Lochgoilhead Lodges are set in the midst of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and attached to the impressive Drimsynie House Hotel with its stunning nine hole golf course. This is a really beautiful setting, backed by mountains and overlooking Loch Goil. The hotel has two superb restaurants and bars that stage family entertainment in the evenings.

Lochgoilhead is the perfect base for exploring the stunning scenery of the Western Highlands. Back at Lochgoilhead Lodges, there is ice skating, bowls and snooker, badminton, table tennis and even indoor bowling! The Jacuzzi, steam room, large indoor pool and gym are perfect for unwinding – and there is golf, free fishing in Loch Goil and plenty of activities for the children.

We thoroughly recommend the Eagle Premier VIP Lodge which is newly refurbished for 2012. It is a spacious A-frame contemporary lodge that sleeps up to six people and has a private outdoor hot tub on the verandah. The Osprey Premier VIP Lodge also has its own  private hot tub and there is a shop and a launderette close by.

Visitors to Argyllshire can explore Scottish history at the turreted Inverary Castle or enjoy a trip to Oban, a picturesque harbour town with its very own chocolate factory! Oban is also the gateway to the Isles – Islay and Jura are famous for their distinctive malt whiskies. A visit to Ardkinglas Woodland Garden at Cairndow or Benmore Botanic Gardens in Argyll would be the perfect way to spend a relaxing day.

Our Top Tip
"For a memorable and delicious meal try the Loch Fyne Oyster Bay in Cairndow - less than 7 miles from the lodges.  The food is traditional and hearty and the views are outstanding."

As I was making Christmas dinner while I was there, I had taken all my pots, pans and utensils, but I didnt need to bother. The caravan was more equipped than what I had taken.

I would say we all had an amazingly relaxing time with fun and lots of laughter. All done with the most spectacular backdrop and we hope Argyll Holidays will have us back to do it all again in Albatross 4. The only negative I can think of was that the sofas are not very comfortable...invest in some decent lounge furniture and it would have been perfect!

The lodge was beautiful, but the windows looked like they hadnt been cleaned in a long time.
The beds were really comfy and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax.

A shame to not have an option for two double beds, or at least be able got push both single beds together when there are two couples staying

Showers were amazing! Powerful and hot!

Enjoyed our break, far away from house whilst not being too far. Allows peple to come visit us.

There was six adults and one child in the accommodation and I would say that there was enough room for us all. The accommodation was good but could do with being painted. There was a wall in the kitchen where the outside roof seemed to be leaking and was coming in the wall. Overall we liked the accommodation.

What a fantastic stay. The staff in all areas are so helpful and caring. I’d read reviews about the roads leading in being narrow and windy, but didn’t experience any problems. It snowed while we were there, and the Highways were so on top of gritting the roads, they were absolutely fine. The area is stunningly beautiful. We took some amazing pictures of the tranquil lake and gorgeous scenery. Our mobiles had no signal while we were there (I was told Tesco and o2 don’t get reception) but for us, that was the beauty of it. We will be returning.
Lisa
What and amazing place! Lodge was stunning and hottub made it even better 😬 xx
MICHELLE
Lovely location and fantastic accommodation will definitely be back.

Paid £15 for WiFi that worked intermittently. Could do with somewhere to hang up your wet coats. Got takeaway from the coffee shop. Burger arrived without the top part of the bun, and one meal missing. Had to go back to get it replaced and food then cold by the time we got it back to the lodge.
Kirsty
Loved our girls Xmas holiday weekend. Didn’t actually leave the lodge as there was no need. We would love to book it again for winter 2018.
Claire
Fabulous 4 days days great place and location, the only thing i can complain about is we were woken up every morning early by the work men setting off to work who were staying in the caravan beside us not what you want when your on your holiday, other then that we would highly recommend this place.
Michelle
We had a lovely holiday here. Beautiful scenery & peaceful setting. Lodge was clean, roomy & modern spec. Hot tub fantastic. Swimming pool was great for the whole family. Had a few nice meals in the Rob Roy bar, but prefared the short walk to the local pub ‘The Goil Inn’. Which was also part of Argyle holidays group.
Elizabeth
It was a first for three couples to have a holiday together. The accommodation - the Albatross 3 was perfect - spacious and with three onsuite bedrooms the facilities were excellent for us all. The large fridge, dishwasher and washing machine was a welcomed addition.
Melissa
We had a great holiday and hoping to return in May, staff were great

Inveraray Jail - about 7 Miles

This living museum portrays the harsh life inside of a 19th century prison. Travel back in history on a darkly fascinating journey into life in a Victorian prison. In a time when petty theft could have you branded with a hot iron! Watch courtroom trials, talk to the prisoners and see what it was like being locked up in jail. You can also take the ghost tour. Live actors bring the setting to life.
