This rural retreat is a fisherman's delight, set on the banks of a coarse fishing lake in 15 acres of landscaped heaven! It's a beautiful setting and York with its many attractions, pubs and restaurants is easily accessible by car.
As well as fishing for all ages and abilities, there's lots to do in the Vale of York. Just a few miles away, Allerthorpe Park Watersports offers sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and canoeing - or you could swing from the high wires 40 feet up at Go Ape in Thornton le Dale.
If you're looking for a luxurious lodge with an outdoor hot tub, try Paradise Wood View VIP. It sleeps six people and is tastefully furnished with a verandah and garden furniture. Or if there's a party of you, Kingfisher House sleeps up to ten and has a balcony overlooking the lake plus its own cinema and games room; it's perfect for a big family celebration or special event!
York has much to offer visitors, from the Minster and the racecourse to the dungeons, but a little further afield, you can go rock climbing and bowling at Xscape in Castleford or head to Scunthorpe for some retail therapy.

Great holiday to relax but remember your fishing equipment. You always have the hot tub in Woodview Lodges.
Easy toget to Park and Ride forYork. Good road access to other desired places.
Excellent. Will be back next year.
Definitely would go again
We will definitely return. Everything was very good, relaxing, quiet and we really didn't want to come back home. We did have, however, a problem with one of our dogs. She is very old and couldn't get up and down the stairs to the lodge and we thought some sort of ramp would have been easier (not all dogs are used to stairs). I would have been nice also to be have been able to let our dogs of their leads occasionally on site so they could chase their toys (which they are used to). However, both animals were relaxed and happy in the lodge which was good.
See above. Would visit again should the need arise as close to family
Clean comfortable lodge with all the amenities you need.
We were looking for a relaxed location with quality accommodation and fishing. We found all three at this site
Fantastic holiday ! The Park view lodge we stayed in was great , very clean and tidy when we arrived. Hot tub , walk in wardrobes , what else could you want !. By far the best lodge we have ever stayed in . We received a warm welcome by the lovely staff who work there and the bottle of wine as we arrived is always a nice touch . Great location too . Only a twenty minute drive to York which is a beautiful city and about fifteen minutes from York maze which is a great day out for the whole family . We will definitely be returning !!
We will always holiday here
A very nice peacefull place to stay
Excellent surroundings and good quality cabins.
Not suitable for groups intending on partying.
little way out in the sticks but so relaxing.
New eco pods look nice and cozy.
Beautiful site lodges nicely spaced so private , just a small point, would have preferred lattice screening instead of solid fencing around the hot tub so we could see the lake and surroundings.
Lovely warm welcome lodge very clean and comfortable very relaxing break
Had a lovely holiday hear, perfect for us. Staff were lovely and so was the site
Lovely location, a short drive to York Maze. Only a couple of local shops to source supplies and this worked out expensive, so go prepared. Pods were as expected small, but had everything needed. No WiFi, or phone service. You are provided with a password for WiFi but we couldn't get any service.
Terrific relaxing week. So quiet and tranquil. Close enough to York and other shopping outlets. Fishing great.
Excellent 2nd stay this year. Inside of lodge immaculate, although outside area does need cleaning. Staff very helpful and friendly. Fishing brilliant. Well kept lake.
Loved it. First holiday in 2 years, it was the best choice we could've made booking here.
If you are enjoying a lodge holiday in Yorkshire then a visit to York Maze is a must! This summertime attraction is now one of the most popular in the region offering fun for the whole family. The maze has been improved this year and is now bigger and better than ever before. Carved from an amazing 1.5 million growing maize plants it is thought to be the largest maze in the world! As well as the maze itself the site boasts an adventure playground, 9 hole crazy golf courses and an animal petting area where children can meet the cute and friendly animals that eat the maize and watch pig racing! Tractor and trailer rides around the maize are also available and are recommended for those with young children.
Madhyamaka Meditation Centre a unique and very special centre in the Yorkshire moors offering amazing meditation experiences for experts and novices. The beautiful setting really ads to the experience and the gorgeous grounds are abundant with wildlife including Squirrels, Deer and Birds including Red Kites. The centre is now offering a special weekend retreat for families which includes family friendly guided meditations as well as fun activities such as face painting, games and a barbeque.
Jorvik Viking Centre is a fun and educational attraction offering visitors the chance to learn all about the Viking-Age city of Jorvik. Thanks to the Archaeologists from York Archaeological Trust the amazing houses, workshops and backyards of the Viking-Age city of Jorvik are on display and give a clear insight to the way of life all those years ago. The site aims to offer an interactive experience with the state of the art time capsule and the blacksmith's furnace being the top attractions.
Dig is a unique and somewhat educational attraction in York offering children the opportunity to enjoy excavation, discovery, and digging. Within the site is a discovery centre, several pits filled with Roman and Medieval ruins and a science lab where children can take part in exciting experiments. Staff are on hand at all times to help the children and to ensure they get the most from the experience. The attraction can get busy during school holidays and pre booking is recommended.
