Conifer Lodges in Wigtownshire are the perfect antidote to modern life. When you want to relax and re-charge your batteries then these lodges are a perfect retreat. The established pine woodland surroundings give an "away from it all" feel and yet you are only one mile from Newton Stewart, a pretty market town.
Facilities on site include tennis, BBQ and a launderette. For golf lovers then an 18 hole golf course is situated right next to the lodges and there are other quality golf courses in the region including the well known Turnberry course.
Reviews of Conifer Lodges have been very favourable with guests commenting on the excellent location and well appointed accommodation. The lodges offer a relaxing base for your stay, some with private outdoor hot tubs. We like the Lady Galloway Lodge VIP which offers open plan living for up to 6 people and private hot tub. The Conifer Lodge VIP is also recommended.

Loved lodge although lacked storage space for clothes and not many coat hangers
Great place to relax, right time of year if weather is right. Plan was to spend time at kinnoubrough forest but was too wet to take advantage of.
Good time had by all
Perfect chilled break away with loved ones.
Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a relaxing break loved it
Excellent accommodation, though could do with some hooks by the door for coats. Only very minor issue,!
amazing would definitely come back
Found lodge very comfortable. One little snag though was finding out how to put the cooker on. Switch was not obvious and we had to seek assistance of staff who found it behind the microwave. A little note pointing to where switch was would have been helpful. Double showerheads in shower room took a bit of working out!
Very well equipped lodge. All the essentials needed.
Well equipped but a little dated and very dark inside
We have been to a lot of lodges in the past and Conifer lodges is one of the best.
Staff are lovely. L8dge had everything needed and shops are in a village few miles drive. Lovely peaceful holiday .
Lodge was smelling of curry and continued throughout our stay. I mentioned is to staff on leaving but did not see anyone prior to this. We were out most of the day so it didn't spoil our stay but it was very strong
A peaceful place to take a short break with both forest and coastal walks within easy reach.
Very good hope to get back again
Great value for money, only reason not booking is found similar lodge in dunfermline with more activities but definately the place for a relaxing break
The lodge was immaculate and well equipped , the hot tub was fab , the site was lovely and peaceful . The only negative was we found it was in middle of nowhere with not many places to visit in the area
Really chilled break, site staff resolved initial issues very quickly, making it easier to relax and enjoy our break
Excellent for families, lovely town. Just a shame there are no on site facilities.
Loved the holiday have been several times gutted can't go next year due to being fully booked already
An outdoor activity center suitable for families. Featuring one of Europe's longest zip wires, jeep driving, grass sledging, archery, outdoor scooters. A mix of fun and adreneline rides and a lot more.
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
