The lodges at Swandown are truly spectacular - unbelievably stylish, individually designed and with amazing views over the glorious Somerset countryside and the historic Cricket St Thomas estate. Swandown Lodges sit between two bustling market towns - Crewkerne and Chard - where you'll find plenty of shopping opportunities.

The facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, a leisure complex, spa, sauna and steam room. Bike hire is available and there are plenty of nature trails to explore; you could go fishing and try your hand at clay pigeon shooting too. The children will be kept amused with the outdoor adventure playground, a selection of board games and a Wii - and there is a great family pub within walking distance.

Poldon Lodge is brand new for 2012, a luxurious and contemporary two storey lodge that sleeps six people. It's actually designed upside down - the bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs and the living area is on the first floor! Large patio doors lead out on to your own private balcony with an outdoor hot tub and spectacular views. On chilly evenings, you could light the log burner and enjoy a Blu-ray film on the flat screen TV.

Swandown Lodges sit right on the Somerset/Dorset border, not far from both Lyme Regis and Yeovil. The Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site and there are some amazing beaches to discover - Brean Beach at Burnham-on-Sea, part of a seven mile stretch of sands, is in the Good Beach Guide and ideal for walking and sports. There are plenty of towns and villages to explore such as Honiton, a busy market town and Beer, a picturesque little smugglers' village.

One week at swandown lodge, best break ever, so peaceful, beautiful lodges, this was our third time, usually we book for 3nights. Which was never long enough. The setting of the lodges are picturess, sitting in the hot tub watching the sunset or sunrise, you cant beat it. You feel so relaxed. I would like to thank Matt for being so helpful.. he alway had a smile on his face.. cant wait to book again. Millie

We travelled as a family of 6, 3 adults including a pensioner, and 3 children aged 7-14. We had an amazing holiday from start to finish. Both Andy and Matt were so helpful in the run-up to, and during, our break. We had some maintenance issues with the property on arrival and these were quickly rectified. Having the option of having our food shop delivered on our arrival day really helped as we usually spend the first couple of hours of any holiday sorting food shopping. You could also have takeaway food delivered to the lodge. There are also several major supermarkets within a short drive (7 mins to a large Tesco superstore). The site was lovely with stunning views and was secure from unwanted vehicles entering, with a coded security gate. We loved having unlimited access to the indoor pool (which we had to ourselves every time we used it!), plus the free bike, DVD, board game and computer console rental was great also. They also provide free outdoor play accessories such as balls and kids rackets etc... for the small sports area (tennis/football nets plus basketball hoop) and they have a small play area with wooden climbing frames and tyres. Me and my mum made use of the Warner leisure hotel on site. We had afternoon yea, which was mediocre at best to ne honest, free spa access (lovely) and as Swandown guests we got 20% off their spa treatments which was an added bonus. The ladies in the spa were fab! Lots of advice in Swandown reception about where to go and what to do and there really is lots all within an hour's drive. The local pub, the eindwhistle inn)is very nice for a drink but we did not enjoy our experience in the restaurant unfortunately so cannot recommend that. We enjoyed a visit to monkey world in dorset (anazing), to weston-super-mare in somerset (lovely day out), plus we loved fossil hunting on the very pretty charmouth beach. But the most amazing thing for us was the lodge. We stayed in Goldenhaye and it was amazing! Two stories high, floor to ceiling windiws with lovely views, underfloor heating, log fire place, all three bedrooms ensuite, and outside thete was a bbq, seating and hot tub which was always kept at the perfect temperature. The lodge was very homely with every amenity we could ask for and all really good quality. The beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept in with high quality feather bedding. The lodge really was the highlight for us all. We never book the same place twice but we would return here in a heartbeat.
