The lodges at Swandown are truly spectacular - unbelievably stylish, individually designed and with amazing views over the glorious Somerset countryside and the historic Cricket St Thomas estate. Swandown Lodges sit between two bustling market towns - Crewkerne and Chard - where you'll find plenty of shopping opportunities.

The facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, a leisure complex, spa, sauna and steam room. Bike hire is available and there are plenty of nature trails to explore; you could go fishing and try your hand at clay pigeon shooting too. The children will be kept amused with the outdoor adventure playground, a selection of board games and a Wii - and there is a great family pub within walking distance.

Poldon Lodge a luxurious and contemporary two storey lodge that sleeps six people. It's actually designed upside down - the bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs and the living area is on the first floor! Large patio doors lead out on to your own private balcony with an outdoor hot tub and spectacular views. On chilly evenings, you could light the log burner and enjoy a Blu-ray film on the flat screen TV.

Swandown Lodges sit right on the Somerset/Dorset border, not far from both Lyme Regis and Yeovil. The Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site and there are some amazing beaches to discover - Brean Beach at Burnham-on-Sea, part of a seven mile stretch of sands, is in the Good Beach Guide and ideal for walking and sports. There are plenty of towns and villages to explore such as Honiton, a busy market town and Beer, a picturesque little smugglers' village.

Swandown Lodges Reviews

"This was our second time back at Swandown Lodges. The lodge was very clean and had everything you need, set in a lovely location with stunning views of the Cricket St Thomas estate and we loved the hot tub. We liked the fact that each Lodge can book a 40 minute slot for sole use of the pool which is a great idea. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Our only negative is that we booked a lodge that would allow our dog, however just bear in mind that none of the garden areas to the lodges are enclosed and so you will have to keep your eye on your dog(s) at all times."

"Fabulous break away with family. Lodge was stunning, beautiful surroundings, short 2 min walk to pub, pool so warm and loved by my children. Beds extremely comfortable. Staff very Friendly. Lodge has woodburner which was lovely but not needed as underfloor heating was lovely. Kitchen had every possible appliance, equipment needed. Bathrooms warm and clean and spacious. Definitely recommend this lodge if travelling with family. We didn't want to leave it was just perfect! The snug was enjoyed by my 10 year old he enjoyed having his own chill out space and the dressing area was loved by my 13 year old! Parents had their own space downstairs which was nice for them the only thing missing was a mirror and TV in their room but wasn't a problem. Definitely a place to relax and unwind from our hectic lifestyle, and plenty of places to visit on doorstep. Cider mill is worth a visit too.
Thank you for such a lovely break."
Rebecca - Nov 2019

David - Nov 2019
"Great small site but perfect for time away. Pub across the road for food if you don't want to cook but plenty of facilities in the lodge if you do."
