Ruby Country Lodges are the perfect romantic escape. They are ideally located on the Devon / Cornwall border, so you'll have the best of both counties as you explore the interesting market towns, picturesque villages and visitor attractions. The lodges are surrounded by fragrant pine trees and unspoilt rolling countryside.

The wooded setting and rustic lodges give a real feeling of seclusion - you can while away the beautiful Devon evenings in your own private hot tub. However, Bude, with its many restaurants, pubs and shops, is very close by if you want something a little more lively. The Tree Inn is a quaint yet busy village pub that offers really lovely bar food.

Accommodation at Ruby Country Lodges consists of stunning two and three bedroom lodges, all with their own hot tubs. Roadford Lodge is sumptuous and stylishly furnished to a very high standard. The master bedroom has an ensuite shower and there are also two twin rooms and a deluxe family bathroom. It's open plan and contemporary and the patio doors lead out onto a superb decking area and hot tub.

There are plenty of safe cycle paths in the surrounding area. The Granite Way at Okehampton is a fairly easy 11 mile route that takes you through rural Devon with hardly any traffic. You can go gliding and riding at Dartmoor, clay pigeon shooting at Liskeard and canoeing and kayaking at Barnstaple so there's plenty of activities if you have some energy to burn!

Our Top Tip
"If you want to treat a loved one to a special meal then we love Decks Restaurant in Instow, serving fresh local food and offering delightful views."

We went here Monday till Friday for our honeymoon and it was just fantastic. The staff were brilliant and showed us everything we needed to know. The facilities are next to none and we loved the hot tub and especially the shower with many settings. We ordered a hamper as well which was a range of local produce which was brilliant. The location is so quiet and relaxing. We couldn't fault anything and will be certainly returning.

We stayed at tge ruby lodges as a family of 4 for a week in July. We thought the lodge was beautiful with personal touches to make our stay even better. The lodge is individualized with a hot tub that made the holiday extra special. Andrew the manager was friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome throughout. The site was relaxed, quiet, clean and well looked after. Perfect for couples and families with older children. We enjoyed the site so much we would definately return. The local area boasted a village called halliwal which re we ate twice at the lovely junction inn pub. The landlord was friendly and the food was beautiful. Please do visit there and enjoy. The desserts were amazing. The location was ideally situated for Bude (30 mins away) visited croyde and ilfracombe too. The weather was poor that week but so much to do and see it didn't matter and even went in the hot tub in the rain. Just gorgeous !
