With stunning views across the countryside, and set in an Area of Outstanding Beauty, Cheddar Woods Resort and Spa offer beautifully furnished lodges and a host of activities to suit people of all ages. The park nestles on the slopes of the Mendip Hills, close to Wells, Weston-Super-Mare and Street.

There's a magnificent tropical indoor pool as well as a fully equipped gym and health club. The kids will love to try their hands at target shooting, fencing, WaterWalkerz, sea scooters, raft building and snorkelling and there's also a soft play area and a Go Juniors activity programme. You can hire bikes at the park and set off to explore this part of Somerset.

Axbridge Lodge Premier is brand new for 2013 - it sleeps up to six people and has been decadently designed with every comfort in mind - a master double bedroom with ensuite power shower, 40" flat screen TV and patio doors that lead out onto a decking area with a sunken outdoor hot tub.

Ashton Windmill at Axbridge is an 18th century flour mill with great views over Cheddar Gorge and of course, the Caves themselves are well worth visiting, with their mirror pools, stalagtites and stalagmites.

Our Top Tip
"There are lots of good local pubs serving food too, from the Old Thatched Cottage at Weston to the Hole in the Wall in Bath."

Beautiful lodge, very comfortable beds, pillows etc.

A couple of niggles - nowhere to hand up coats or wet towels. No shelves inside fridge door so when you opened it, everything on the bottom shelf fell out! Upholstery was a little dirty but I guess this was because we had a pet friendly lodge (even though we didn't bring a pet ourselves)

This is the best lodge we have stayed, we have stayed in 3 of the other lodges on site but this one was the best with great views

The lodge is beautiful. Loved the extra towels and robes.
Only criticism, not enough crockery/cutlery. If you used a plate for biccies and one mug for a sneaky cuppa then there were only five left clean for meal time. Use a knife to prepare meals and then short for cutlery to lay the table for six.

Nicola
Lovely place if you are looking for a quiet relaxing break. Difficult to get a taxi into cheddar as it's so close but a bit too far to walk at night. Taxis will not take you the short distance.
Maxine
Girl’s weekend, beautiful lodge with a view and a hot tub. Well thought out and planned.

I went away for My 50th birthday with nine friends and had a lovely time everything thing was really goid would definately go again
Susan
We recently enjoyed a family get together with 15 adults and 3 babies! Everyone was very impressed with the standard of the accommodation and the leisure facilities. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. One even stopped her golf buggy to say hello and have a little chat with our 18 month old grand-daughter as we walked down to the leisure complex. We will definitely come again!
Hannah
I stay at cheddar woods about 3 times each year. I visit with a group of girls in May and then with my family in the summer and winter. I've always enjoyed my stay and leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. The lodges are clean and well kept, as are the hot tubs. The staff are really friendly and the main complex is tidy and inviting. This year my husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary and had so much fun joining in with some of the activities such as archery and shooting. We also treated ourselves to messages to help us unwind. The treatments here are always brilliant and on time. The girls are very professional and understand what oils to use for the treatments. When we stayed a few weeks ago, we ate in the restaurant where the staff were always around to serve and help with any questions. The food was very good value for money and tastes great. We honestly can't imagine not coming to cheddar woods. We are always so excited to book our break and count down the days till we are there again.
Paul
We love the peacefulness, the standard of accommodation and the activities available for our Son. I would recommend to anyone, with kids or not, there is something for all.
