If you're looking for a blissful retreat, with indulgent spa treatments and a hydrotherapy pool on your doorstep, then Hawkchurch Resort and Spa is for you. The stylish accommodation is set within a haven of natural beauty on the Dorset/Devon border and boasts fabulous views over the Axe Valley. Just a short drive from Axminster and Lyme Regis, this is the place to relax and recharge.

The Ezina Spa has three treatment rooms as well as a gym, relaxation room, sauna and Hammam style steam room. You can take your pick from fitness classes, yoga and Pilates and when you've finished being pampered, enjoy a deliciously healthy dinner in the Bistro style restaurant which also has a luxurious bar and sun terrace.

We love the Austen Premier, a contemporary and spacious lodge with a large decking area, where you can relax in your private hot tub after a luxurious spa day. It has two king sized ensuite double bedrooms and two twin rooms as well as a spacious family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. The lounge and kitchen is open plan and beautifully designed.

Lyme Regis is nestled around the mouth of the River Lim, and sits between the Undercliff National Nature Reserve and the stunning Blue Lias cliffs. The town has a wealth of independent shops selling gifts, clothes and jewellery. It also boasts a number of beaches and some lovely walks along the River Lym.

Our Top Tip
"South Devon and the Jurassic Coast are wonderful regions to explore."

Had lovely time and didn't want to come home. Site was very clean and quiet. Only thing I'd change would be a family pool or park for families.

Dirty in places as if cleaning was rushed.

The lodge was fantastic but if I'm honest the cleaning could have been a little better, hair in the shower, don't think the bathroom was cleaned at all, some crockery had tea stains. But apart from that we had a great time and would definitely visit again.

Lovely lodges but expensive considering you have to buy food on top of that cost
Julie

Gill
Fabulous lodge on a smart, clean and well run complex.
Karen
Lodge was lovely, nice site, we didn't use facilities due to having child with us, but pizza were good, only thing I would ask for is little play area for kids to run off some steam!
Gary
Exellent and relaxed. Clean and tidy
Sunita
Excellent place to stay, great location to visit different places. Would recommend going to the Spa for treatments.
Rachael
Had a wonderful time and our lodge was gorgeous and modern. The site is well maintained and quiet. We reported faulty blinds in bedroom which never got repaired but wasn't a big deal. Everything you could need is in the lodge.
Robert
Lovely resort but could benefit from fenced dog exercise area
Helen
Had a lovely week. Good location for days out.
Paul
Great place for a base when exploring the Dorset/East Devon area.
Anne
The accommodation was excellent, as described on the website. Restaurant food was excellent and staff very helpful and friendly. The whole family enjoyed the comfort of the lodge and the hot tub was very relaxing.

Fun Days Out near Hawkchurch Resort And Spa

Bicton Park and Gardens - about 18 Miles
This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens.  Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds.  For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.
This popular adventure park is full of thrills and excitement as well as having loads for younger children to take part in as well. The best theme park rides include the Tidal Wave log flume and Maximus the rollercoaster.  Other fantastic rides include the the New Vortex Watercoaster ride and the Queen Bess pirate ship.  Indoor fun is plentiful too with the Adventure Zone, the Magical Kingdom and Dina's Lost World.
Dorset Teddy Bear Museum - about 22 Miles
This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a magical place to visit with grand gardens and plenty of animals to meet.  From goats and ponies to alpacas and pot bellied pigs this attraction is excellent value for money.  You can feel free to explore the grounds too which are especially lovely on sunny days.  You will see majestic floral displays, stone terraces, a temple and even a lake.
