Enjoy the peace and quiet amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in the country - this is picture postcard countryside set deep in the hills of southern Derbyshire. Weston Wood Lodges is also within easy reach of Derby and Nottingham with their shops and nightlife.

All the lodges here have hot tubs for chilled out nights on the deck, and there are a multitude of towns and villages to visit. Chatsworth House and Calke Abbey are close by and Derby is good for pubs and restaurants - try Restaurant Zest, a converted warehouse that has freshly prepared seasonal menus.

Loxley Sherwood is a brand new timber clad holiday home for up to four people. It has a lovely decking area with patio furniture, a barbecue and an outdoor hot tub. For larger families, Loxley Lodge VIP has three bedrooms, one with child size bunk beds.

The open market at Mansfield is 700 years old and really brings the town to life, and you can also enjoy the new shopping centres, retail parks and department stores.

Our Top Tip
"For a gorgeous walk, Swadlincote Woodlands Park is a beautifully maintained 80 acre wood with footpaths, play areas and a climbing rock."

Went with friends for birthday celebrations.
Enjoyed relaxing in beautiful countryside. Lots of fresh air. It didn't matter if it was not good weather as the hot tub was always hot.

Overall it was lovely, although stating it was a lodge it was more of a deluxe caravan that looked like a lodge from the outside it was still brilliant value for money, i would still come again and reccomend this to others!

I had a phone conversation with someone called Susan prior to arriving and her manner was very stand offish. It actually prompted us to try and change accommodation but we weren't able to.
The lodge itself was faultless. We really enjoyed it, and the location was great.
The only issue we had was that we chose this location because we had access to the onsite gym. However to use the gym it would have cost us £15 each which was extortionate for just one session!

Lovely quiet break just what we wanted we loved being surrounded by the fields and the hot tub was lovely great for a short break
Faye
Lovely cottages very quiet surroundings , loved that the hot tubs are on the back of the property and very private 10* for that , the cottage itself has got everything you could ask for x the only real problem we had was the smell outside obviously thereā€™s septic tanks around but would recommend taking some air freshener next time but apart from that we would definitely come back . Luxurious towels and bedding a pleasure and a friendly little squirrel on the decking , lovely place .

Conkers - about 8 Miles
Conkers is an award winning attraction located in the midst of the National Forest.  Combining both indoor and outdoor activities this is an all weather attraction in the Peak District.  It's really easy to get to as well, just 5 miles from Junction 11 off the M42.  Designed for all ages some of the highlights include the Enchanted Forest Adventure play area and a simulated Tree Top walk.  Look out for special seasonal events such as October half term and the Annual Halloween Party.  At the moment you can receive a fantastic discount if you book your tickets online.
Highfields Happy Hens - about 8 Miles
This unique farm makes a great day out for families with young children and also couples who enjoy getting out and exploring.  With an array of farm animals including goats, pigs and sheep this farm is a popular attraction in the Etwall area of Derbyshire.  Apart from the animals there are fun activities to take part in such as collecting and grading your own eggs and a hay play area for the little ones. The farm tea room serves drinks, cakes and light bites, the place to go when you are in need of a rest and a hot drink.
This is an all weather attraction located in Ilkeston Derbyshire.  With a large play frame as well as bikes and ride on toys this is a fun place for young children.  The toddler time sessions take place during term times on week days from 9.30am until 2.30pm and are very popular. The admission fee is excellent value for money and parents can sit down and enjoy a drink while the children play. A new baby changing facility has now been installed together with some new chairs making this a clean and welcoming attraction for families.  Look out for offers on their website such as a free hot drink on select days.
