Just a mile from the historic market town of Wimborne in glorious Dorset with its spectacular coastline and delightful resorts, Merley Woodland Lodges sit within ten acres of parkland and woodland. Bournemouth, Poole and the New Forest are all within easy reach and there are some superb facilities including an outdoor heated pool and tennis courts.

Merley Woodland Lodges has table tennis, pool tables, a bar and family room and a children’s playground. The more adventurous can try their hand at kitesurfing lessons in Bournemouth, and if you enjoy fresh, locally sourced food and excellent fish dishes, Da Vinci’s Warehouse Brasserie in Poole is well worth a visit with its stunning views over the harbour.

We can heartily recommend the Canford Premier Lodge. It sleeps up to four people in two spacious double bedrooms and patio doors lead out onto a large verandah with a private outdoor hot tub. It is stylish and luxurious, fully equipped with a flat screen TV and DVD with Freeview and adult bikes are included so that you can cycle right from your doorstep.

Dorset has more than its share of history and heritage - Brownsea Island sits in Poole Harbour and is home to one of Henry VIII’s coastal castles. Highcliffe Castle in Christchurch is also worth a visit with its medieval stonework and stained glass windows. Merley Woodland Lodges is just a few miles away from Eype’s Mouth, a gravel and sand beach overlooked by impressive cliffs with wonderful views. Poole and Bournemouth also have some lovely beaches with beautifully clean water.

Our Top Tip
"For an interesting day out visit the Model Town at Wimbourne Minster in Dorset - less than a mile from the lodges."

I had the most relaxing time ever x x
It was a clean site, great cabin, clean, bed comfortable pillows great,it had everything you needed, food hamper was a great idea.
Great break loved quiet location
We had a great time staying at the Merley woodland park. We stayed in a cabin with a hot tub and took our two dogs with us. Plenty of room and clean. Staff very polite and helpful especially Linda. We did not want a load and lively holiday with kids clubs as these sites seem to be too noisy. It had all the facilities we needed for our holiday. I would highly recommend this Park
Lovely tranquil setting with plenty to do in close proximity. The welcome pack was very good quality selection and which we were pleased to receive.
Fantastic location and lovely accommodation 👍
when we booked we had asked for 2 doubles and had been assured it would be so - when we arrived it wasn't and the reception staff hadn't been passed the info The tv remote for the second bedroom was missing altogether Overall a nice stay but lack of communication with the booking/reception
Fantastic break, the lodge was of high quality, staff were lovely, only two small criticism was that some of the jets in the jacuzzi didn't work and the bar because it wasn't yet summer season wasn't open that much. But that's the only criticism I would make

Fun Days Out near Merley Woodland Park

The perfect place to visit on a rainy day this large Sealife Centre is currently offering 2 tickets for £15.00 when you book online. Top attractions include the amazing shark tunnel, the rock pools and the otter enclosure. This year Loch Lomond Sealife Centre is also home to Cammy - the only Giant Sea Turtle in Scotland! The centre also offers visitors an educational experience with talks and hands on events taking place daily.
Monkey World - about 11 Miles
Monkey World is not only a local attraction but the work they carry out is amazing.  Rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys and assisting governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates are just some of the purposes of the centre. You get to see the primates themselves many of which have become famous from appearing on the TV show Monkey World - a documentary about this place. Open year round we think this is one of best attractions in Dorset and you even get the chance to adopt a monkey if you choose.
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a magical place to visit with grand gardens and plenty of animals to meet.  From goats and ponies to alpacas and pot bellied pigs this attraction is excellent value for money.  You can feel free to explore the grounds too which are especially lovely on sunny days.  You will see majestic floral displays, stone terraces, a temple and even a lake.
Dorset Teddy Bear Museum - about 20 Miles
This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
