With all the delights of Snowdonia National Park right on the doorstep, Pen-y-Garth Lodges offer an idyllic retreat for families, couples and groups of friends looking to enjoy all that the region has to offer. Whether you are seeking a relaxing break surrounded by stunning scenery or are looking to enjoy exciting outdoor pursuits these lodges are just perfect.

This quiet site is popular all year round and has a children's play area and a launderette. There are several villages close by so shops, pubs and cafes are within easy reach. Bala Lake is just a short walk from the park and is a magnet for water sports enthusiasts. Those who prefer to stay on dry land can enjoy walking, cycling, climbing and nature trails. Families may enjoy a nostalgic steam train journey on the famous Ffestiniog Railway or a wander around Caernarfon Castle.

The site offers several types of Lodge accommodation but we recommend the Superior Country Lodge Four VIP and Superior Country Lodge Six VIP as they both have private outdoor hot tubs! All lodges are very well equipped for self catering and have luxurious extras including flat screen TV's, DVD players and dishwashers. Lodges also have furnished outside space where guests can enjoy the gorgeous views. The central heating ensures that they are cosy all year round.

Our Top Tip
"Visit the Italianate village of Portmeirion - world famous as the setting for the cult TV series, The Prisoner."

Not having facilities on-site was good. Rarely use them, and quieter without them.

Best accommodation of its type that I have ever stayed in. Nothing broken, everything worked as it should and very clean, comfortable and spacious. It is privately owned, and clearly the owners used it themselves.

Buttercup 4 was extremely clean and central heated makes it feel like home from home.

Well laid out and great facilities including DVD, cooker and microwave.

Bed was comfortable and ensuite WC/sink as well as family bathroom made getting up in the morning relaxed.

Love the Buttercup 4 and would stay in it again.

Visited for the weekend, the lodge we stayed in was lovely, beautiful and clean, hot tub was amazing, would definitely return, hopefully for longer than a weekend next time, I've been raving about these lodges to everyone since we returned. If I could pick fault with anything it would probably be the fact that an onsite little shop would be beneficial but only a short car journey to the nearest shops anyway. PERFECT!!!!!

Lovely little holiday site. Hot tub was amazing. Couldn't of picked a better week. 10 min walk to the local town and lake.
Sarah
The most peaceful and restful little break we have ever had. Gorgeous surroundings.
Laura
Disappointed that the hot tub was not warm enough on the first night of our three night stay so couldn't be used. Other than that, it was a lovely quiet park in beautiful surroundings, close to a wonderful lake and nice town with good pub grub! Sadly the local take away restaurants weren't all great (Indian - good, Chinese - slow and awful food!)
Jodi
We had a lovely stay at the Pen-y-Garth lodges in the Foxglove 6. The lodge was comfortable and an ideal size for 6 people. The hot tub added an extra bit of luxury to our stay. We would definitely holiday here again.
Andrea
We love Pen y Garth and try to get here at least once a year. It's a very peaceful and beautiful location, yet lots of activities to do nearby. We stayed in a Buttercup 4 this time, it is the smallest lodge we have stayed in at Pen Y Garth. It was a lovely lodge however for our family it was a little small. The hot tub as always was great, always hot very clean and lots of fun. We felt the lodge is probably due a freshen up, little things like handles falling off draws and on toilets etc but on the whole we thought it was a lovely compact lodge. The Wifi isn't consistent and so not worth paying the £10 and the laundry was out of order. However the staff are lovely and very accommodating so any problems they are on hand to help. Would thoroughly recommend Pen Y Garth for a base to explore North Wales it's great.

Lovely little park would benefit from a cafe or club house/bar in my honest opinion. Lodge was clean and tidy Welcome pack would of been nice though. Bigger tv too 👍
Sarah
Beautiful quiet location which is ideal for couples and young families. A car/bike is needed to get into Bala.
Steve
Lovely lodges, amazing hot tubs and beautiful surroundings
Alison
A lovely spacious house for our family holiday. We had a great time in Bala.

Llangollen - about 17 Miles
Llangollen Wharf is one of the major attractions in North Wales and is an excellent place to spend the day as a family. The Wharf is situated in the peaceful market town of Llangollen - now part of a World Heritage Site. Horse Drawn Boat Trips are available along the feeder for the main canal and are a unique way to explore the area. Motorised Aqueduct Cruises are also on offer for those who prefer a slightly faster pace. Both trips allow visitors to take in all the magnificent sites of Llangollen Canal.
Pen-Y-Ffrith Bird Garden - about 19 Miles
Pen-Y-Ffrith Bird Garden is an 18 acre site, filled with glorious woodland, dramatic gardens, streams, ponds and a 3 acre lake. As the seasons change so do the delights of the park. During springtime the bluebell woods are spectacular while in the summer the bog garden is a favourite attraction with some unusual displays of flora and fauna. In the autumn a walk through the ravine with its flowing waterfalls in not to be missed. There are also several yearly events to enjoy including the Bat walk in September.
