Very quite and great surroundings. The lodge is beautiful basic but had everything we needed. The staff was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The nearest shop is a BP garage (spar) about 3-4 miles away. If you want a nice relaxing quite break then this is for you.

Beautiful lodge, spotlessly clean with extras such as bed linen, toilet rolls and cleaning products provided. There was a barbeque, too although it was too windy so we didn't use it. The views of the fields in front of the lodge were gorgeous and the river bank is only a 5 minute walk away. A peaceful retreat that's only a few miles away from the centre of York. Ideal!

the cabin was nice and clean , there was a funny smell in the bathroom like drains, but we just kept the door closed and it didnt spoil our break.

Our first little holiday with Roshi (the dog) was everything we wanted it to be and more! The staff and other holiday goers were so welcoming and more than happy to help with anything you may need. The lodge itself was lovely and spacious. There are plenty of fields surrounding which make perfect walking routes. There is no wifi in the lodges but this is what we wanted - a bit of peace and quiet in the countyside! We will definitely be revisiting once we are able to drive as Home Farm is quite a way from the town of Selby so it is difficult if you do not have transport to get to the shops etc. but the staff went above and beyond and actually went to the shop for us to get the bits we needed! Would definitely recommend Home Farm to anyone looking for the perfect peaceful getaway.

We stayed in Ash Lodge and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The lodge was very clean and comfortable and the staff that we met were lovely. We had a beautiful view across the fields to the river and we enjoyed seeing the cattle coming and going. Only 6 miles from York and even closer to the Designer Centre it was a perfect place to stay.
Adrian
Very clean log cabins and very private and is very east to get into York and surrounding areas .

Wonderful, peaceful setting. Only downside was the graveyard of old caravans as you drove to the lodge. Not visible from the property. Dog loved to lie on balcony in the sun.

This was our third stay at home farm and you couldn't ask for more friendly people. Lodges are spotless clean with comfy beds and beautiful peaceful surroundings. Unfortunately when we booked we had our 2 dogs booked in with us and unfortunately one of them fell asleep after 17 happy years :-( but home farm was her last holiday and she loved it there! We have many happy memories to treasure. The owner of the farm even offered us a refund for our little dog who we lost, which I thought was a lovely gesture and not many places would do that ( obviously I declined) my dog was still with me in my heart, but all the same I can't thank the people of this site enough for making our stay most enjoyable. Lovely lodges, lovely staff and lovely surroundings. We will be back for sure. Sue & gary Leeds.

Lovely location and convenient for visiting York as there is a direct bus that stops at the gate and takes about 15 minutes. The lodge we stayed in was beautiful and spotless with everything we needed and we received a warm welcome upon arrival. Couldn't ask for more and we would happily stay here again should we back in the area.

Fun Days Out near Home Farm

A day trip to Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens is the perfect way to relax with several gardens to explore in the grounds of a historic farmhouse. The gardens were established 30 years ago and each has something different to offer. Expect to find dramatic displays of foliage and flowers as well as beautifully landscaped areas. Families will enjoy the woodland which leads to a wildlife pond and a beautiful wildflower meadow. The site runs morning courses in gardening throughout the summer which are priced at just 12 and include coffee. There is also a nursery onsite where plants can be purchased. Entry to the gardens cost just 4 for adults and 50p for children.
Jorvik Viking Centre - about 5 Miles
Jorvik Viking Centre is a fun and educational attraction offering visitors the chance to learn all about the Viking-Age city of Jorvik. Thanks to the Archaeologists from York Archaeological Trust the amazing houses, workshops and backyards of the Viking-Age city of Jorvik are on display and give a clear insight to the way of life all those years ago.  The site aims to offer an interactive experience with the state of the art time capsule and the blacksmith's furnace being the top attractions.
Jorvik DIG - about 5 Miles
Dig is a unique and somewhat educational attraction in York offering children the opportunity to enjoy excavation, discovery, and digging. Within the site is a discovery centre, several pits filled with Roman and Medieval ruins and a science lab where children can take part in exciting experiments. Staff are on hand at all times to help the children and to ensure they get the most from the experience. The attraction can get busy during school holidays and pre booking is recommended.
York Maze - about 5 Miles
If you are enjoying a lodge holiday in Yorkshire then a visit to York Maze is a must! This summertime attraction is now one of the most popular in the region offering fun for the whole family. The maze has been improved this year and is now bigger and better than ever before. Carved from an amazing 1.5 million growing maize plants it is thought to be the largest maze in the world! As well as the maze itself the site boasts an adventure playground, 9 hole crazy golf courses and an animal petting area where children can meet the cute and friendly animals that eat the maize and watch pig racing! Tractor and trailer rides around the maize are also available and are recommended for those with young children.
