Just a few miles from lively bustling Exeter and the unspoilt beauty of Dartmoor, Kingsford Farm Lodges is a true rural retreat. Set in 65 acres of woodland with a private fishing lake, it's a great base from which to explore Devon and its many attractions - fabulous beaches, pretty villages and glorious countryside.

There are numerous nature reserves in South Devon, all with impressive varieties of wildlife - spot the dark-bellied brent geese at Exmouth and the red deer at Chapel Wood. You could visit the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth, head to Canonteign Falls, England's highest waterfall, in Exeter, and enjoy on-site fishing all year round.

Kingsford Lodge is a stylish luxury lodge for four people with one king size double bedroom and one twin room. There's a large walk-in shower and French windows lead to a good sized decking area with garden furniture, an outdoor hot tub and beautiful views across the lake. It is also centrally heated.

The Weary Traveller in Cullompton offers hearty country cooking prepared with fresh local ingredients. They also have a Sunday carvery and often host live music at the weekends as well as holding summer barbecues and music parties. Powderham Castle in Exeter is set in an ancient deer park and it's been home to the Earls of Devon for over 600 years.

"Picturesque Exeter boasts excellent shopping bars restaurants and river cruises."

Kingsford Farm Lodges Reviews

Had a lovely time. The best Lodge and Park ever stayed on. Lodges looked as new and the grounds were kept spotless by Debbie and her team. Great care taken over recycling and both this and normal waste was collected from the bins daily to avoid litter being attacked by birds! Hot tub was amazing. Mentioned a light in the bathroom was not working and they could not have got onto the case any quicker - giving us an update as soon as they saw us (as fitting not available initially and would be a day's delay).

The Farm down a narrow lane but not a problem and we coped with it when the need arose. The road was made up and not earth and stones/gravel. Sometimes, we could go in and out and not see another vehicle. The SAT NAV took us on narrower roads as we travelled around the county!

We had a lovely stay here as always. I was left a bottle of bubbly by the owner for my birthday which was a lovely surprise. The lodge has everything you need, except food. Maybe needs some tongs for cooking but that's the only thing we missed. Lovely clean lodge and the hot tub is amazing. We found a lovely little post office and village shop just at the bottom of the road out in the Pathfinder Village. Small shop but has all the essentials if you have run out of anything and don't fancy driving to Sainsburys. The road down to the lodge is a one track lane so drive carefully but once at the lodge it is so lovely and peaceful its worth the drive! Darts Farm is worth a visit, Budleigh Salterton is lovely and also Dawlish Warren. We will most definitely be back again.

We had an excellent stay at Kingsford Farm Lodges and would highly recommend to others. Ideal for access to Dartmoor and Exeter. The only reason for a score of 9 on location and surroundings was due to the steep access down the single track lanes to the farm, but don't let this put you off as the lodges are lovely and the hot tubs are great. Very peaceful, quiet area.

A lovely part of the country and enjoyed the drive through the Moors. Some amazing scenery.

Fantastic place the wildlife is amazing and Debbie and her family are lovely we will definitely be back

As a family of 3, with a small baby, we stayed in the top lodge, which was the most secluded of the four. The lodge was clean and tidy, everything worked and we loved the peaceful surroundings with the various animals and wildlife. The last 7 minutes of your journey to the lodge will take you on a single lane road, but that added to the 'out-of-the-way' feel and tranquillity we wanted. We would visit again.
Trevor
I cannot fault this place and will definitely go back again.

This place is outstanding. So quiet and peaceful. Everything you need is provided. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely time away to escape the day to day. Definitely would go there again. The only reason I give a 9 instead of a 10 is a long one way track/road to get to it. But please don't let that put you off.
Joanne
What a fantastic beautiful little secluded gem.we had a fantastic holiday and will be booking to go back soon.the owners were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.my husband spent the whole two weeks pulling fish after fish out of the beautiful lake.I sunbathed in my little private garden.the lodge was immaculate, with comfy sofa's and bed.and a large TV bonus!!all in all a fantastic two weeks and worth every penny.we'll definitely be back.
Steven
Great Peaceful location, amazing hot tub!!!! The lane leading to Farm is a bit narrow in places but we are used to that and shouldn't put you off. A Better sign at the front would be good as the Sat nav only takes you so far!!!! Nice size Timber lodges, everything you need although a Gas BBQ would finish it off.....
