"Lovely break away. Stayed in a Sage 3 Caravan which was lovely and clean with everything you needed. Site itself was clean, tarmac area to park your car which was helpful. Within walking distance to on site pub/swimming pool and also to local shops/pubs/restaurants. Lovely staff on reception, easy check in. Only thing was the communication regarding check in time but we just went for a walk until the caravan was ready. Will definitely be back"

"We had a lovely weekend in Wooler in the caravan. Good welcome pack with everything we needed for the kitchen. The one problem we had was the shower temperature was very temperamental which kept going hot and cold. There had been a pipe repair prior to our arrival so not sure if that was why. Other than the shower the caravan was comfortable. Heating was easy to use and had 2 toilets. Short walk to the facilities. Shame doddingtons wasnt open. Pool was small but good decent shallow area for smaller kids and a lovely hot jacuzzi which was great. Showers at the pool were also a bit cooler. Arcades were ok prizes werent the best entertainment was good. Food in the grill was ok. Shop had some good bargains. Parks were great round the site. Quite muddy at this team of year which was to be expected. Would def return."

"This was a beautiful site, the caravan was so clean and little touches of soaps and shower gels and shampoo was really nice. The standard of accommodation was excellent, modern and very comfortable. Customer service was also really good, nothing was a bother and first night we arrived a member of staff came to the caravan to check everything was okay. The bed linen was pristine and excellent quality as were the towels. The pool was great and the gentleman that was running it was really helpful and friendly. The only little suggestion would be a little longer than 45 minutes a day session in the pool, we would have happily paid extra for a pool pass. Other than that the whole holiday was a relaxing in gorgeous surroundings with friendly and professional staff."

Short walk into town CO-OP near by. The pool was a good size but you do have to book your time. My kids enjoyed the game room but beware you can only collect prizes at specific times which was not posted."

Alnwick Castle and Gardens - NE66 1NQ

Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.

Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX

Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.

With easy access from the A1 this lovely farm just north of Berwick makes a fantastic family day out. Follow the farm trail and meet an array of friendly farm animals. Kids will also enjoy the indoor and outdoor play areas, pet barn and tractor circuit. The admission fee is excellent value and you will get a free bag of food for the animals and a bag of fish food for the trouts in the fish pond. When you want a bite to eat, the licensed restaurant is the place to go with quality home cooking and a charming location in some of the converted farm buildings.

Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT

Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples. As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there. Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.

Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK. The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall. Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops. Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines. You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
