Durham Coastal Lodges are an intimate cluster of gorgeous boutique lodges in a stunning rural setting.  The modern lodges all come with outdoor hot tubs and additional special features such as remote control mood lighting and a wood burning stove with logs. Nothing has been overlooked and the the attention to detail in the quality linen and towels add even more luxury to your stay.  WIFI is also included.

The countryside setting gives these lodges a restful vibe but of course you're close to the historic city of Durham when you want to get out and explore.  The Catherdral and Castle are renowned worldwide and the charming cobbled streets and quaint shops and cafes await.  There is also a good choice of pubs and restaurants in the city.

Outdoor activities are on the doorstep, with walking and cycling being very popular in the area.  Beamish Museum is accessible from the lodges and makes a great day out for families and couples alike.

Choose your lodge to suit, we love the Little Owl Lodge which sleeps 4 and is stylish and luxurious.  The Penny Lodge is slightly larger and has 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6 in total.  The Penny Lodge has a large family shower room.  The Willoughby Lodge is also a great option for families with a modern open plan living design.  All of the lodges have spacious decking areas to enjoy the rural scenery and of course you can relax in the private outdoor hot tubs.

Our Top Tip
"Pamper packs for couples are available at Durham Coastal Lodges which include Champagne, fresh flowers and chocolates.  The packs must be ordered at time of booking and paid for prior to arrival. Make your stay even more memorable!"

Durham Coastal Lodges Reviews

Stayed in Little Owl Lodge. Fantastic. After staying at least 30 of Hoseasons lodges this was one of the best. The owner Sue was very bubbly and friendly the lodge was immaculate having everything you would need and more. And to top it all the hot tub was brilliant and checked every morning. Thanks again Sue for everything

Our expectations were exceeded by this lodge in every way. Not only was the lodge itself outstanding but the gardens and play area were excellent and extremely well maintained.
We loved the personal touches like the biscuits and prosecco to welcome us. We also loved the peace and privacy you get with the lodge. I have recommended Little Owl lodge to many people since coming home it is one of the best places we have ever stayed (and we are very fussy!)

Me and my family came to Durham coastal lodges for easter and stayed for 4 nights at the Willoughby Lodge
.The photos online do Not do the whole lodge, and surrounding area justice! The lodge is very spacious but with a cozy feel to it as it has a big log fire ! and also the lodge has a quirky design throughout which definitely makes it stand out from the other lodges we've been too. Eveythings been designed down to the smallest of details ! And the veiws were outstandingly beautiful and the decking outside were very spacious. There was everything you could possibly need in the lodge too, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, butter, soaps, washing up liquid, oil, dishwasher tablets, soap powder etc the lot ! and The welcome pack which included a bottle of posecco and some chocolate biscuits didn't go a miss ! Having kids with different age gaps can be difficult to keep them all entertained at the same time, But the Hot tub, Tvs in every room and the park and provided board games certainly kept them all busy and entertained, The beds were comfy and the place were spotless, The hot tub were clean and Huge and was more like a swimming pool for the youngest and it was very relaxing on a nightime !and the owners couldn't of been anymore helpful and friendly ! We really enjoyed our stay here and we were gutted to leave as is were so nice and our little boy cried All the way home as he wanted a stay too. I could write and write about this beautiful place and lodge but no one wants to read an essay so I'll leave it there but we absolutely loved it and I know anyone thinking of booking will not be dissapointed either 😊

Unbelievable service from Sue from check in to check out. Facilities were high spec - and added extras (eg board games) meant we wanted for nothing during the weekend. Absolutely amazing weekend - thank you. have already recommended to friends and family
Helen
We absolutely loved our stay in Willoughby lodge. It was spotless and has everything you could possibly need. Hot tub is amazing and we were really grateful for the shelter as we had heavy rain so were still able to enjoy it. It's also very private, not overlooked by other lodges. Bed was so comfy, we felt thoroughly relaxed and wouldn't hesitate to go back!

This was the second time we have visited and yet again we had a lovely stay. The lodges are beautifully decorated and well kitted out. The owners live on site and obviously put a lot of effort in to making your stay excellent. Will definately visit again.
Jane
My third visit. Excellent and clean with great facilities - hot tub and great play area for children. Very quiet - only three lodges on site and each one very private.
Alison
We have been to these lodges several times and absolutely love them. Already booked for later in the year
STEPHEN
The lodge was of a very high standard, with everything we needed for a stress free holiday. Beautiful location with many places of interest within a short radius.
