Tucked away in 270 hectares of beech trees, Blackwood Forest has atmosphere in spades. It really is unique - a retreat surrounded by nature and well away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The park sits within the Forestry Commission Estate and there are loads of walks and bike rides right on your doorstep.
Blackwood Forest Lodges has a coffee lounge and shop, and its own site ranger who can take you on guided walks and activities. Hampshire is renowned for its unspoilt beaches and seaside towns, such as Bournemouth and Southampton, which are full of lively cafés, bars and restaurants as well as a host of entertainment venues.
Golden Oak Hideaway is ideal if you're getting away for a romantic break; it's been built exclusively for a couple and has panoramic views of the forest. The ensuite bathroom has a sunken bath big enough for two and you can enjoy lounging in the hammock, relaxing in the outdoor hot tub - or staying cosy by the log burning stove.
The historic dockyard at Portsmouth is a great place to visit - you can take a stroll around the Mary Rose, which sat at the bottom of the sea for almost 450 years!

Great place to stay. Loved it!
The break was really welcome and we didn't have cause for complaint. I do have one suggestion though - we had three people staying in our lodge, and we found that after we had all been in the hot tub there was no where to really dry our wet things, especially as we had got wet on a couple of walks so had lots of things that needed to dry.
As above. Cleaners need to be more thorough as people pay a lot of money and don't expect to have to clean things before they unpack.
Couldn't fault the lodge at all.

I marked cleanliness down as a couple of mins and forks were not clean
The accommodation was lovely. Very spacious and clean.
Again lovely lodge and very well facilitated but a bit squashed in. But still good.

Excellent, comfort, luxury and complete privacy and very comfy beds.
My son and daughter in law absolutely loved the treehouse and the little touch of the welcome biscuits for the dogs was really nice.
Lovely lodge, slightly overlooked by neighbouring lodge which had a group of young lads in who were quite noisy.
Beautiful accommodation and surroundings
And helpful staff
Will definently be back
Lovely place would definitely go again!
Shop should sell baby food/milk!
A really lovely break. The lodge was comfortable and clean, the hot tub was lovely, even in the rain! We managed to get some good walks in between showers, and the cream tea was a nice treat. I can wholeheartedly recommend the bacon sandwich!!
We have been twice now and we will be returning.
Had a great time, weather was good lovely surroundings, cycle hire on site
Fantastic lodge and beautiful surroundings. We didn't get in lodge till late because waiting for cleaners. That is the only thing that let holiday down was cleanliness, for the money I paid I expect it to be cleaned to a high standard but it wasn't. I had to clean several kitchen items and the bath before use, also old rose petals all over bedroom and also found food wrappers behind cushions on sofa. Such a shame because such a beautiful place. Attention to detail is important when it comes to cleaning. That aside I would recommend this place as I loved it.
Standard of accommodation was very good, would definitely go back.
Was idyllic, was there for four nights with my wife, 3 sons aged 5, 3 and 18months and our dog, was nice to relax and unwind in the hot tub at night after long walks round the forrest and the lodges are nicely spaced out from other lodges, accommodation was clean tidy and spacious, kinda felt like home. location was great too
