Kailzie Gardens - EH45 9HT

Kailzie Gardens are another popular attraction and are an excellent place for a day out in the summertime. The gardens are a peaceful and colourful place to spend the day with a wide variety of flora and fauna on display. Other attractions here include live viewing of the Tweed Valley ospreys, a Gift Shop where children can pick up a souvenir, a Tearoom serving tasty local produce and home cooked meals, a Children's Corner, Putting Green, and a gorgeous private 2½ mile stretch on the River Tweed where visitors can enjoy Fly Fishing and a Picnic Area.

With easy access from the A1 this lovely farm just north of Berwick makes a fantastic family day out. Follow the farm trail and meet an array of friendly farm animals. Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples. As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there. Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.

Smoo Cave is a popular attraction which can be enjoyed all year round but visitors should wrap up warm during the winter months. This spectacular limestone sea-cave in Sutherland is the largest in Britain and is simply spectacular. The cave was formed by a burn that runs down into the rear chamber, as well as erosion caused by the sea. Guests can take the path from the car park which runs right through the cave. Boat trips are available in the summer months and are an excellent way to fully appreciate the cave from all angles.
