Excellent place to stay, in lovely surroundings, what's not to like about the National Forest and very quiet.

I cannot fault the cleanliness of the cabin, we would definitely stay there again.

everything you needed was provided. Only small thing , I missed the turning ( gate ) to Colliery lodges as road works at beginning of site and gate was open therefore drove all the way down Colliery Road , other sites have signage opposite as well at the entrance and on main roads so maybe this is something to think about for the future. Friendly owners but also respected our privacy so that was just right for us

The lodge was very modern, all the beds was made up and was very comfortable, in the kitchen there was everything that you need it for that weekend away dishwasher washing machine microwave slow cooker. Value for money I think it's well worth it we was actually in three bedrooms and two bathrooms and there's only two of us plenty of room to move about

Wonderful lodge, we were very impressed indeed! Loved the hot tub and the lodge itself was so spacious, even with 3 lively kids!
So much to do close by with children and we loved coming back to such a quiet intimate site. We would definitely return here

Fantastic place, was clean and tidy. lovely staff helped within minuites of reporting a problem and had it fixed straight away. The place was lovely and warm in the middle of Janurary and the hot tub was ready to go before we arrived. got a great price and actually cheaper than a hotel but with all the space and comfort.

These beautiful lodges are excellent value for money and we've already booked to go back. The owners are very friendly people and go the extra mile to make your stay very enjoyable. Pete borrowed me some tackle to do a bit of fishing, he also provided me with the bait and helped me with lots of advice on how to catch the fish. You can kick back and relax, do nothing and enjoy the peaceful surroundings or its a great base to explore whats on offer in the local area either has a couple or has a family. We have stayed in lots of lodges but colliery lane takes some beating, we cant wait until our next visit.
Spotless lodge, well equipped, very spacious, wifi would of been nice just to find places to visit. Hot tub was great and play equipment for the kids, loads of footballs, goal posts, climbing frames ,trampoline and basketball hoop
Came to Colliery Lane Lodges to celebrate my 21st birthday with my close friends. We had a great weekend relaxing in the beautiful cabin and in the hot tub. Would definitely love to return again.
I booked a surprise holiday for my husband's 60th birthday. Initially I didn't realise that Swadlincote was South Derbyshire so was a little concerned where we could walk each day - we book walking holidays every year as we both love walking. I cannot fault the accommodation it was very clean and tidy upon our arrival; nice and warm (it was quite chilly when we arrived so the heating had been put on low so there was a nice warmth throughout the cabin); a chilled bottle of wine had been left for us in the wine chiller and complimentary tea, coffee and milk. The cabins were very private and so quiet, what a lovey area to come for a holiday. The kitchen was lovely but the reason why I have scored the accommodation a 9 and not a 10 is because I found that there were not enough oven dishes i.e. there were two very large oblong oven dishes and one small one, an incredibly large frying pan and one very small one, there were only 2 of us staying in the cabin and I still had to go out and buy another oven dish so that I had enough to cook with. Another thing I'd like to mention is there were no instructions on how to use the microwave, all I could do was press the start button as I didn't know how to use the different power levels, there were also no instructions for the dishwasher (it took us a couple of days or so before we knew exactly how to use it). I think it would be a good idea to place the instructions for all appliances in the folder that was left by the mantelpiece. I didn't know how to use the washing machine and couldn't find the instructions so I rang the phone number provided and they happily came to see me. Whilst he was there he located the instructions for the washing machine on top of the cupboard. I wouldn't hesitate staying at these cabins again, they are beautiful and I could easily live in one of them as they are very spacious and have everything you need i.e. two showers, one bath and two toilets. I would highly recommend these cabins to anyone thinking of a holiday in Derbyshire.
Great base for exploring from. Lovely quiet location with play area and fishing. Hot tub a bonus!
We love coming here it's so quiet and friendly. we've already booked for next year
The lodge was lovely, all you needed for a relaxing few days. The hot tub was excellent, my grown up children went fishing every day and even myself caught a big fish at the first go. We had a great time and will visit again.
Had a lovely break with family - visiting friends and family
