This is a superb location for exploring the very best that North Yorkshire and the Dales have to offer. Nestling within a beautiful lakeside setting and close to the Pennine Way, Brimham Rocks and the towering 300 foot high Malham Cove, these oh-so-stylish lodges have private decking areas, hot tubs and extremely luxurious interiors. Cedar Retreats (formerly West Tanfield Lodges) are a perfect retreat for couples because of its quiet rural setting and its proximity to the Yorkshire Moors and Dales. There are some beautiful market towns that are well worth visiting; Skipton has one of the most complete and well preserved medieval castles in England with a beautiful Tudor courtyard.

We love Daleside Lodge with its contemporary design and stunning interior. It has a spacious double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a large twin room. Every detail has been carefully considered for comfort and convenience, such as WiFi access, an iPod docking station, flat screen TV and DVD - and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. And of course, it has its own private deck with patio furniture and outdoor hot tub with beautiful views across the lake.

The Yorkshire Dales is renowned for its amazing landscape, classic walks and delightful towns. Bolton Abbey in Skipton has around 30,000 acres of beautiful countryside with 80 miles of footpaths as well as excellent restaurants, tea rooms and cafes. If you fancy a thrill, visit Lightwater Valley Theme Park with its line-up of white-knuckle rides and Europe’s longest rollercoaster - or you could opt for some serious pampering at the Victorian Turkish Baths in Harrogate.

"Nice site, already considering booking again."
Sarah - Aug 2020
"We stayed for a weekend with our 9 and 6 year olds. The lodge was beautiful, modern and immaculate. We had a bit of trouble with the WiFi but they sent someone straight out and it was something we were doing wrong, so our fault completely. The setting is lovely, with the lodges all around a small lake. Theres nothing there so not great for all kids, but ours loved it still. The hot tubs make the difference, this was where we spent most of our time on an evening. All of the appliances were easy to use, the microwave, oven, dishwasher etc and the tv had all the freeview channels plus Netflix, so great for the kids. The management were very helpful and always at the end of a phone for any help. Theres also a lovely little village near by within 5 - 10 minutes walk, with a lovely pub by the river which did great food. We absolutely loved our stay there and would love to go back. The only score we marked lower than 10 was value for money. Although the place was lovely we felt it was overpriced. Considering there are no facilities at all we just thought that was a lot to pay. Hopefully it was just a price hike due to the foreign travel restrictions (I know a lot of places have done this) and it will be a more realistic price next year.
We will definitely look at coming back if the prices arent quite as high next time."
Nigel - Aug 2020

We found the lodge park easily and received a very warm welcome on arrival. It is in a perfect location to explore North Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. Hope to be back very soon."

"overall I'd rate 8/10. Some updated kitchen equipment would be nice as well as sun loungers for the decking."
