If you like fishing or boat hire then you'll love these modern lodges on the banks of the river Thames.  Furnished with contemporary interiors and with stunning river views we're sure you'll love these holiday homes as much as we do.

The location is ideal being on the banks of the river Thames and just 10 miles from the ancient city of Oxford.  Oxford and the surrounding area have a wealth of attractions to explore from historic buildings to quaint shops and eateries.

Close to the lodges you'll find the Thames path, cycle trails and riverside pubs. It's the ideal holiday for those who like the outdoors but also city breaks and home comforts.  on the park itself there is a cafe/bistro so you don't have to travel far for some delicious food or a few drinks. There is also boat hire, canoe hire and fishing available - local charges apply.

Choose from different sized holiday homes to suit your needs - all with river views.  The Southwold 1 sleeps 4 and has a master double bedroom with walk in wardrobe.  The Southwold 2 sleeps up to 6 people and has 2 bedrooms.  The living areas are open plan in design.  The lodges also have the benefit of private outdoor hot tubs - a delightful way to enjoy the surroundings and views.

Our Top Tip
"For children there is the Snakes & Ladders play area less than 8 miles from the lodges which has ride on electric motor bikes alongside climbing frames, slides and cargo nets."

We couldn't fault our accommodation in Benson Waterfront - there was everything needed to make for a comfortable four-night stay. It was warm, clean, comfortable and spacious with all "mod cons" - TV, fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, central heating, bath and shower.

Cannot rate the on-site restaurant as we didn't use it, due to its opening times being Winter hours, so we ate locally during our days out and in the village, evenings.

only downside was regarding hot tub as there was no privacy from you're neighbours nor from passing river walkers.

The accommodation was perfect for what we needed - the bedroom was cosy and had ample of space for storing clothes etc, the bathroom was of a great size. The kitchen was what we needed for our stay which included a dishwasher, so we could relax even more. The living area was a good size with a tv and DVD, which led on to the decking with seating area and the hot tub. Great accomodation

Lodge was clean, warm and comfortable and had everything that you needed. Hot tub was fantastic. Only let down was that restaurant on site was shut for most of our stay.

Hosts were absolutely amazing, the accommodation was stunning and very clean. Didn't get a chance to hire out one of the boats or dine at the cafe but it did look great and the hosts even provided leaflets of various activities to do in the local area. Did go for a walk to see some of the beautiful scenery - would recommend wellies as it is a little muddy!

We had a fabulous time here in Oct. It was a relaxing experience and the view was amazing! The 8hr drive each way was definitely worth it for such a fantastic week! Thank you to all at Benson for a wonderful experience!
Troy
Very enjoyable. No towels for hottub but it didn't matter as we bought our own.
James
Although its by a main road traffic noise was acceptable. Other than that the lodge was clean and big enough for the four of us, and the hot tub was great - surreal in the gale. You can see the Thames! We spent our week doing some nice walks locally and in short drives into the Chilterns. We also went to see the Winttenham Clumps visible in the distance, thanks to a helpful tip from the owner. Recommended. On the Thursday (last day), we came back to find one of the window panes had shattered on the outside (no glass inside thankfully). No idea what happened whilst we were away - a bird perhaps? - but am grateful that the owners did not blame us for it.

Fun Days Out near Benson Waterfront

This is an all weather attraction in Abingdon, Oxfordshire which will appeal to all ages.  The model trains are fascinating to watch and we love the model village in the Vale Scene.  The exhibits have been well thought out and it's a pleasure to wander around this museum looking at everything on offer.  You can be assured of a warm welcome from the moment you arrive and for kids and adults alike this makes a fun and educational day out.
Farmer Gows - about 20 Miles
Farmer Gows is a recommended attraction in the Faringdon area of Oxfordshire and will be especially suited to families with young children.  The little ones will love coming to see the farm animals including pigs, cows and lambs.  The meet the animals session takes place every day and includes handling the animals, walking the goats, feeding the pigs and cows and egg collecting.  Look out for special seasonal events throughout the year such as the Halloween Party, Lambing and children's workshops.  The latest news from the farm is that they have some Saddleback piglets and Speckledy chicks arriving shortly.
