Nestling right on the edge of Radnor Forest, with its excellent walking routes high above the valleys, Lower Fishpools Lodges is a rural retreat with a multitude of lanes and tracks for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. This is the perfect holiday destination for people who love outdoor activities but who also enjoy relaxing in a luxurious and stylish lodge with a sunken hot tub and gorgeous views across Welsh countryside.

Powys is at the heart of Wales and has a diverse landscape that encompasses wild mountains and valleys, medieval castles and secluded villages. There is a wealth of pubs and restaurants within easy driving distance – The Crown Inn at Powys is very close and serves traditional home cooked food with a great choice of beers. Lower Fishpools has its own stables so it is ideal for keen horse riders.

Bleddfa Lodge is beautifully designed and equipped with everything you might need in a luxurious holiday home. It sleeps up to four people – the double bedroom has an ensuite shower and there is also a family bathroom. The living area is spacious and open plan and has a log burner for cosy evenings in and the large decked verandah has garden furniture and a sunken hot tub

There is a riding school at Underhill Stables in Llandrindod Wells where you can enjoy the beauty of the countryside on horseback, whatever your age or ability. You could go trout and Grayling fishing on the banks of the River Wye and bird watching at Gilfach Nature Reserve in Rhayader.

Our Top Tip
"Hereford Cathedral is well worth a visit, as is the lovely town of Ludlow with its winding streets and excellent choice of restaurants."

Overall very nice lodge. Lovely surrounding towns and forest and close to elan valley. Lodge could so with a lick of paint in parts and a feather dusting for the odd cobbweb i noticed. Apart a txt for the security box for the key the owner didn't introduce themselves at all, not a big deal but some would have liked been shown around. The surrounding towns are nice enough but very little there. Also phone signal and internet is non-existent in these lodges!! Hot tub really nice, lights in tub not working with only 1 overhead spot light which otherwise would be pitch black outside. Had a nice time. Would be a good base to spend a week with the intention of travelling the area.

Beautiful spacious lodge, beautiful unspoilt surroundings, great location for dogs and walks, large hot tub. Great escape lodge for getting away from it all. Delivered on every aspect and was great value for money. Me and my boys (french bulldogs) loved it and would definitely come again!

First time to wales, beautiful place and surrounding towns. The Cabin was great and comfy and beautiful scenery all around, we took our dogs and only had to open the gate to a big field. plenty of walking spots around the area. we will be returning again.

Love the solitude. Running in the forest with just noise of my feet is amazing. A log fire a hot tub and a bottle of prosecco. What more could we have asked for. Total relaxation. Awesome!

It's is my second visit to fishpool lodges. Had a wonderful time. Fantastic lodge and outdoor hottub. Beautiful scenery and the most important thing dog friendly
Ceri
Perfect place for a little getaway especially if you have a dog! Not too much around the area tho and there is no signal, wifi or 3G which for the most part pure bliss but a tad annoying if you did need to make a call! Would definitely recommend!
