"We had such a fantastic stay at the Rydal retreat. The lodge itself was absolutely beautiful and immaculate and the views are incredible! The hot tub after a day of walking up mountains was a massive treat. I cannot fault our stay. We had a lovely welcome package on arrival too. This was our first time at the Lake District and at Avon Wood and we loved it so much we have actually booked to stay here again in April. Albeit there isnt much around unless you drive about 10 minutes, thats just what we wanted. So much peace and quiet. Also, at the very bottom of the park you can access the lake from a little slipway its so sweet. Definitely take your kayaks with you. The hosts were wonderful. Highly Recommend Avon Wood. "Absolutely beautiful lodge in an even more beautiful setting. Facilities were fantastic and not needing for anything. The welcome pint of milk was most appreciated for that first cuppa after a long drive. Christine was really helpful with all the pre-visit checks so we knew exactly what to take and what to leave behind. The spa was a first but lovely to slip in to at the end of a long day's walk.If there was any kind of downside it would be that you definitely need your car to get anywhere as there are no footpaths running past the site. We did manage a short walk around site but it was very short. Would go again and would recommend ????"

"This was a very relaxing holiday in a very luxurious lodge . It was equipped exceptionally well with everything you would need . The hot tub was lovely and the treats in the fridge a lovely touch . We have no negative things to say as it was a fantastic holiday and even the weather played ball ."

"The only thing that I would recommend is to have some mattress toppers available. The bed is quite firm (which is understandable).The location of the site is perfect for getting around the lakes.The welcome pack of prosecco and chocolates is a beautiful touch."
