These luxury lodges were brand new in 2009 and are ideal for those seeking a break away in a relaxed and picturesque environment. The park has a wonderful location just a short drive from the bustling market town of Thirsk and the historic city of York is also close by.

As the name would suggest the lodges have been designed around impressive and well stocked fishing lakes catering for all ages and abilities. The park also has a superb new contemporary bar and restaurant which also offers occasional weekend light entertainment. The food served in the restaurant is modern and fresh with local produce featuring strongly.

There is also plenty to see and do in the local area with cathedral cities of York and Ripon both within easy reach. If its a day on the coast you're looking for then the popular resorts of Scarborough and Whitby can be reached in just over an hour taking in some of the most breathtaking scenery and picture postcard villages en route.

The Yorkshire moors and dales can also be reached in under and hour and offer the perfect environment for enjoying outdoor pursuits. Watersports, climbing and gliding are available as well as the more traditional walking and cycling.

There are four types of lodge to choose from at Woodland Lakes. All were brand new in 2009 and are very well equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday. The Chestnut Lodge is a good choice for a romantic break and has one bedroom and an outdoor hot tub. The Birch Lodge is larger and perfect for families sleeping up to 6. The lodge has two storeys making it very spacious and it also has a balcony where you can enjoy stunning views and a hot tub. The Poplar lodge is also two storey and very contemporary in design. It sleeps up to 4 people and has an outside furnished area with hot tub.

Woodland Lakes Lodges Reviews

Woodland Lakes Lodges are in a good place if you want to do some siteseeing in yorkshire. The park itself was really peaceful, no kids running around or noisy groups when we were there. seemed to be mostly couples or small families with babies. People there just to relax. The bar on the park serves the most amazing food and the service was good but not in your face. Our lodge had smashing views over the woods and was very modern with a better kitchen than i have at home.

The kitchen facilities were really good in the lodge. Nice to have a welcome pack with tea, coffee, bread etc., although a bit more washing up liquid would be handy. Having a DVD player was nice.

Lodge was lovely. Some of the fittings were well used but this is to expected in holiday rentals.

Holiday was fab, lodge was nice hot tub could possibly be doing with upgrade as a few of the jet covers were missing and 1 fell out (landed on seat causing a jaggy thigh wen sitting down) when the jets had been put on first time. Staff were friendly enough on passing we didnt have any major problem for them to come and fix so couldnt comment on that. The only downside was as we wer leaving the cleaners were whizzing about on ther golf buggy along the pathway as i was walking to the car with bags, they never seen me till last min as they were 2 busy talking, and flew past me half on path n half on stones then huffed at me as if it was my fault.

Great lodge buetifull inside and out not much to do without a drive
Stacy
Lovely relaxing and peaceful weekend . Lodge was clean and everything we expected . Milk and bread in the lodge on arrival was a nice little touch . The bar/restaurant was lovely and the food was excellent, even our dog was allowed in . It would be better if the back of the lodge was enclosed all the way round for privacy when in the tub and so we could have left the door open to let the dog out but overall perfect place for relaxation and quiet breaks . Will definately be staying again .
Alice

Fun Days Out near Woodland Lakes Lodges

Lightwater Valley - about 7 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
Big Sheep - about 8 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
Fountains Abbey - about 10 Miles
This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
Yorkshire Lavender - about 17 Miles
Yorkshire Lavender is an amazing award winning attraction offering breathtaking panoramic views of York, a Café, Plant Nursery and Lavender Gardens. The 60 acre site is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is an excellent choice for a day trip.
