"Really disappointing. Stayed in 4 bedroom lodge that is in desperate need of updating. Dining chairs falling apart. Broken bed that would of been see when being made up. Grounds full of dog mess and cigarette butts .Staff were very quick to assist us with issues"

"I would say this is one of the best locations I've been too, no entertainment which is brilliant as it's so quiet local area is lovely It is being developed but I hope n9t too much so it doesn't lose its friendly family run vibe"

"We stayed at this place recently and honestly, it felt like we were in a little home away from home. Everything was spotless and tidy, which was a relief. We always wash our dishes beforehand, but it was clear that everything had just been through the dishwasher, so no worries there. The hot tub was fantastic-clean and perfect for relaxing. My only gripe is that on the morning we checked out, we noticed someone, probably maintenance, walking around our lodge at about 8am and by 9am they were draining the hot tub. We could have easily been enjoying it! Our checkout was at 10am, so it felt a bit rushed, like they were eager to get us out. Still, a lovely stay overall."

"Place was clean and tidy; pretty much like a little house. I always pre-wash all tableware/cooking things we would use for peace of mind, and after checking them out you could tell everything had been in the dishwasher but had just been sat for a while. No issues. The hot tub is spot on and clean however my only complaint would be that on the morning of our checkout, we had (i assume) their maintenance worker walking around our lodge at 8am and already draining the hot tub towards 9am. After all we could have been in it! Our check out was 10am so it just felt like they were rushing to get us out."

"Good but could be a bit cleaner"

"Hi, I recently stayed at an accommodation that Ive booked with you. I checked in on Friday night to find tons of dead and alive flies in the building. We immediately called reception to address the issue we were then told that it hadnt been cleaned for a week and that maintenance would come out to resolve the issue. We then woke up Saturday morning to find the lodge infested again theyre everywhere its none stop we physically cannot relax. We have had to buy our own bug spray to try temporarily fix the issue while waiting for maintenance. Unfortunately, no one has come to help us. We have stayed at these lodge cabins for the past 4 years with family and friends. Weve never experienced anything like this and dont want too ever again. We left on Sunday unfortunately as I would rather be at home than have stayed any longer. The cabin smells, theres something rotten somewhere its really unacceptable and a possible health hazard. My concern is that youve allowed us to stay here, its disgusting and I cant say Ive experienced anything like this. the cabin hasnt been cleaned, maintained properly and its not up to standard and youve breached hygiene requirements. For what youve charged us, I wouldnt pay to stay here or recommend it after this experience. Its cost us so much more to travel down over 100miles for a complete disappointment. We look forward to our Christmas get away which has definitely become a nightmare."

"The lodge is lovely, but it really needs an update. Also, when guests arrive, a bit of heating should be on beforehand-it's huge, so it takes forever to warm up! Still enjoyed our stay though."

"The lodge was really lovely, we felt right at home. Everything was spotless, apart from a few plates and dishes, but honestly, we'd wash those anyway. The fridge and freezers were huge, perfect for storing everything. Bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious, which was great. We loved having both indoor and outdoor seating options. The hot tub was big enough for two and super clean. The wood burner was a real highlight. Would totally recommend this place!"

"The lodge was pretty spacious, though its showing some wear and tear inside. The fridge is tiny and the freezer compartment barely holds anything. Also, paying for Wi-Fi was a bit of a letdown, no freebies or basic condiments included."

"Weve been to Lakeside twice now, once back in 2015 and again recently this year. Both visits were lovely! The location is perfect and the place is kept really clean, which we appreciated. The staff are genuinely friendly and make you feel welcome. One thing we noticed on our latest trip is that the lodges could do with a bit of a refresh - some freshening up wouldnt go amiss. We did see work happening, like new walls around some lodges and the hot tubs area, so it seems theyre investing a little. Overall, wed recommend Lakeside, though a bit more modernisation would definitely improve things for the price."
