Derbyshire is renowned for its unspoilt countryside and breathtaking views - and these two and three bedroom lodges sit in an idyllic waterside setting in the heart of The National Forest. Designed to the very highest standard, Ashby Woulds Lodges and Spa is close to Matlock and Chatsworth and just three miles from Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

One side of the park has stunning views across Derbyshire, and from the other, you can see the beautiful Leicestershire countryside. Avid anglers will love the fishing opportunities, you can hire a boat and explore the canals and waterways - and go air rifle shooting in 30 acre woodland on the private estate close by. You can even arrange to have a spa therapy in your own private lodge!

For a truly luxurious lodge experience, we don't think you can do better than Aspen Lodge 6. This stunning glass-fronted lodge has gorgeous canalside views and its own private hot tub on the large decking area. There's a spacious ensuite walk-in shower, granite worktops in the kitchen, adjustable lighting and an in-lodge sound system in the open plan living area.

There are dozens of attractions within a short drive of Ashby Woulds, including Alton Towers, Drayton Manor and the world famous Belfry Golf Course. The Peak District National Park is ideal for walking, cycling, horse riding and days out and Conkers Attraction offers a variety of outdoor fun, including activity trails and a thrilling Hi Ropes course with climbing nets and walkways!

Our Top Tip
"If you love theme parks then a visit to Alton Towers is a must."

Lovely lodge, helpful and friendly staff in a quiet setting. My only issue is the area the lodges are located is very run down and as a result I would not return.

Only issue was fan wasn't working or the audio system. Apart from that, perfect

Fun Days Out near Ashby Woulds Lodges and Spa

Conkers - about 0 Miles
Conkers is an award winning attraction located in the midst of the National Forest.  Combining both indoor and outdoor activities this is an all weather attraction in the Peak District.  It's really easy to get to as well, just 5 miles from Junction 11 off the M42.  Designed for all ages some of the highlights include the Enchanted Forest Adventure play area and a simulated Tree Top walk.  Look out for special seasonal events such as October half term and the Annual Halloween Party.  At the moment you can receive a fantastic discount if you book your tickets online.
Rosliston Forestry Centre is a beautiful woodland site with tranquil areas for Fishing as well as some beautiful meadows and a lake. For children there is a Play Area to run around on and during school holidays organised activities such as range led walks are available. The site is also an excellent place for Walking, Cycling and Horse Riding. Other available events taking place this year include an Archery drop in session, a Christmas Crafting Afternoon and a Mince Pie and Mulled Wine Walk.
Highfields Happy Hens - about 10 Miles
This unique farm makes a great day out for families with young children and also couples who enjoy getting out and exploring.  With an array of farm animals including goats, pigs and sheep this farm is a popular attraction in the Etwall area of Derbyshire.  Apart from the animals there are fun activities to take part in such as collecting and grading your own eggs and a hay play area for the little ones. The farm tea room serves drinks, cakes and light bites, the place to go when you are in need of a rest and a hot drink.
With family fun for everyone a trip to this farm makes a memorable day out in Staffordshire.  Some highlights of the day might include the chicks and ducklings in a basket, goat kid walking, bottle feeding the lambs or bunny brushing.  Located in the Tamworth area of Stafforshire this attraction is easy to get to.  Look out for special events taking place throughout the year including weekend and school holidays when extra activities may be organised.  Don't forget to meet Chirpy while you are there - the extra large chick!
