdy. We had our own hot tub which the men enjoyed using every evening. We are already looking forward to a return trip.

Alton Towers - about 6 Miles
Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
Gullivers Kingdom - about 9 Miles
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
Heights of Abraham - about 9 Miles
This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.
