As well as fishing and a multitude of wildlife to watch, Wigmore Lakes Lodges is a good base from which to explore Shropshire. There's an incredible 32 castles in the county and nearby Ironbridge has ten museums, including the Blists Hill Open Air Museum where the staff wear Victorian dress. All the lodges have patio doors that lead to a decking area with a private outdoor hot tub. Oxmoor Lodge is a stylish and luxurious lodge for six people; it has a master double bedroom with ensuite shower and one twin room. There's also a flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player.

The golf course at Welshpool caters for all levels and abilities and has some breathtaking views; the beautiful peak of Snowdonia towers over it. You could go riding at Springhill Farm in Oswestry.

A lovely lodge and in surroundings. There is nothing actually on site so scored a five because of that. However very well placed for a trip into shrewsbury. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn't working on the first night as we were only staying 2 nights instead of three was disappointing ( although thanks to Bob the prosecco helped!). We had a lovely break with friends and will be back. Only gripe was the size of the mugs (thimbles!) please get decent size mugs!

Great few days, location of lodge at present overlooking fishing lake good, but could be spoilt if other lodges are erected in front. Hot Tub great even though we must have had a heatwave at the time and needed to turn the temperature down! Our dog. thoroughly enjoyed her holiday. Countryside lovely. A very peaceful and lovely time had by all. Lodge clean and comfortable and met all our needs.

Clean and tidy - lovely little lodge.
Only down side was fishing right next to the lodges hot tub - maybe fishers should go other side of the lake.
Really enjoyed our stay - nice walks and good pub near by.
Hot tub very clean and lodge fitted out nicely.

Lodge clean and decorated to high standard. Very warm with towels and hot tub towels provided. Also a BBQ. Great hot tub. I would have liked some egg cups but it's a minor point.

The mugs provided were rather small. Two sizes of mugs being available would have been nice. Other than that, it was absolutely lovely.

Beds and pillows a bit lumpy but overall a great lodge.
Have stayed here before, lovely setting and beautiful place, although inside very clean did note outside not as clean as 1st visit, tables and chairs very dirty and cobwebs. Windows needed clean. Would stay again, very rekaxing
This was absolutely perfect for us. We needed a base in the area for various reasons and the option of doing some fishing while we were there was too good to turn down. Very helpful and pleasant staff, very clean and well-equipped accommodation right by one of the fishing lakes, very quiet, plus the fishing was superb We would definitely stay there again
Great location, clean and tidy cabin pretty much halfway between Shrewsbury & Welshpool
This was a lovely holiday lodge, great location which is peaceful and tranquil, staff very helpful and friendly and would not hesitate to book again.
Relaxing a swimming pool would have been nice
Loved it, want to go back! The views were lovely, even from inside the lodge! it was a peaceful holiday. The fact dogs can go is a bonus. The lodge is lovely, well kept hot tub.
