Best Romantic Log Cabins with Hot Tubs 2024

The UK is arguably one of the most romantic destinations in the world – from its quaint countryside villages just waiting to be discovered to its bustling cities teeming with life and activity, there is something for every couple.

Whether you want to escape everyday life and kick back in a cosy woodland log cabin spending your days sitting by a roaring fire playing board games, or you see yourself getting adventurous and trying new activities on a fun-filled holiday, then look no further.

Romantic Lodges With Hot Tubs

You may be thinking to yourself why exactly the UK could be considered as a top place for romantic travel and whilst you may not automatically associate the area with the romance of the Italian countryside or the lazily intimate French ambivalence, this is where you would be wrong.

After all, why do you think some of the greatest romance novels ever written, such as Pride and Prejudice or Normal People, were set in the UK? Answer: because no matter whether you are in the rolling hills of rural England or sat in the back of a London jazz bar, the UK lives and breathes romance.

Even the classically English act of going for a Sunday roast is filled with romance; think about all the love that goes into sharing a king-sized feast with the ones closest to you. So, instead of venturing further afield and flying out the country, save your pennies and explore all the wonderful things the UK has to offer.

We understand that where you stay can make or break your romantic getaway and for this reason, we have put together a list of the top 5 cabins, lodges and cottages to stay in order to provide you with the perfect experience for you. The best part? All of these lodges include their own private hot tub!

You’re spoiled for choice in the UK if you’re booking a couple’s getaway with everything from rustic cottages to luxury lodges just for two. You can also book last-minute breaks with many top lodges available if you’re on a budget. (See our Special Offers page).

What kinds of romantic accommodations are there?

Staying at a hotel on a city break is all well and good but the freedom couples can enjoy booking their own little accommodation is way better plus you get your own private hot tub. Choose from:

  • Cosy glamping pods – Not tried glamping yet? These mini-lodges are perfect of a weekend away or a one-night break.
  • Couple’s log cabins – There’s nothing like getting away from it all with your loved one in the middle of a forest.
  • Charming old cottages – Grade-listed properties that have been around a hundred or more years!
  • Treehouses for two – Some of the most memorable lodges for a couple’s escape. They cost a bit more but there are some fab quirky ones available!

From anniversary trips to that first holiday as a couple – some of the best places to book

Strawberryfield Park – Cheddar, England

Strawberryfield Park is excellently located on the outskirts of the stunning Mendip Hills, close to Bath, Wells and Glastonbury; three of the most picturesque places in England. At this holiday park you will find relaxing romantic lodges featuring wooden panelled furnishings, beautifully decorated interiors and private outdoor areas with bubbling hot tubs.

No matter which cabin you choose to stay in, you will not be disappointed as Strawberryfield Park is a small family-run business with fine attention to detail.

Spa treatments & other romantic ideas for couples staying in this area

Known for being one of the UK’s most beautiful cities, Bath makes for the textbook place to stay during your romantic retreat. Home to the Royal Crescent, a beautiful arched line of Georgian houses overlooking the world-famous Victoria Park, also featuring heavily in the steamy regency drama Bridgerton.

Whether you’re here for a one-night trip, or a weekend away there’s no end of exciting couple-friendly things to do in Bath, for example, visit the romantic Thermae Bath Spa and take a dip in the rooftop pool overlooking the city below and marvel at the views of Bath Abbey.

After de-stressing during one of the many massage treatments available, sit down for a bite to eat at the Thermae Bath Spa Tearooms where you can enjoy a glass of champagne and delicious treats.

Once you have had enough of all this relaxing (although I highly doubt you will!) slowly amble over to The Roman Baths and discover how to Romans would have lived 2,000 years ago. Even try some of the old Roman water if you are brave enough!

After this spoil your partner and treat them to an exquisite afternoon tea.

Found a short 15-minute drive away you will find Wells, the smallest city in the UK. Here you can discover the wonders of Wells Cathedral a magnificent Grade I listed building built in the early 1100s. Furthermore, if you happen to be lucky enough to visit on a Wednesday then make sure to check out Wells Farmer’s Market where you can pick up locally sourced food and handmade products.

Or, If you don’t fancy spending money, sit in one of the nearby parks and watch the world go by as you people watch and listen to the birds sing.

Exciting days out and romantic ideas for couples staying nearby

For the adventurous couples out there, head over to Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England. Here you will find plenty of exciting activities to try, for example, give outdoor climbing a go and scale up the rugged rocks.

Or rent mountain bikes and go zipping down the many trails carved into the rock. For those who like to take things slower, there are lots of beautiful walking trails both up the mountain or around the surrounding area, all of which provide beautiful views across the landscape.

If you do decide to climb up the mountain, make sure to bring appropriate footwear, as the ground can get slippery.

Another romantic must-see is that of Lake Windemere, a huge lake burrowed within the stunning countryside. Although there are plenty of walking routes around the lake, possibly one of the most romantic options is to rent a paddle boat and take it out into the middle of the lake. Why not bring a picnic with you and enjoy it whilst in the heart of this idyllic setting.

Make sure to bring your swimmers as just saying the tranquillity of this lake will make you and your partner want to dive right in. For those who are up for a little more fun, paddle boards are available for hire around the lake.

If you are looking for something a little different, grab a ticket online and head over to Theatre by the Lake. Quite possibly one of the most scenic and atmospheric theatres in the UK, there are many plays available to say here and it is well worth a visit (even to just the café) as it looks over Derwentwater found near to the town of Keswick where you will find plenty of great restaurants and cafes.

See our fantastic lodges with hot tubs in Keswick

Then head back to your lodge, cabin or glamping pod and spend some quality time with your partner in the hot tub.

Faringdon GrangeThe Cotswolds, England

Located right on the edge of the Cotswolds, the all-new Farringdon Grove as an idyllic location for couples to relax and escape to a getaway offering romance by the bucket load. Helped by the lovely location and beautiful on-site lake, this holiday park is ideal for couples seeking a calming romantic getaway for couples.

Two of the lodges feature their own private hot tub, from which you can enjoy pristine views across the grange whilst soaking up the Oxfordshire sun. Make the most out of your stay here and prepare yourselves dinner for two in the fully equipped designer kitchen.

Romantic ideas for couples staying nearby

Due to the Cotswolds being an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty there are plenty of picturesque towns and villages to explore. One of these being the quaint village of Bibury, once described by William Morris as being ’the most beautiful village in England’.

Get lost exploring the quintessentially British cobbled streets – don’t miss a visit to Arlington Row, perhaps one of the most photographed streets in the Cotswolds.

After a long day exploring the many trails of the Cotswolds, leave some time to visit Stow-on-the-Wold where you will find ornate antique shops, interesting market stalls and cute cafes. These antique shops are famous for being particularly well-stocked, so make sure to properly scour all they have to offer.

After your visit to the shops, catch a glimpse of the north door at St Edward’s Church which is said to have inspired J.R.R Tolkien’s Door of Durin in The Lord of the Rings. If you and your partner are photography enthusiasts, then bring your cameras and create long lasting memories together by capturing your favourite romantic moments throughout your trip to this beautiful area.

For a pint to remember, drive over to The Wild Rabbit pub located in Chipping Norton where you can nestle in beside the cosy fireplaces. Either play cards whilst watching the sun go down or share a romantic evening letting yourself be pampered by the lovely staff whilst sipping a blissful pint of cold beer. If you feel like splashing out, book yourself a table for a fine dining experience like no other.

Florence Springs Glamping – Tenby, Wales

For those of you who may have been off put by the dreaded word ‘glamping’ do not fear as Florence Springs offers so much more than just a tent in a field. Found on the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast, this retreat features a wide range of boutique accommodation options, from yurts and treehouses to lodges and hideaways.

For an experience like no other book yourself into The Woodland Hideaway where you will find a quaint little hobbit house waiting for you. Complete with a charmingly rustic open-air shower, secluded garden, wood-fired jacuzzi and firepit, The Woodland Hideaway is ideal for those wanting a detox from the outside world.

Romantic couples days out near this lodge

At night grab a blanket and cuddle under the beautiful Pembrokeshire night sky and watch as the stars come out to play. Alternatively, stay at Pyatts Nest Treehouse which quite literally is found up a tree.

Complete with an outdoor swing to cosy up in at night and a slide taking you from the treehouse to the ground, this lodge is the perfect place to stay for all the fun-loving couples out there.

With the town of Tenby being a very short drive away, this fantastically quirky retreat could not be in a better location. In Tenby, you will find a glorious harbour from which you can watch boats go in and come out whilst scoffing locally sourced fish and chips.

Or explore the 13th-century town walls and Victorian homes and discover the rich history of the town and whilst we may have moved on from the Victorian times, the excitement and spirit of a trip to the seaside can truly be experienced here. No visit to Tenby is complete without a peruse around the old Tenby Castle, once occupied by the Normans during their invasion of Wales in the 12th century.

Take the 20-minute drive to Stackpole where you will find Bosherton Lily Ponds. Take a leisurely stroll arm in arm around the ponds which will take you across a causeway, up a limestone path and over a quaint little bridge.

As you wander this beautiful trail stop every now and again to search for the otters that spend their days here relaxing in the serene waters. After your visit to the ponds, why not take a look at the nearby Broadhaven Beach and perhaps take a quick dip in the water?

Osmington Mills Lodge Park – Dorset, England

Complete with all the features you could possibly need to make your romantic getaway unforgettable Osmington Mills Lodge Park is truly one to remember. Set within Osmington Mills, a tranquil hamlet within Dorset, this park boasts an outdoor heated pool surrounded by shady trees and greenery, a gym for all you active couples, a beer garden and a pool table to ignite a bit of friendly competition.

The beautiful lodges here come with a homely fireplace perfect for relaxing in front of after an adventurous day exploring all Dorset has to offer.

The wooden beamed rooves and soft lighting in these lodges, along with your own private hot tub, give these lodges a lovely romantic feel.

Romantic days out near these lodges

Located very close by is the National Trust site of Ringstead Bay, an idyllic pebble beach on which to spend a day chilling by the crystal-clear water.

After a refreshing dip in the sea spend some time exploring the coastal paths leading off from the beach and seeing where you end up. Whichever direction you head in you will be met with stunning views out to sea. If you visit Ringstead Bay in the late afternoon, be sure to stay for the sunset and watch as the sun meets the horizon and slowly falls behind the sea.

Visit the 18th-century Abbotsbury Subtropical gardens nestled within the local woodland. Due to having its own microclimate, you will find rare plants growing in these gardens all year round. After marvelling at the beautiful flowers, hike up to the viewpoint for beautiful views over the Jurassic Coast with its jagged cliff edges and sheer drops.

There is also a rope bridge which you and your partner can enjoy walking over as you make your way through the gardens. Make sure to check out their programme to find out about any events being held at the gardens for an extra special day out – you might get lucky and happen to see one of the many shows they put on throughout the year!

Final tips on picking the most romantic hot tub break

  • You can visit in the Winter months as well as the Summer ones! Although you’ll need to pack the big coats, jumpers and scarves, nothing beats a cosy weekend in a glamping hut or a log cabin as Christmas draws near. Lodge parks are open all year round but book early as New Years and Xmas can get especially busy!
