These impressive lodges are ideal for those seeking something extra special. The luxurious lodges and cottages are beautifully set in the grounds of the historic Gisburn Estate and come very highly recommended.  The area around the site is one of great natural beauty with the stunning Ribble Valley (the inspiration for Tolkien's Lord of the Rings) right on the doorstep.  The Yorkshire Dales are also within easy reach offering numerous outdoor pursuits.

Each lodge has been designed to meet the needs of the most discerning guest and manage to seamlessly blend contemporary design with rural charm and comfort.  Enjoy your own private decking area with a sumptuous outdoor hot tub or take advantage of the on site massage therapist to really unwind. A range of traditional beauty treatments are available along with some more holistic alternatives.  Fantastic semi detached cottages with their own gardens and private hot tubs offer another option for accommodation.

Nearby Pendle Hill offers a challenge to keen walkers who can reward themselves afterwards at the famous Assheton Arms in Downham village (the setting of the BBC's Born and Breed drama).  Just a ten minute walk through the Estate from your lodge, you'll discover the stunning market village of Gisburn with a delightful pub, award winning Italian restaurant and quaint shops selling local organic produce gifts and crafts. The Lancashire coastline and numerous market towns are also within reach.

There are four types of lodge to choose from. The Milan Lodge offers superb luxury and a large open plan living area along with two bedrooms. The Moray Lodge is perfect for two couples and has 2 double bedrooms as well as a private outdoor hot tub. The Balmoral Lodge is larger and has three bedrooms and a large living area as well as a patio.

We had a lovely holiday our only complaint was that the wi fi did not work in the lodge having requested it. We had a 14 year old with us so that was one of our requirements. We did request the grass to be cut when we arrived and the staff were great and got it cut immediately for us.
Frank

We had two lodges between our family, a wentworth and a moorland and both were first class, everything modern and spotless. Hot tubs were lovely and warm for our arrival and they even have the heating and tv on for you getting there which makes the place feel very welcoming. Swimming pool area is lovely although the shower didn't work and it's about a 5/10 minute walk down unless you are staying in the stable lodge. Also there are a lot of rules about the swimming area - no food/drink, no music, no inflatables, under 18s must be accompanied, but the most strange is no dogs, given that the whole place is supposed to be dog friendly (even the cafe). Combined with the fact that you can't leave your dog in the lodge unsupervised, I don't know how a couple visiting with a dog are meant to use the pool together. Also you need to go to reception to get the code for the pool gate each day as it changes but what they don't bother telling you is that you have to put the palm of your hand on the keypad to turn it on before you put the code in, so I phoned reception thinking that it wasn't working and myself, my sister and my daughter were left sitting on the steps for 15 minutes until a maintenance man (who was actually very friendly) came down and showed me how to work it. I wasn't the only one left wondering though, I had to open the gate for 3 other groups of people whilst I was there that day because they couldn't figure it out either. A simple sign on the gate or a word of advice from the reception staff could easily have solved this. Calling it the 'reception' is also a bit of a stretch, it's basically a shelf on a wall of the cafe, and I wouldn't have minded but the staff are less than efficient at dealing with you, we were waiting to be checked in the best part of half an hour and we waited 15 minutes for the swimming pool code one day. I feel the problem is that there doesn't seem to be a dedicated receptionist, all of the staff are also working in the cafe so it seems that reception duties are squeezed in between serving food. Having said all that, I would definitely stay at Ribblesdale Lodges again, the problems we encountered were minor compared with how beautiful the lodges are and how immaculately kept and peaceful the park is.
Andrea
We had a lovely holiday in July. The lodge was lovely and extremely private ( we stayed in no 26). The hot tub was perfect for relaxing each evening. The restaurant on site is very nice and reasonably priced - plus you can take the dog inside which is a huge plus for us. Site very nice and well maintained. Yorkshire sales are beautiful with some lovely places to visit. Would definitely stay again !!
