Claywood Retreat Lodges have a beautiful woodland setting, the perfect tranquil retreat from the stresses of daily life.  The open countryside in this area really give these lodges an "away from it all" feel and you'll love the amazing views everywhere you look.

All of the lodges have their own balconies to take in the scenery and provide a stunning view over the golf course.

The lodges themselves are exceptionally stylish in design with a modern, spacious and open plan feel.  The Claywood Two is great for couples, with a master king size bedroom and walk in shower.  The large flat screen TV and modern sofas complete the look and of course the fantastic outdoor hot tub is the icing on the cake.

The Claywood Four is also contemporary and spacious but offers two bedrooms so would be perfect for anyone looking for more space.  The covered verandah is ideally for relaxing on and the outdoor hot tub makes an already chic break even more luxurious.

Facilities on the doorstep include a restaurant and bar, golf and clay pigeon shooting.  Additional charges apply for activities.

This area of Suffolk is home to many attractions such as Pleasurewood Hills theme park, Suffolk Owl Sanctuary and Africa Alive.

Lovely place
Lovely lodge, very clean and good standard of furnishings with plenty of lovely white towels and nice hair and bath products to use. Reception staff greeted us and were really nice when we arrived in driving rain! Nice location and everything was well kept and tidy. Only disappointment was, that I wish we could have stayed longer as stay went so quickly. Hope to return again in the autumn.
The lodge was immaculate, very well furnished and comfortable.
What a wonderful place to stay, Enjoyed every minute

The lodge was excellent. It would have been nice if the bar and restaurant had been open in the evenings as there was no where to walk too and you were quite isolated. Overall though the lodge was well equipped and warm and cosy. It was perfect for a relaxing get away from it all break.
Lovely place to stay visiting family. Only downside that clubhouse isn't open for evening meals, we did know this though when we booked.
Overall a great holiday. Location for where we wanted to go and do was great. Things that you can do on site golf, fishing, archery and clay pidgeon shooting has additional charges attached. The onsite cafe offers food until a certain time. However, I would suggest that you check first that the cook will be there into the late afternoon. Our experience was a let down as the cook left early. The road that passed our lodge was used quite a lot and nearly all vehicles both light and heavy didn't obey the speed restrictions they were going much faster. There appears to be another road being constructed so hopefully this will help. If we go back to this area we would certainly consider coming back here.
lovely peacefull break, Very nice carvery, friendly and helpful staff. lodge excellent and clean. hot tub a bonus.

Fun Days Out near Claywood Retreat Lodges

Africa Alive - about 11 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - about 18 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
