Just two miles from the pretty, bustling seaside town of Tenby and on the edge of a gorgeous lake, these luxurious lodges boast contemporary design, wonderful views and sunken outdoor hot tubs. Florence Springs is a gorgeous peaceful retreat within easy reach of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and many pretty Welsh villages.

There's an 18 hole golf course and coarse and trout fishing in the lake on the park and guests are given a discounted pass to nearby Heatherton Leisure Park. A short distance away, you'll find the cobbled streets of Tenby - you could potter around the pretty harbour, browse the little gift shops, enjoy the many pubs and restaurants, or while away the time on the beach.

Hazel Lodge is stunningly designed with every comfort in mind. It sleeps up to six people - there's a king size double room with dressing room and ensuite shower, a further double bedroom, a twin and a bathroom with bathtub and shower. Bi-fold French doors lead out onto the decking where you can enjoy lakeside views from your own bubbling hot tub.

There's so much to explore in South Wales - go horse riding through the countryside at Narberth or head for the huge indoor water park at the Blue Lagoon in Canaston Wood to have fun on the slides.

Our Top Tip
"Llansteffan with its delightful beach and castle is less than 20 miles away and the Happy Valley Walking Trail at Tywyn has amazing coastal and mountain views."

The lodge was clean and well presented and generally well equipped. However it could do with a couple more saucepans and cooking dishes.

The facilities were fantastic. The lodge included a washing machine and dishwasher which were very useful. Lovely yo receive a free bottle of wine as well. My only criticism was that I wish there were hairdryers in the lodge. It was the only thing really that was missing.

We all had a fantastic time at Florence Springs, the lodge was absolutely beautiful and so was the surroundings. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and Welsh cakes, lovely touch! The free game of golf was great fun and the rest of the activities in the neighbouring centre looked fab. You could easily stay in the lodge and chill it's that lovely, although the only down side to our stay was the building work going on which wasn't so relaxing, especially as my partner is a builder and was looking forward to escape from work. Also the hot tub wasn't inspected or topped up with chlorine during our time here so by the third night the water had gone slightly green and wasn't the freshest smelling. Apart from those things it was amazing and we would of rated 10 out of 10! We will recommend to friends and family and also the best restaurant we visited The Salt Cellar in Tenby, beautiful food

Lodge had the wow factor when we arrived. Everything provided. The hot tub was an extra bonus and used every day. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Wish we were still there!

The hot tub, whilst not the largest I've used, was nice, with decent controls to get it exactly as you liked. The only issue with that was the little black beetles which seemed to want to get in as well. There's not really much that us or the site owners can do to stop nature doing what it will. However, I did mention it to one of the site managers the next day, and they supplied us with a net, so although we couldn't prevent the issue, we could get them out again afterwards.

Our son is four - and there were a couple of brilliant aspects to our lodge. The first was that the key to the lodge gate was available. So we could actually lock the gate and ensure he could not go a wandering. Secondly, the hot tub cover had all locks attached and operational - so we could fix it at all four points, and feel totally confident that he'd not be able to get into any bother with the tub. That meant a huge deal to us - so thank you Florence Springs.

We really liked that the lodge entrance went directly into the utility room - with a shoe rack. It encourages and reassures that the carpets and floors inside are clean.

There was one downside to the lodge. We were pretty sure that when we booked, it was stated as having a washer/dryer - but it just had a washer actually. Online now, that is what it states - but as the washer/dryer is important to us, we imagine that it was corrected at some time between us booking and staying. Anyway - that would not have been so bad if it were not for the notices saying "do not dry any washing in the lodge". So without a dryer, what should people do? We mentioned it at reception, and they agreed there was a discrepancy somewhere, and supplied us with a clothes horse to get our washing dried.

Got to say from the staff to the accommodation there is nothing we can fault ,It was the most relaxing and peaceful place we have been in 40 years of renting property .The view from the lodge was fantastic looking over the lake to the golf course . The property inside was amazing everything you would need for couples or families plenty space also well thought out arrangement of design plus underfloor heating . My husband commented it was the best sleep he has had in about 10 years beds soooo comfy and last but not least was the lovely hot tub .

The lodge was almost brand new and had all the facilities we needed. Upon arrival I requested a travel cot as they advertised that we could rent one. They only had one on site, which was in use, but they went out and bought a new one for us.

Loved loved loved our recent stay. The lodge was perfect! Really clean, spacious and everything we needed and more available for our weeks stay. The kids loved having a tv in their room and the view from the hot tub was the best on the park. We got a 20% off at heatherton leisure park which we all enjoyed. We had a free golf lesson too, but didn't get round to doing that. Would definitely come back again with Tenby only 10 minutes away. Only thing missing was places to eat or a pub in walking distance. But this wouldn't stop me from coming back.
Julie
Lodge set in tranquil surroundings close to Tenby.

I stated that I wouldn't stay again - but that is not a reflection of Florence Springs - just that we tend to stay in different places, and rarely ever return to the same exact location. So whilst we might return to SW Wales, we'd most likely select a different base. We really enjoyed Florence Springs. We were a little surprised that when we arrived there were only four lodges including ours. But the reception was very welcoming, and we were escorted from Heatherton up to our lodge. We'd been left with tea/coffee, plus a fresh pint of milk and some Welshcakes - very nice after a 5-6 hour journey. On the first full day, a new lodge arrived. It did not cause us much disturbance, as there was no real noise or commotion until after 9am. However, the only slightly offputting part of the entire stay was when we were ready to leave our lodge for the day. The huge lorry which brought the half of the lodge in, had two guys in it. I'd already seen the passenger squeezing a spot in the mirror of the lorry - which was a bit gross. But more strange was when we were trying to leave, and wanted to pass the lorry. The spot-squeezer was by now outside of the lorry, and standing between us and the lorry - he saw us coming, but just stared at us. The driver's door of the cab was open, but still spot-squeezer just stared. We had to then go onto the grass to get around the open cab door - and upon passing the lorry, I looked into the rear view mirror to just see spot-squeezer smiling dumbly at the rear of our car. I can only assume that he's not really become accustomed to domesticated human society yet. Anyway - apart from that, everything was lovely. We didn't use any of the Heatherton facilities - we just didn't really have time to be honest - but there certainly seemed to be plenty available. If our son had been somewhat older, then we might have had a go on the 18-hole pitch and putt.
