Springhouse Country Park has a fantastic rural setting just a stones throw from Hadrian's Wall.  Springhouse Country Park is a small and friendly holiday park offering a superb base from which to explore the region. The park is home to a superb array of wildlife and you can discover many walking paths and nature trails through the beautiful Slaley Forest and the local countryside right on your doorstep.

Close by the market town of Hexham with its ancient Abbey dating back to 674AD is well worth a visit. Charming villages and charming little country pubs are plentiful in this friendly part of the country and further afield you can discover the delights of the Cathedral city of Durham and enjoy great shopping and nightlife in Newcastle. Northumberland National Park and the breathtaking North East coastline are also within easy reach and offer an excellent range of outdoor activities.

Springhouse Country Park offers accommodation in a range of caravans including the basic but comfortable Slaley which has either two or three bedrooms. The Hexham are more luxurious and larger offering spacious accommodation. Hadrian's Cottage is also available and is a good choice for groups. This cosy cottage has four bedrooms and is well appointed with a private garden and hot tub.

We had a great weekend at Springwood. Our doughter is 3 and it was really nice for her to toddle around the site, chase the birds and play with the other kids. Everyone there very friendly , lots of owned caravans so a sense of community. Nice and close so ideal for a short weekend break.

Good well managed site and mobile home, very clean and tidy and easy to get to Hexham. However the mobile would benefit from more attention to detail on the equipment provided inside the home. Only one waste paper bin for the whole unit wholly inadequate, no toilet brushes or mini bins in bathrooms. Lack of cleaning equipment like no dustpan and brush or mops and buckets. Poor lighting in bedrooms, impossible to read in bed no bedside lights. Also no beer glasses, who can be in Northumberland minus beer glasses! Having used mobile homes all over France and the UK we have a permanent camping box with back up equipment in so no big problem for us knowing how many useful items can be lacking, but dustpan and brush isn't included. Also net curtains would be useful at the main lounge window, a lot of time it felt we were living in goldfish bowl and everyone could see directly in. Attention needs to be given to the main site entrance, so many pothole to avoid this detracted from the very nice entrance, but I have experienced much worse along the way but it needs fixing. We would use the site again and would recommend to friends with the above mentioned, just a bit more thought needed along the way to improve certain bits, but for us good value for money.

I suppose a bigger TV would have been nice to have, but then again we may have stayed in and watched more, instead of being out and about

Really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the site. The wildlife of free roaming rabbits was fabulous all around the caravans. Very friendly and helpful staff, wonderful restaurant and a lounge area to relax in with films to borrow and games to play.

The odd fitting was broken but nothing serious. Wouldn't stop me going again. We used it as a base for adventures and was the perfect place to return to

Wonderful! Really spacious and clean. Came complete with dishwasher and washing machine. The double bedroom had an ensure and there was also a separate shower with toilet. Could not find fault with anything. A nice extra touch was the provision of towels and toothpaste, as well as a small shower gel, washing up liquid and tea towel. Thank you for this!

Two twin rooms are very small, however are only meant for children one assumes.
Very tiny freezer compartment.
Plenty of storage.
The location as we were informed in the confirmation of our booking, was indeed very remote. But it was the most relaxing of holidays we've ever had. The accommodation Derwent 3 lodge was beautiful, exceptionally clean and lovely to spend our holiday in
Stayed 4 nights.Caravan was excellent with everything required including central heating and double glazing. The site is very well kept, the location is a short drive to Hexham and Corbridge. Ideal location for walkers. Only one suggestion, a map of the forest walking trails for those who forget to bring their Ordnance Survey maps!! I would recommend this site to those wanting a quiet, peaceful holiday but a short drive to lovely local towns.
AMazing loved every minute
We did not need to use their Launderette or their own restaurant but its good to know they were onsite in case we needed to. The kids play area is very nice and being able to walk up through the woods and fields was a bonus.
If you're looking for a quiet relaxing holiday this is the perfect place with friendly staff and great views this is the perfect place can't wait to go back again
Beautiful area, very warm people and good facillities.
Lovely place to stay. Clean and tidy. Close drive to local town. Lovely walks nearby. All our family enjoyed it.
A lovely, clean site filled with friendly caravan owners and staff. Healey 3 caravan was perfect. Little ones loved the park and football area. Nice, quiet location.

Go Ape Northumberland - about 10 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
