Westholme Lodges Reviews

Craig Marsh
Wow, What a fantastic holiday. The lodges are like home from home and offer a very high standard. The staff are wonderful and will do their best to help you in any way and the on site restaurant is very good and quite reasonably priced. The grounds are very well kept and the hot tub was an added bonus after a long walk in the dales. It is a must to visit the falls and the Wensleydale Creamery. There are not many shops around so do stock up prior to your visit. There are some great local pubs to visit that also do great food but might be best to book in advance. All in all, its a fantastic place to visit. Looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely views, fab lodge great place. Just what we were looking for.
Hot tub was excellent. Lodge was a little tired and needed furniture replacing. Kitchen was basic but adequate. Surroundings were beautiful. Staff very polite, knowledgeable and friendly. Dining in the onsite restaurant was excellent.
Great break. Very relaxing. Highly recommended.
We had a great time. Good local attractions and the lodge was nice and cosy.
Been here twice now and can’t fault anything
One of the nicest breaks we've had in this country! The location and setting of the site is stunning, it's brilliant to feel so cut off from the world when your phone loses signal whilst still being able to use your phone by reception if you need to. Lovely and clean accommodation and the hot tub was lovely! Just what we needed after trekking up hills all day!! Can't wait to return. Sorry for leaving our pillows on the sofa and cornflakes in the cupboard though!
Lovely little cabin, and great area the only problem is the semi detached cabins can be very noisy depending on who the neighbors are. But overdue enjoyable back to nature get away.

Fun Days Out near Westholme Estate Lodges

Big Sheep - about 15 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
Lightwater Valley - about 18 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
Fountains Abbey - about 19 Miles
This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
