Families, couples and groups of friends seeking luxurious accommodation and relaxing location close to a beach should look no further than Auchenlarie. The site has a friendly atmosphere and benefits from a fabulous location in Wigtown Bay. This fantastic setting affords breathtaking views and the direct access to a sandy beach is a real bonus.
The park is attractively landscaped and children have plenty of open space to play. Within the grounds is a modern Health Club, complete with indoor pool, gym, sauna and solarium - the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing! Locally there are many attractions including several historic castles and houses, as well as areas of beautiful forest for walking and cycling. Golf enthusiasts will find no less than 30 courses within easy reach. Fishing is also available just a short stroll from the park.
Back on site the restaurant serves tasty local food and there are two bars. Other facilities include an adventure playground, crazy golf, an amusement arcade, function room and children's club with "Peter the Panda".

Super deluxe 12ft-wide caravan with one double and two twin. TV in all bedrooms. Double glazed and heated throughout. Decking with outdoor hot tub. No pets.
My wife and I have visited the park THIRTEEN times now.
Initially we camped and in later years we have rented their caravans.
We have taken our own children and grandchildren, we will be going back this year, so it really cannot be bad ........ Need I say more.
Caravan was quite new and in a quiet part of the park. Have no complaints.
Great holiday with the kids, bit spoiled by older kids tho in the playpark and play area. Play area and arcade area also needs bit updating as a bit tatty. Eating there also is a bit pricey. Great that wee shop there as there is not much near hand. Caravan was lovely and the scenery was to die for. Passes were also a bit pricey for only being there 4 days. Overall a good holiday.
Fantastic caravan and park, we will definitely visit again, wish we had stayed for 7nights instead of just the 4.

Would recommend the Auchenlarie gold 2 very comfortable.

Finest caravan we've been in up til now highly recommended
Great caravan. Beautifully clean. The one and only negative is there was no outdoor furniture. A wooden table and chairs would have been perfect for chilling in the big veranda area as we had really good weather.
We had lovely weather which always helps. Two grandchildren age 6 and 8 were in the pool every day they loved it. Moss yard a beach just round the corner was beautiful the beach at the site is down a steep hill so not suitable for seniors like me although there is a nice pebble part . The crazy golf on the site is a disgrace needs attention especially as you have to pay to use it. Everything else on the site is good the kids loved the clubs for them morning and evening so they made plenty of friends. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty to do outside of the site if you are there for a week or two. The chocolate factory, ice cream factory, wigtown scotlands booktown, and Lagan outdoor centre which is opposite the site are all worth a visit, but we found plenty to do on site. Will be back probably next year. Should mention the restaurant on the site is very good we ate there two nights.
Caravan was spotless all the staff on the park were really nice and helpful if needed location was lovely peaceful and good to relax we had a great time and will be visiting again
Really enjoyed our holiday only thing I didn't like was having to spend 7.50 to use my card to pay for everything on site and also being charged 1.85 to use the atm machine
Absolutely brilliant holiday! The caravan was really clean and so lovely the facilities we used were brilliant and the staff were helpful to our every need. We will definetly be back next year!
Best relaxing holiday we've had!!
Great holiday, good facilities, friendly helpful staff. Will return!
Caravan was amazing the views over the sea was great.the evening enter tamest on Saturday was poor .our 4year old grandson was very disappoint in the clown
An outdoor activity center suitable for families. Featuring one of Europe's longest zip wires, jeep driving, grass sledging, archery, outdoor scooters. A mix of fun and adreneline rides and a lot more.
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
