We love the North Yorkshire Moors – they have everything from beautiful sandy beaches and lively seaside resorts to tranquil countryside and quaint postcard villages. Blackwell Lodges with its luxurious log cabins with private hot tubs and superb facilities is the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area.

Blackwell Lodges has its own bar and restaurant and an adventure playground for the children, so it is ideal for both couples and families. You’ll have an excellent choice of restaurants and bars in Stokesley, a quaint market town, just three miles away. Chapters Restaurant, at the foot of the North Yorkshire Moors, serves classic dishes in the restaurant for formal dining with a more laid back experience in the brasserie.

The Roseberry Lodge is superbly equipped and utterly contemporary. It sleeps six people and has a master bedroom with ensuite shower. Doors lead from the bedroom onto a private decking area with your own hot tub and beautiful views across the countryside. The kitchen and lounge are open plan and attention has been paid to every detail to ensure that this lodge is stylish, spacious and designed to the very highest standard.

Darlington and Thirsk are both within easy reach of Blackwell Lodges. Thirsk is a pretty market town with some charming shops, an excellent market – open on Mondays and Saturdays – an art gallery and ‘The World of James Herriot’. Take to the water at the Darlington Dolphin Centre, a swimming pool with diving boards and water slides, squash courts and a fully equipped gym. And you can enjoy some amazing walks in North Yorkshire, such as the Cleveland National Trail or the Abbey Walk at Helmsley.

We were lucky to have sunshine the whole time. The location is one for walking but if weather is bad there is not much else in the near vicinity to do.

was absolutely perfect, everything we asked for and more. Perfect for just relaxing and having a break away, needed to leave a day early due to family emergency and there was no hassle just handed the key in no questions asked, wonderful. Would book again for sure! especially when we booked 2 days before we went!

Great lodge, very clean and spacious. Kitchen had all you need to cook, and nearby pub restaurant (Thai) does a great takeaway so you don't have to cook.
Views of lovely nearby countryside obscured by hedges and fence on "out" side, and the "in" side looks into caravan / static park (a nice decent quiet one though).
A real log cabin - looks better in real life than the photos make out. WiFi worked fine. Hot tub in private screened area. A bit expensive, but you're worth it!

The Roseberry Lodge was excellent, a fantastic lodge all home comforts. Good value for money. We would have loved to have stayed longer, but had to be back at work. I have already recommended Roseberry lodge to friends and family. I look forward to staying there again in the near future.

Best Wishes
Julie

Lodge was clean and tidy with all the facilities you could expect. Situated on a small and peaceful site and well placed for site seeing in the area.
Ian
Very enjoyable stay in pleasant surroundings with excellent lodge facilities. Just a pity that the wi-fi was unavailable for 3 of our 4 day stay. It shouldn't be advertised as available when this problem is a common one at that location.
Jennifer
Lodge was better than expected. Very clean and hot tub was amazing.
Julie
beautiful location,if you want a relaxing holiday this is the place, hot tub was fantastic, lovely pub and great food and lovely people x
John
Accommodation was very good and comfortable. The only complaint was that for the whole stay the Wifi did not work although we were offered the use at the pub. I believe the owner did his best to restore it but was let down by the supplier.
Lucy
The lodge was perfect. I can't fault a thing. We arrived mid afternoon to a welcome bottle of wine and a fully heated hot tub. The lodge is nicely decorated and the kitchen is fully kitted out. The location is beautiful with views of the moors. There's a country park nearby and the coast and tourist attractions are in easy reach. The local pub is a 2 minute walk away. There's a full range of good ales and wines. They specialise in Thai food. While the food was nice, it's restaurant prices but take away quality. I wouldn't hesitate to rebook.
Deborah
Lovely lodge and really relaxing holiday. Thank you

Absolutely fab great time away really enjoyed it lovely clean lodge pub had fantastic food only problem was the park was out of action and the kids got a bit bored but by the looks of things it was been updated so would really make ithe the perfect place!

Fun Days Out near Blackwell Lodges

Big Sheep - about 17 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
Lightwater Valley - about 21 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
Yorkshire Lavender - about 22 Miles
Yorkshire Lavender is an amazing award winning attraction offering breathtaking panoramic views of York, a Café, Plant Nursery and Lavender Gardens. The 60 acre site is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is an excellent choice for a day trip. The onsite shops sells Lavender products such as bath and body treats, skincare, medicine and herbal remedies.
Flamingo Land - about 22 Miles
Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
