Landal Leycroft Valley Reviews

"We have stayed here twice and really enjoy the relaxing atmosphere its a good size lodge to stay in with friends or family and the hot tub is great to use too its lovely and close enough for a meal out if you want and not far from Perrenporth Beach too."
Debbie Applegate - Applegate Adventure Travels - Mar 2024
"Excellent and a fabulous place to visit and stay in 5* lodge"
Mike Boodhun - Mar 2024
"Fantastic lodge. Great views. Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay here. Would definitely recommend."
Jackie - Mar 2024
"Only complaint was that the pillows on the bed were not that good. On seeing a staff member or manager on leaving they said I could have got some more. It didnt spoil our stay."
Jonathan - Feb 2024
"Had a lovely relaxing stay. Hut was so clean can not fault cleanliness, even down to the kettle, not a speck of limescale. Just because you can have a dog stay the hut needs cushions on sofa and rug on the floor. The headboard on the bed needs replacing as torn and looked very worn. Otherwise i cant fault my stay. Hot tub was lush but half the jets didnt work or the lights in the tub. Overall, loved my stay. Peaceful and relaxing. Only reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5, i was charged for pet when it advertises pets stay free of charge."

"Lovely location for a few nights away! Lodge was clean and spacious and hot tub was perfect temperature on arrival. Easy to find but was down a narrow country lane so something to be aware of. Bed was comfy, sofa was a little outdated but we didn't spend too much time on it so not really an issue. Walking to Perranporth beach took about 35 minutes on a relatively flat road that had minimal pavements, would recommend visiting The Watering Hole beach bar for a drink as the views were great. Overall a great place to stay and I would recommend for anyone looking to explore this part of Cornwall."
Lucy - Jan 2024
"This is a lovely location, very peaceful, with a very friendly robin who came to see me every time I opened the door! Excellent lodge, good facilities. Could only get WiFi outside for some reason, and the can opener had seen better days- took about 10 mins to open a can! But otherwise an excellent stay, just what I needed for a few days' relaxation."
Julian Smith - Jan 2024
"We visited Leycroft Valley (Lidden Lodge No. 30) just before Christmas, upon arrival we were very disappointed to find several immediate issues with the accommodation - laminate flooring heavily damaged, surface of sofa heavily marked, worn and faux leather badly peeling. As the weekend went on we also noticed heavy mould around shower base and bathroom skirting, toilet seat not the correct size for the toilet, cistern causing heavy condensation which then drips down on the floor and travels along grout lines creating a constantly wet and slippery floor, cracked tiles either side of the toilet, heavily corroded door stop in the bathroom, corroded radiator, bathroom light not working, shower screen not set within runners possibly making it dangerous if fell against, shower made a horrendous high pitched noise when the water was running, kitchen worktop marked, stained and water damaged, unfilled fitting holes in the ceiling where something has been removed, no working remote controls in the lounge area or bedroom (one remote backs hanging off, one contained two corroded batteries, the other only contained one battery, emergency rechargeable torch not working, dirty and marked outdoor cushion seat, window keys rusty. The pictures on the website may have been taken some time ago. Will not be returning."
Tina - Jan 2024
"We stayed over NYE and had a fantastic time, the lodge is comfortable in a amazing setting. The manager, Jo Bartlett couldn't have been more helpful when we wanted to change which lodge we were staying in. Highly recommended, some furniture is tired but overall the lodge is quiet and has everything you need!"
Geraint - Jan 2024
"Needs a refurb believe this to be happening shortly was told this in our last stay in July 23. Although this didn't affect the holiday."
John - Jan 2024
"The cabin was a pet cabin, which we chose despite not having pets, the only reason I chose it was because it was slightly cheaper. However I did not expect the entire place and the decking area to be covered in pet hair, to the point if you walked anywhere the pet hair was carried with you, in the hot tub, in the bed and all around the cabin. We do not feel the cabin was cleaned thoroughly enough. The radiator in the lounge/kitchen did not work in the middle of winter. The main bedroom had a very strong smell of mould which was covered up with a bleach smell when we arrived, the smell got progressively worse and eventually we could see mould building up on the ceiling. The hot tub lights didnt work at all, nor did two of the outside lights next to the hot tub. Overall we were really disappointed with the general lack of attention to the maintenance issues in the cabin as this clearly had not been checked before our stay. We paid a lot of money for this break away because we believed Hoseasons to be off a higher standard, unfortunately they did not live up to our expectations."

"A perfect stay, much enjoyed and appreciated."
Julie - Dec 2023
"Beware of booking a two night hot tub stay! I recently booked a two night hot tub stay for my husbands birthday. I was told that the hot tub is usually ready by 4pm. This wasn't true and it wasn't ready. So if you book and pay for two nights, you will in fact only get one. I find this highly unfair and misleading on the website and from their customer services. They will state this is for hygiene reasons which I fully appreciate but they are happy to charge you for both nights anyway! The staff were grumpy on our arrival and didn't know if our lodge had been cleaned so got us to check our own lodge to make sure it was clean. He blamed the situation on staffing and walked off. It didn't fill us with confidence. I did complain to which they said my early check in (I parked the car at the location 3 hours early) was sufficient compensation. I had, in fact, paid over £300 for my one hot tub night experience. Not impressed. Should have stayed at home :("
Jayde - Dec 2023
"Not very clean infection it was disgusting dirt everywhere. Makes me wonder if they do empty and clean the hot tubs as I'm pretty sure the was black hairs in the water when me and my wife are both blonde, so as you can guess we didn't use it as it didn't look like it was cleaned to us"
Dan - Dec 2023
"Lovely resort and facilities"
Sue - Nov 2023
"Such a shame as we normally love it here , but the issues we had and no one in authority to speak to has put us off coming back ."
Paul Timson - Nov 2023

"Stayed at Landal Leycroft Valley and had a wonderful week and it was the perfect week away.Weve stayed at Leycroft before and cant wait to come back sometime soon. One of the reasons we pick Leycroft is the secluded location - it only takes a 20-45 minute walk to be either in Perranporth, the other direction St Agnus or The Miners Arms in Mithian (Highly recommend the cliff top walk from St Agnus and Perranporth!) Leycroft also falls right between St Ives and Newquay, only a short drive away and loves of lovely hidden beaches and coves in between.Although the lodges are looking a little tired now (but this is also the same at other similar locations weve visited over the last 10 years or so), theyre perfect for what were looking. We also go for the added bonus of a hot tub to relax in on a sunny afternoon or a chilled out evening. The kitchen is always well stocked with utilities, plates and other bits of bobs. The bathrooms are also more than sufficient with towels provided. We did have a slight issue with the oven, but spoke to a member of the team and later Jo and cant fault with how quickly they responded to this and resolved the matter without any hesitation. Weve stayed here for nearly 12 years and this is the first time weve had an issue, so hasnt impacted on our views of Laycroft and we look forward to coming back next year.Jo in particular was so friendly and helpful that I just wanted to take the time to acknowledge this and thank Jo for her time.Looking forward to returning next year and revisiting one of our favourite places in Cornwall."
Adam, Nathan & Penny - Nov 2023
"Pictures showed facilities you didn't get washing machine Hair dryer etc"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Quiet location. Internet quite poor but managed to get a signal if you sat outside on the balcony. A internet booster in each cabin might help improve this. A shelf or caddy in the shower would help with storing shower essentials. Extra bedding or blanket would be a good addition. Would stay again and recommend"
Susan - Nov 2023
"Nice spacious treehouse however very dated and needs attention to details - rip in sofa, marks all over wall, outside area not clean, parts of hot tub didn't work, gaps in doors/windows which let all bugs in"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Great location although access roads a little narrow but expected in this part of country. Loved the hot tub and it's privacy from other guests. Made a great base for us getting out and about and facilities within cabin were good. Negatives - 1. Due to us arriving quite late we purchased some pizza on way to location to cook. The large provided knife was so blunt it couldn't cut through pizza without lots of pressure. 2. Son was in the second bedroom which was missing TV remote and the Ariel outlet socket was damaged so lead was just sitting in socket thus reducing reception. 3. Some electrical issues, extraction fan not working in bathroom area although window opened wide it appears some guests have not opened as ceiling paint flaking in shower area. Couple of lights not working and fridge missing freezer compartment door and lower door shelf and door fixing for shelf damaged so had to improvise other shelf and sellotape in place for our opened milk container.Positives - Loved location and gave us a great base location for daily activities. Was a relaxing week and hot tub just helps after busy days out and about. Would recommend this place as it was fairly peaceful location in nice surroundings. Not a negative as such limited WiFi and no signal in valley but that suited us but you forget how much you use phones to plan next day activities!"
Nicola - Nov 2023
"Absolutely fine for a quiet break, covered decking means you can sit outside regardless of weather"
Stephen - Jun 2023

Kelly - Aug 2020
"Very beautiful place .. it was clean but the cleaning could be ramped up .. handles and hot tub could do with a steam clean"
Julie - Aug 2020
"Lovely lodge. Maybe sofa / garden cushion needs to be updated looking tired & not so comfy. Mattress also needs to be changed. Otherwise Could not fault our stay lovely."
Ian - Aug 2020
"Absolutely brilliant place to stay super chilled handy for the beach an nice an quiet with like minded other friendly families already looking to book again for next year"
Ian - Jul 2022
"I booked the days but wanted to reduce to two. Was told three was minimum and if wanted to cancel would only get 10% back. That was only one day after booking. Outrageous!!"
Julia - Jul 2022
"Beautiful location and just perfect so our Labrador. Really close to local town and the the most beautiful beaches and views."
Louise - Jul 2022
"Great value for money, fabulous location, would definitely recommend"
Karen - Jul 2022
"Lovely lodge with hot tub, well situated for lots of different visits. Very clean and comfortable within a good distance for loads of attractions. Initially the road to arrive is a bit of a scary drive as it is very narrow. You soon get used to it and all drivers are very considerate as these narrow roads often lead you to the most interesting places."
Array - Jul 2022
"We have been coming to this sight for many years and have seen it developed .The position of this sight in Cornwall is one of the best ,positioned down a small lane not far from all the lovely beaches and Perranporth itself. The lodges are tucked away with lots of trees surrounding them and very peaceful. The lodge interior was comfortable and clean and all you need while you are on holiday. We stopped for two weeks and we asked if we could have fresh towels for the second week which they provided also changing our bed sheets at the same time."
