Allerthorpe Golf and Country Park Reviews

"Super clean and tidy"
Chris - Apr 2024
"Had a lovely time on my holiday away from the site so not all bad."
Verified Guest - Apr 2024
"When we arrived the shelves were very dusty and this was obvious when coming downstairs although everything else seemed clean it wasnt a great first impression. Also when we first opened up the hot tub it was 41 degrees. There was a sign next to it stating not to go in if it was over 40 degrees so this meant we could not use the hot tub at all for the first of what was only a 3 night stay as it would not cool below this level."
Stephen - Apr 2024
"Amazing nice lodge and amazing hot tub and very clean and perfect size for 4 people and 1 dog the things in there for the kitchen is amazing we could cook all day and comes with all the stuff that we needed bedrooms were nice and clean and the bathrooms were nice and clean but some things were abit broke like the shower holder it came off the wall because it rusted but overall it was good"
Verified Guest - Apr 2024
"We were not given the ladge we paid for and were expected to make do with a 2 bedroom log cabin for 3 adult couples 2 of which had severe health issues making the accommodation that the park allocated us completely inappropriate for our needs. If we could have managed with a 2 bedded log cabin I would have booked this!!!Very upset with the whole situation"
Kelly - Apr 2024
"Wouldn't recommend anyone going to this site, main reason is the reception staff"
Verified Guest - Apr 2024
"The lodge was amazing. The best lodge id ever stayed in. Couldnt fault anything about it. It had everything we needed and more. Will definitely be coming back."
Rebecca - Feb 2024
"My 11yo boy, my 9yo girl, my wife and I stayed here for 4 nights during Feb Half term 2024, it's a great location 25 mins from York and 45 mins from flamingo land and the east coast. We arrived at the friendly welcoming reception They gave us a map with the barrier code, key code and WiFi password for our lodge. We proceeded to 27 Royal Westmoorland Drive at the back of the site. There had been a lot of local flooding in the area and the site was waterlogged but I don't think that is the norm. The whole site was very well kept. We arrived at a clean and warm lodge the beds made and the normal tea, coffee and biscuits in the kitchen. The owners of the lodge had left a welcome folder with local info in it which was helpful. The two twin rooms in the lodge were very small and had very narrow beds, the lodge only has 1 bathroom(the en suite advertised in the description is only a toilet and sink off the double room). Additionally there were only 4 chairs for the dinner table the other 2 seats being stools, only comfortable seating for 5 in the living room and the hot tub was lovely but again not what I would call suitable for 6 grown adults. The lodge was perfect for the 4 of us and the only reason I mention the above is that it would be quite easy from the description of this lodge to assume it is suitable for 6 adults on a relaxing break away but it isn't. It is ideal for a family of 4 with 2 smaller children.I have stayed in a lot of hot tub lodges and the normal complaints were the same with this one. Decent plastic glasses, please have some larger ones. The last thing you want to do is get back out of the hot tub to refill your drink. Hanging hooks, the lodge is for 6 people so supply at least 6 hooks in a suitable place to hang 6 towels. Good ponts. Smart TV with food WiFi. Flame effect heater with remote. Workable kitchen with good fridge and freezer space. A large gas hob (maybe too big for this lodge and gas on glass is a pain to clean). Iron and ironing board. Warm and cosy with plenty of hot water. Quiet and relaxing area of the site. We ventured out every day and we were out for all meals except breakfast so we didn't get a chance to use the on-site JJ'S but it looked popular. There is a burger king, KFC, garage with shop just a few mins drive away from the site for quick snacks and essentials and an Aldi and Sainsbury's in Pocklington about 8 mins drive away. If you go to Pocklington, I recommend Burnby Hall Gardens. Beautiful to walk round and feed the fish."
Andrew - Feb 2024
"It was a nice holiday, the washer broke and there were a few stains on the bed sheets but apart from that it was delightful."
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Excellent lodge and park"
Steven - Jan 2024
"We had a good Christmas holiday and relaxing."
Julian - Jan 2024
"A fantastic beautiful lodge. The little extras of a Christmas tree which was fabulously decorated and a stocking with chocolates in just gave it that extra nice thoughtful touch. The view over the lake was superb with 3 fountains going over the festive period was lovely. The only thing i would recommend is that you take a hairdryer and dressing gown. This might have been my fault for not reading what was supplied though. Overall the cabin was pristine and very comfortable."
HELEN - Jan 2024
"Absolutely brilliant stay for Christmas we loved it. Just just found a few places on carpet not as clean as we thought with us having young children apart from that it was beautiful"
Melissa - Dec 2023
"Turn berry 7 was a very nice lodge that could easily make 5-star ratings were it not for a couple of easily sorted items. It would have been nice if the lodge had been decorated for a Christmas booking, had soft seating indoors for 6, in line with the bed spaces, similarly with crockery, etc for 6. Leaving the outdoor furniture cushions unprotected made them unusable in between the showers, which was a shame. That said, it was warm, comfortable, good tech and white goods and we would happily stay again."
Malcolm - Dec 2023
"This accommodation looks absolutely nothing like the pictures - much smaller and not as nice.We also had dirty bedding and dirty towels and when we flagged this to reception we didnt even receive an apology"
Laura - Nov 2023
"Great time was had"
Simon - Nov 2023
"Really nice and clean lodge."
Vijay - Nov 2023
"lovely stay at allerthorpe / change from Cumbria holidays"
Sharon - Nov 2023
"Unable to rate the restaurant as was disappointed that we were unable to use it due to a wedding having exclusive use."
Hannah - Jul 2023
"Excellent park. Extremely clean. Minor defects in lodge reported to reception. No real problems during our stay."
Colin - Jul 2023
"Beautiful holiday we had and will definitely return we were in 7 St Andrews and it was just perfect"
Michelle - May 2023
"The lodges are modern clean and spacious"
Lauren - Jun 2022
"Would reccomend this site it was superb"
Kay - Jun 2022
"Couldn't fault the cabin we stayed in. It was immaculate and had such a homely feel but allerthorpe it's self was disappointing."
Elisha - May 2022
"Great lodge and hot tub."
Diane - May 2022
"Lodge was lovely. Couple of issues 1 being no mirrors had been put up in rooms. Had to ask for hot tub to be cleaned one of the days. Tv in main living room kept switching itself off."
Tracy - Apr 2022
"Beautiful lodge with lots of space. The hot tub was great."
Ben - Apr 2022
"When booked understood it was a lake view but told on arrival not a lake view"
David - Apr 2022
"All was very lovley only issues we had were dirty fry pan ,jug I refused to use so managed ,man put stuff in hot tub on the Thurs p.m told us not to use 4 an hr so didn't but then couldn't because it went absolutely filthy brown scum all over also went to on site club to eat on last eve as no food in now told couldn't accommodate us fully booked we sat had drink for 1 and half hrs and lots of empty tables when complained told kitchen couldn't manage recovering from covid pandemic !!!! They lost £50we went hungry on our last night"
Doreen - Apr 2022
"I would 100% recommend booking a platinum VIP lodge, ours were stunning!"
Toni - Apr 2022
"Excellent holiday park, the lodge, waterside, was in need of some renovations but was clean. You can tell it had been there for some time. All the park handymen were very friendly and helpful, hot tub was checked daily. Over all we would recommend this park."
Linda - Jul 2022
"First time in Yorkshire and what a fabulous setting this was. Accommodation was clean and check in was brilliant. All staff were friendly and JJ's was lovely. Would definitely return when next in Yorkshire."
Mandy - Jul 2022
"Lovely relaxing short break in a fabulous lodge with hot tub set in beautiful surroundings ."
Robert - Jul 2022
"Nice quiet place to stay . Lovely clean accommodation with good facilities and good well kept golf course."
Susan - Jun 2022
"Second time we ve been lodges are clean plenty of space . Lovely surroundings . Had a lovely relaxing weekend"
Elizabeth - Jun 2022
"The park is a relatively new site alongside the golf course. The staff were friendly & helpful, the maintenance staff very efficient. While we were there the week days were quite & relaxing but come the weekend the noise level increases considerably with the extra numbers of holiday makers."
Michael - Jun 2022
"The only downside I have is that the Internet connection was poor therefore we could not watch the TV or play music without it buffering and there is not much signal for mobile phones. I think there could be a welcome pack provided with instructions for the cabin and hot tub"
Wendy - Jun 2022
"Beautiful lodge and excellent food"
Kath - Jun 2022
"We loved the lodge and hot tub very well equipped and spotless. Jj restaurant lovely food good and big portions staff nice. The golf course was really good my grandsons loved it the site is very well mentained and we will definitely be back"
