This rural retreat is a fisherman's delight, set on the banks of a coarse fishing lake in 15 acres of landscaped heaven! It's a beautiful setting and York with its many attractions, pubs and restaurants is easily accessible by car.

As well as fishing for all ages and abilities, there's lots to do in the Vale of York. Just a few miles away, Allerthorpe Park Watersports offers sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and canoeing - or you could swing from the high wires 40 feet up at Go Ape in Thornton le Dale.

If you're looking for a luxurious lodge with an outdoor hot tub, try Paradise Wood View VIP. It sleeps six people and is tastefully furnished with a verandah and garden furniture. Or if there's a party of you, Kingfisher House sleeps up to ten and has a balcony overlooking the lake plus its own cinema and games room; it's perfect for a big family celebration or special event!

York has much to offer visitors, from the Minster and the racecourse to the dungeons, but a little further afield, you can go rock climbing and bowling at Xscape in Castleford or head to Scunthorpe for some retail therapy.

Our Top Tip
"Knaresborough is a very pretty little market town with a fantastic castle and Ye Oldest Chymist Shoppe in England!"

These lodges are fab! We stayed in the paradise lodge for 6 people and it was great plenty of room for us all + hot tub!
There isnt overly plenty to do but we were happy to stay in and play games but there are small villages near by! Plenty of utensils for cooking just make sure to take towels, soaps, cooking oils tea etc + everything else you would need for a self catering holiday! We bagged a bargain booked on Black Friday weekend!
Overall would reccomend this place!!

We went end of February and it snowed bad and it made our say even better the view from our cabin was so beautiful and picturesque the 2 dogs loved it my parrot loved the view from the french doors we loved feeding the ducks on the lake right outside our cabin . We had a great weeks break the staff were really nice. I would definitely go back there and highly recommend it anyone.

Apart from the weather stay terrific!Would mention that approach road needs to have some contingency plans for clearing access in times of heavy snow which we experienced whilst there!

Booked this as a last minute get away for me and my little boy he's 4 , we had a fantastic time and we'll be going back again this year, it's not far from York and hull was a steady 45 mins drive away were we went to the deep . You do need transport to get around though as its pretty isolated. But overall it was excellent, we stayed in a pod .
Sarah
Lovely location, close to the City. Beautiful accommodation, perfect for a romantic or peaceful getaway. Needs a bit of work for the woodland walk.
Stephen
We booked a lodge for a long relaxing weekend and that’s exactly what we got. The lodge was well appointed, with everything that you could need (except towels). The park was very quiet and although it is quite remote there is only a short drive to the nearest town/village. The weather wasn’t too bad, considering we were there early March, the lodge had a proper central heating system, so we were nice and snug despite the cold temperatures outdoors. Will definitely be going again!!!!
Leanne
Really lovely time here very compact but with everything u need
