Thanet Well Lodge Retreat

"Great, we keep coming back"

"Please find attachedWe stayed in Thanet Well Lodge Retreat over this weekend for a nice weekend get away with friends. The staff were helpful when it came to planning activities/ things to do in the area. However there were a few things which did take us all by surprise whilst we stayed.When we first entered the lodge the heating was set on 12c which for 8pm on a wet rainy night isnt the most welcoming of temperature. We noticed the heating was on timer settings which really didnt help the situation. The lodge took a long time to heat up then as soon as it became almost a pleasant temperature the timer would turn off. The whole of our stay me and my friends slept with another duvet ontop of the bed to help remain warm. Its a good job we had all brought thermals because we didnt take them off the whole time The facilitys in the lodge all worked perfectly the only fault I will mention which became quite annoying throughout the stay was the draw handles/knobs kept coming off the draws. Not to mention the paint work continued to peel off the cupboards which made the place look a bit tacky.The final bother we were dealt with was the fact there was no real house keeping popping in to make the beds or change the towels. Or even top up the toilet paper! We were 5 lady lodgers who shared only 2 rolls of toilet paper, when we asked we were told we have to pay for toilet roll to get topped up. The overall experience was great but our actual stay / accommodation wasnt up to the standards of which I experienced when I stayed with yourselves 2 years ago."

"6 ladies on a walking weekend, clean,. tidy, spacious accommodation may be radiator could.do with dust blown from them in the grid. .kitchen well equipped, clean towels, bedding .Only problem we had it snowed which was gorgeous but with the high winds the top.blew off the hot tub we did report it but it was not fixed so only used the hot tub on the 1st night of a 3 night stay."

"I cannot comment on this property as my booking was cancelled and the lodge changed by Hoseasons. This was done with no communication with myself, the only reason I found this out was because I contacted Thenet well retreat to ask them if they would be able to put some wedding anniversary decorations up prior to our arrival."

"I feel the lodge facilities are average and the kitchen was cheap, the main bedroom window had a gap at the top which the wind whistled all night. The fridge door had dropped and you had to make sure it was closed correctly or it bleeped."

"Lodge was absolutely brilliant, lots of space for a hyper cocker spaniel puppy to run around. Secure decking, hot tub perfectly placed so not in the view of anyone else. Very clean and tidy plenty of towels"

"Settees were ok but again there was 6 people and five seats!!! But generally furniture and fittings were good Beds were comfortable and all the lodge was well presented"

"3 bedrooms. All with comfy beds. Shower was good in the ensuite and a nice bath with over the bath shower in the main bathroom. The walls are standard lodge walls so quite thin so the only issue was the noise of the boiler kicking in in the night but if you're a heavy sleeper you wouldn't notice it. Has freeview tv and some dvds and games which we loved. Kitchen has everything you need and plenty of space. We were a family of 4 and a dog and we found the space great. Hot tub was simply glorious and a real finishing touch, along with the mountain views! Lodge felt nice and private and not overlooked. Would highly recommend this lodge."

"Quiet location. Our lodge was very nice. The rest of the lodges on site looked good. A mini shop is available with just enough essentials. You definitely need a car to get around as you are pretty isolated. There is a pub 4 mile away. Plenty of walks to explore. This break for us was lovely, peaceful with only the sound of the sheep in the distance bleating. The tranquility suited us perfectly. Will definitely go back."

"Ended returning a day early due to the disappointment of the facilities, smell and stains on bedding.Will not use this park again"

"The lodge was so big there was plenty of room a lovely kitchen to cook in and we had an amazing view"

"Our lodge was lovely and clean, the views were beautiful but the onsite staff, particularly the maintenance man was so incredibly rude. He approached us on the first night and was extremely rude and unprofessional. No customer service skills at all. He needs to learn how to approach people and speak to them in an appropriate manor. This is not the only run in we had with him. On a morning when he would come to check the chemical levels in the hot tub he was heard outside swearing and shouting making us feel very intimidated. The hot tubs were very out in the open for people walking by to watch you. We often caught the maintenance man walking by staring at us for no reason. I felt like I had to be locked up in my lodge for the duration of my stay as if I went outside I was being watched. Personally I would not stay here or recommend staying here unless you like rude unreasonable people speaking down to you."

"Great weekend - lovely quiet site for a peaceful break - can get all over the Lake District - lodge comfortable and spacious for the whole family with the bonus of the hot tub and lovely views - staff are helpful and friendly and the mini shop open sometimes is really handySome lodges could do with a little freshen up in parts - but not so it spoils anything - great stay as always"

"This is our favourite lodge at Thanet Well. It is so luscious inside with plenty of room for a family of 4 + a dog. The lodge was clean with extra added little details that make it special. Great facilities if you want to make a meal at home."

"Lodge 15 needs a refresh. As mentioned in my site review, it is dirty and tired at best. Ripped curtains, dirty walls, black mould and mismatched furniture do not make you feel welcome. The broken bath panel was replaced and the hottub cover was repaired quickly. Hopefully they stick to their word and close this caravan until all issues are remedied. Though I doubt it"

"It was lovely peaceful and quiet You do have to drive everywhere as nothing is within walking distance but that wasn’t a problem. The staff we very friendly and kind, they would go the extra mile for there guess I would definitely recommend this site for a peaceful getaway"
