This rural retreat is a fisherman's delight, set on the banks of a coarse fishing lake in 15 acres of landscaped heaven! It's a beautiful setting and York with its many attractions, pubs and restaurants is easily accessible by car.

As well as fishing for all ages and abilities, there's lots to do in the Vale of York. Just a few miles away, Allerthorpe Park Watersports offers sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and canoeing - or you could swing from the high wires 40 feet up at Go Ape in Thornton le Dale.

If you're looking for a luxurious lodge with an outdoor hot tub, try Paradise Wood View VIP. It sleeps six people and is tastefully furnished with a verandah and garden furniture. Or if there's a party of you, Kingfisher House sleeps up to ten and has a balcony overlooking the lake plus its own cinema and games room; it's perfect for a big family celebration or special event!

York has much to offer visitors, from the Minster and the racecourse to the dungeons, but a little further afield, you can go rock climbing and bowling at Xscape in Castleford or head to Scunthorpe for some retail therapy.

The pod was obviously small however lots of 21St century amenities so that you can still cook a meal or cosy up on the sofa after a long day exploring.

The only reason we didn't give a 10 for cleanliness was because we found a pair of dirty pink socks in the double bedside cabinet and and a pair of childrens jeans in the small bedroom, so it didn't seem that they had been checked properly.

Otherwise very clean. (I mislaid a bracelet so was rummaging around trying to find it).

The only criticism I have is that there was nowhere to put our clothes
We enjoyed a fabulous short break here with friends between Christmas & new year. We all stayed in Kingfisher house, 4 adults & 3 children. Everything was perfect, a large property in lovely surroundings & the boys absolutely loved the games/cinema room! We’ve already booked again for next year!
Loved the lodge and park it was a very peaceful, beautiful location and only 10 minutes to York designer outlet.
Fab holiday
Great time, beautiful place, owners friendly and kept the place clean, tranquil and lots of local knowledge.
We have been going with you for quite a few years now the lodges are beautiful and clean well kept site all round always recomend you xxx
We absolutely loved this place we went as a big group and there was plenty of space
It was a great holiday and great place. But lady in the reception was not very helpful to us to be honest.
Absolutely lovely setting. Very peaceful. Went in November very quiet
excellent holiday beautiful surroundings
This is the second time we have visited this park. The house is the ideal location and accommodation for a large group. It is well equipped and roomy. The owners were very welcoming on arrival and gave us all the information we needed. The house was immaculate with plenty of parking. The only downside was that we had to leave but we all felt relaxed and our batteries recharged. The location is perfect for access to the coast, York and North Yorkshire moors.
