Cheddar Woods Resort and Spa FAQs

Where is Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa?

Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa is set on the slopes of the Mendip Hills in Cheddar, Somerset. It's a truly beautiful part of the UK which is famous for its Limestone hills which rise to over 1000 feet. Here you'll find caves, including the Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, and Gough's Cave.

Where can you park?

Parking is nice and easy here as you can park right next to your lodge. You can leave your car there for the duration of your stay.

Can I bring my own cot bed?

Yes but mattresses or bedding cannot be provided for cots, and some accommodation types may not have sufficient space to accommodate a cot bed.

Can you get Tesco, Asda and other shopping delivered here?

Yes, you can get shopping delivered here. Just set the delivery slot to after 6pm and give the name of your lodge. This a brilliant idea that I saw someone doing on a lodge break. Why spend hours packing and unpacking your food and supplies when you can get it directly delivered to your door?

Is there a shop at Cheddar Woods Resort?

Yes, there is a small shop where you can buy the essentials you might need for your break.

Can you rent a high chair?

Yes, high chairs area available at Cheddar Woods either at the time of your booking, or when you get there. The fee is £15 for the length of your stay.

Is there an enclosed space for pets?

If you're taking your dog with you to Cheddar Woods Resort, you have a dedicated enclosed decking area and the lodges have gates that will keep pets from harm.

Cheddar Woods Resort and Spa Reviews

"Value for money it was really good but it did need some upgrades and basic maintenance. Could have been cleaner"
Bethanie - Apr 2025
"Excellent lodge, comfortable, clean spacious amazing . Location excellent in the resort would definitely book again"
Karin - Apr 2025
"We booked here as the Premier Lodge we booked in to was described as accessible and wheelchair friendly, but the approach to the Lodge was difficult for my husband to negotiate, being curved and quite steep for a wheelchair. Once inside it was accessible to him using his rollator, but the toilet in the wet room was too close to the sink with no leg room for him to use comfortably. And as we left the staff who dropped off the clean linen for the next guests placed it right in the middle of the path out of the lodge!"

"Lodge had everything we needed, it was clean, bright and spacious. The hot tub was clean and well maintained."
Verified Guest - Apr 2025
"Nice lodge, well equipped. Some parts were tired, but it was mainly comfortable, spacious and we enjoyed our break!"
Martin - Apr 2025
"Lodge showing signs of being tired, even though due to Cheddar Woods staff we had a fantastic time.Merely a suggestion, surrounding decking could undertake closer scrutiny before lodge becoming available for new incumbents."
David - Apr 2025
"Clean lodge but a little tired. Kitchen cupboard door had been removed rather than fixed. Location was perfect."
Jan - Apr 2025
"So happy with this resort. We usually book AirBnbs or Center Parcs and are 100% Hoseasons converts now! The location is spot on for day trips, the facilities available are leaner in comparison to Center Parcs but fantastic value for money. Every member of staff we interacted with was friendly, polite, informative and helpful. The resort was apparently fully booked but always felt quiet and service was swift. Lodges are well insulated and warm, if there was noise at night we never heard it. They are also well equipped and very comfy beds. 10/10."
Verified Guest - Apr 2025
"Comfortable, clean and modern lodge with adequate space for our family. Very good cooking and bathroom facilities."
Verified Guest - Apr 2025
"Would have been excellent all round if there had been instruction leaflets as to how to use the cooker and washing machine"
Verified Guest - Apr 2025
"This lodge was tired and shabby"
Verified Guest - Apr 2025
"Great lodge, stayed in same lodge on previous stay so thankyou following through on our request."
Verified Guest - Apr 2025
"We decided to choose a larger lodge with hot tub and unfortunately we were very disappointed as the lodge was very tired and in need of a bit of care and updating. Also the BBQ which was advertised with the lodge had no gas in the bottle and they didnt have any spare, which was very disappointing as the weather was glorious. Also no welcome pack or robes for the hot tub and the glass surround on the decking was covered in bird mess. The Brunel Premier Elegance Lodge definitely had lost its elegance ??"
Verified Guest - Apr 2025
"Very clean and well equipped kitchen. Third bedroom (twin) was tiny, just 2 beds with no space between them and a very small wardrobe. Fine for 1 small person but not suitable really for 2 people to share."
Jenny - Apr 2025
"Our Lodge was lovely and clean upon arrival! We had a nice decking and plenty of room to enjoy! We were surrounded by lovely scenery, trees and animals, and the weather was pretty nice for a couple of days too. It was definitely comfortable. It's ashame we didn't think to book a lodge with a hot tub but all well. One of my family members allowed me to use theirs for a while. ????So yeah, pretty good. ????"
Jamie - Apr 2025
"Lovely lodge, spacious, and has everything we could ask for."
Wendy - Apr 2025
"great value for money, it was one of the cheapest with a hot tub which is I think it was alittle more used than the last one we stayed in. However we had everything we needed and the was clean and tidy. The teens loved the hot tub and the space was ideal."
Verified Guest - Apr 2025
"The accommodation was spacious and had all required chocking equipment. Beds comfortable and nice hot showers. That were a few small things that needed fixing hot tub cover zip was broken so water kept going into the top and outdoor table was missing a glass top. They had run out of gas for bbq but staff did their best to try find a partially filled bottle from the site."
Verified Guest - Apr 2025
"Overall the lodge is lovely and has everything you need. Lot of dust/webs down the side of the wardrobe in the main bedroom and all the beds have metal frames which are extremely noisy - you wake up every time you move"
Franklyn - Apr 2025
"Very easy to use your website."
Jason - Apr 2025
"Very dated and not very well maintained."
Craig - Apr 2025
"Beautiful lodge with everything we needed. Very clean."
Jaime Ann - Apr 2025
"EXCELLENT ALL ROUND."
Diane - Apr 2025
"We found this particular lodge quite tired, kitchen cupboard door missing, kitchen blind and curtains frayed ect. However we have booked this lodge again due to disabled facilities. Would be nice if this was attended too. 1"

"It was a lovely trip overall, just a couple of little issues here and there."
