Where is Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa?

Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa is set on the slopes of the Mendip Hills in Cheddar, Somerset. It's a truly beautiful part of the UK which is famous for its Limestone hills which rise to over 1000 feet. Here you'll find caves, including the Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, and Gough's Cave.

Where can you park?

Parking is nice and easy here as you can park right next to your lodge. You can leave your car there for the duration of your stay.

Can I bring my own cot bed?

Yes but mattresses or bedding cannot be provided for cots, and some accommodation types may not have sufficient space to accommodate a cot bed.

Can you get Tesco, Asda and other shopping delivered here?

Yes, you can get shopping delivered here. Just set the delivery slot to after 6pm and give the name of your lodge. This a brilliant idea that I saw someone doing on a lodge break. Why spend hours packing and unpacking your food and supplies when you can get it directly delivered to your door?

Is there a shop at Cheddar Woods Resort?

Yes, there is a small shop where you can buy the essentials you might need for your break.

Can you rent a high chair?

Yes, high chairs area available at Cheddar Woods either at the time of your booking, or when you get there. The fee is £15 for the length of your stay.

Is there an enclosed space for pets?

If you're taking your dog with you to Cheddar Woods Resort, you have a dedicated enclosed decking area and the lodges have gates that will keep pets from harm.

"Some of the doors are very squeaky which was a bit of a pain when trying to put young kids to bed but thats only a minor thing. The lodge could do with a few minor refurbishments like the bathroom door was very old and chipped and some of the skirting boards in the bathroom were a bit tatty but we really couldnt fault the holiday at all. The hot tub and the washer/drier were an excellent addition"

"This lodge was perfect in every way from arrival onward. The beds were made on arrival & everything was spotlessly clean. The complimentary items were a nice touch & loved that it had a dishwasher & washing machine/dryer. The lodge was spacious for 4 people but feel pushing it to 6 may be overload but possible as their is a sofa bed...We managed to get this break in November at a greatly reduced rate & couldn't have been more happy with our overall stay.."

Mis matched furniture front door broken when came to mend it the maintenance man was very passive aggressive and stormed off when told door wasnt mended. "We had great 7 night stay, the lodge had everything we needed, was comfortable and warm. Clean on arrival, was really surprised at the space in the lodge. Used the gym and spa, the gym is basic but has everything you need to have a workout! The location is perfect, scenic, local walks and a few minute drive from cheddar gorge and other local amenities, places to eat. The bar has a good selection of drinks, we also had fun playing pool, bowling and air hockey!"

"Glastonbury Premiere lodge was very worn. Carpets and sofa were stained, curtains frayed. The fronts of the kitchen doors and cupboards were peeling. Bedroom drawer fronts fell off. Hot tub, jets did not all work. We were told that the park was full so no option to change lodges. Very expensive 3 day break in a poor quality lodge. Childrens activities were good, although not for very long for the cost. We will not be returning."

The resort has great facilities with tennis, bastketball, football and we signed up for some of the Go active activities sea scooters and sea kayaks were a hit. Our daughter also enjoyed the pirates paradise. The pool is fabulous, clean and modern. We visited on the first week of the school holidays and it never felt too busy. Go active staff were great."

Mendip Outdoor Pursuits is the perfect place for an action packed day of fun and is recommended for families with children aged 8 and over. The fantastic setting could hardly be better far activities such as Abseiling, Archery, Climbing, Caverning and Canoeing. The site also has a fantastic assault course. Family friendly activities include Raft Building and Nature Walks and environmental bush craft sessions.

The award wining Court Farm Country Park is the ideal all weather attraction with over 25000sq ft of playgrounds and attractions which are all undercover. Special events take place throughout the year in high season including talks and crafting sessions.

Brean Leisure Park in Somerset is the place to head for family fun. The site has over 130 rides and attractions with something for all ages and abilities. Adults and children alike will love the more traditional fairground rides which include waltzes, roller coasters and of course dodgems! Older kids and teenagers on the hunt for white knuckle attractions can try out the terrifying 'XTreme' ride - 130ft of exciting twists turns and drops. For younger children the Canoe River is one of the most popular rides and the whole family can team up to enjoy the Laser Quest. Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street. Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.

Puzzlewood is a somewhat unique attraction within the beautiful Forest of Dean. Visitors can explore the mile of pathways passing over wooden bridges and through some stunning tree and rock formations.
