Rudyard Lake Lodges Reviews

We took our kids here for a week while they were off school as it is quite close to Alton towers and we have been meaning to go there for ages. Alton Towers was a big hit with our children but was very busy and we had to wait ages for some of the big rides. The lodges were great and felt a million miles from the madness of the theme parks. Our two bedroom lodge was quite big and the kitchen was fab, it had everything i needed to cook us basic meals.

Heronsview is very well maintained with beautiful furnishings. It was very clean and the hot tub is checked daily. I could quite happily live here. Only downside is no WIFI add that and it would be perfect.

We had a fantastic time at Meadowview in May. The owner called us on the day of arrival to give additional directions and then greeted us when we arrived at the lodge.

The lodge is clean and tidy with a homely feel. The owners of this particular lodge are lovely and add many little touches (welcome card, chocolates by the beds and small bottles of wine on arrival) which in our opinion really make a difference.

This is a pet friendly lodge with the advantage of an enclosed private garden.

We will definitely be returning for another stay.

The holiday was very relaxing made all the better for the accommodation. It was very clean comfortable and private. The hot tub was a welcome bonus after some lovely, but strenuous walks. There were two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two large singles. I would recommend a stay here.
Beautiful location, lovely cabin with some special extra touches provided by the wonderful owners on site. Will definitely be coming back.
A lovely small collection of 5 lodges which are accessed via a private road. The layout of the lodges maximises privacy. They are individually owned and overlooking a meadow. The area itself is quiet and relaxing with nearby walks and things to do.
Brilliant week in great lodge and location.
The surroundings are beautiful and all the cabins have privacy. road up to cabin very rough but luckily we have 4 wheel drive.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rudyard Lake, the Lodge was excellent and the location fabulous. Our only criticism was a broken toilet (onsuite loo system continually filling with water, which kept us awake) when we reported on day 2; unfortunately wasn't repaired during our stay. But that said; we would book again, as this didn't spoil the holiday and Leek has some beautiful scenery and walks that we would like to enjoy again.
Perfect all round, my husband stayed here the night before our wedding and felt like he was in luxury, I stayed here after the wedding and everything was perfect, everything you would want and need with a beautiful setting & the owners were fantastic and very helpful too.. will definatly be staying again.
Great little break for our family and lovely personal little touches.
Excellent holiday. Really clean tidy place. We will definitely be going again.

Fun Days Out near Rudyard Lake Lodges

Alton Towers - about 11 Miles
Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
The Peak District National Park is the ideal place to relax and explore.  The stunning scenery will take your breath away and there is the opportunity to take part in ranger led guides and events.  These are ideal if you are new to the area or only staying a short time and want to see the best sights and walks.
This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.
Gullivers Kingdom - about 21 Miles
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
