The Springs Resort & Golf Club Reviews

"We stayed in a really nice chalet that was super well-kept. The kitchen was fantastic - really well stocked and easy to use. The living space was thoughtfully laid out, making it feel cosy but functional. Privacy was great and the hot tub was spotless, which we loved. Only tiny gripe was the bedroom lighting - it was quite dim, even after staff replaced the bulb quickly. Definitely one of the best places we've stayed around here!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"We really loved the location and the beautiful surroundings-such a peaceful spot! The lodge has real potential to be fantastic, but sadly, we were disappointed by the cleanliness. The bathroom had black mould around the shower and a grubby shower head, which was a let-down. The main living space wasnt cleaned properly either; tables were sticky and the floor hadnt been hoovered. We told reception and they sent cleaners, but sadly, nothing changed. Luckily, we brought our own cleaning stuff and tidied up ourselves. Also, for self-catering, be aware that the lodge was pretty sparse on kitchen essentials, so bring what you need if you plan to cook. Still, wed visit again!"
Alex M. - Mar 2025
"We had a really nice stay overall. The resort was lovely and the lodge was cosy. There were a couple of maintenance issues like the dishwasher not working and a slow sink drain, but aside from that, everything was great. The onsite restaurant was a real highlight too!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay! The staff were super friendly and made us feel at home. The lodge was cosy and the spa staff were lovely. Food in the restaurant was great value too!"

"Our The Springs Resort & Golf Club review: Great spot for a festive getaway. Beds were super comfy and the place was spotless. Well stocked kitchen too!"
Emma Clarke - Dec 2024
"Really impressed with the lodges. Theyre warm, well kitted out and the beds are super comfy. The deck with seating is a lovely touch too!"
Sarah - Apr 2024
"We really think the kitchen utensils could do with an upgrade to better quality and a more modern TV would be great for logging into Prime or Netflix. Also, the sofas could be a bit more comfy, but overall, it's decent."
Emily - Apr 2024
"Really enjoyed it, will come back!"
Harriet - Mar 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely lodge. The enclosed garden was perfect for relaxing and the hot tub was a bonus!"
Emma - Mar 2024
"We had a fantastic stay at The Lodge! It was super clean, well kitted out and kept us warm even in March. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hot tub was a real highlight after busy days exploring. Can't wait to come back!"
Emily Carter - Mar 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge, especially the outdoor space with views of the pond - its such a tranquil setting! The interior was modern and tastefully decorated, making it feel cosy yet stylish. The hot tub was a real highlight; perfect for unwinding after a day out. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfy, we slept like logs. That said, the cleanliness could have been better - found a dusty T-shirt on top of the fridge and one toilet bowl was a bit grubby. Still, wed come back!"
Alex - Jan 1970
"We had a lovely stay over Christmas at the lodge. It really feels quite luxurious and has everything you could need for a few days away. We knew some outdoor facilities would be closed at times, but honestly, we didnt miss a thing inside. Its perfect for a comfy break!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"Really enjoyed the whole thing"
Emily Carter - Jan 1970
"We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it was pretty lovely overall. The view from the balcony was really calming and made our mornings special. The beds were super comfy, which is always a plus after a day out exploring. We appreciated the little touches like the tea, coffee, sugar and milk already being there, plus toiletries in the bathroom - made things so much easier. A small thing wed suggest is bringing some hot tub towels if youre a group of four, as they werent provided. The only real downside was some mess left in a cupboard with mouldy rolls and crisps, plus loads of empty bags and a crisp packet hidden at the side of a bed - not great. Also, the bathroom couldve been cleaner, with fluff and hair on the floor and under the radiator. Apart from those minor issues, it was a lovely stay!"
Emily - Jan 1970
"We had such a lovely time at the lodge! Honestly, it was the perfect spot for our girls' weekend - super cosy with a stunning view of the mill pond that we woke up to every morning. We couldnt get enough of the hot tub, practically living in it most days. The location was great too; we explored some pretty villages and took in some amazing walks with loads of birds and wildlife. The nearby donkey sanctuary was a lovely surprise. The staff were genuinely friendly and gave us great tips on where to eat and explore nearby. Overall, were really happy with our stay, thanks so much!"
Emily - Jan 1970
"Really enjoyed our stay, the staff made us feel so welcome and at home. Will come back!"
Sam - Jan 1970
"Overall, we found the place to be quite clean and tidy, which was great. A bit more care in some spots wouldve been nice - our rainfall shower was out of action because of limescale on the shower head, which was a bit of a letdown since we love those! The flickering lights werent a big deal, just a minor nuisance."
Emma - Jan 1970
"Great place, will visit again!"
Sam - Jan 1970
"We loved the Mill Pond Lodges! The view was stunning, the place had everything we needed and the spa was a real treat. Highly recommend!"

"Very good resort, high quality accomodation, great facilities and really good value for money."
Kevin - Jul 2022
"Almost perfect. Lovely new lodge, really well equipped. Two bedrooms with en-suite shower, would’ve like a bath. Plenty of wardrobe space. Open plan bright spacious but.. large decking surrounded by trees that blocked sunlight all day. Gorgeous site quiet location shame about the trees."
Joanne - Jun 2022
"Amazing place, with great views and surroundings, friendly staff and having the use of the bar and restaurant is a great addition, would highly recommend, lodges are well fitted and the hot tub was superb"
Steve - Jun 2022

"The Hawthorn Lodge was well equipped and spacious. All of the Springs Resort staff were welcoming and very friendly. We dined twice in the restaurant over the weekend, the food and service was excellent. We wouldn’t hesitate to return."
Liz - May 2022
"Lodge location was absolutely fantastic over looking the lake . Hot tub was a real treat for us . Very clean and checked twice a day . Lodge hill was clean and well equipped for kitchen utensils, we cooked every day . On-site restaurant has limited opening times . By the golf club is The Ridge public footpath , about 50 minutes into Wallingford , but worth the stroll . Wallingford was a very enjoyable village . Museum very interesting if you have no idea of area. Helpful staff . Wallingford Tearooms definitely worth a visit . Will definitely return to these lodges and Wallingford."
Philip - May 2022
"The Resort is quite new and all the grounds have yet to mature, with develpment still taking place on further lodges & cabins, which in no way effected our stay, and the Club house was quite handy for good food & drink with helpful staff, also Resort is in good location for touring the Chilterns. Some small bits will get sorted (like recycling etc.) as the site progresses like the Darwin site we have used in Derbyshire."
Stephen - May 2022
"Outstanding resort, with knowledgeable and extremely helpful staff. Would highly recommend."
Lisa - May 2022
"Absolutely brilliant stay. Lodge was brand new and super clean. The surroundings were beautiful, our balcony overlooked the water with swans and lots of bird life. Lots of red kites to watch! The hot tub was checked twice daily and really clean. Staff were brilliant and so friendly. Treatments at the spa were superb and the golf course was great! Kitchen was well equipped, coffee machine as well. Walking footpaths nearby, and the village of Wallingford very pretty. Cannot say a bad word about our stay, we had a brilliant time. We will definitely be back."

Attractions Near The Springs Resort & Golf Club

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to The Springs Resort & Golf Club. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Pendon Indoor Model Village and Railways - OX12 8EA
about 6 Miles
This is an all weather attraction in Abingdon, Oxfordshire which will appeal to all ages.  The model trains are fascinating to watch and we love the model village in the Vale Scene.  The exhibits have been well thought out and it's a pleasure to wander around this museum looking at everything on offer.  You can be assured of a warm welcome from the moment you arrive and for kids and adults alike this makes a fun and educational day out.
Farmer Gows - SN7 8DA
about 20 Miles
Farmer Gows is a recommended attraction in the Faringdon area of Oxfordshire and will be especially suited to families with young children.  The little ones will love coming to see the farm animals including pigs, cows and lambs.  The meet the animals session takes place every day and includes handling the animals, walking the goats, feeding the pigs and cows and egg collecting.  Look out for special seasonal events throughout the year such as the Halloween Party, Lambing and children's workshops.  The latest news from the farm is that they have some Saddleback piglets and Speckledy chicks arriving shortly.
Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens - OX18 4JP
about 26 Miles
This has to be one of the most popular days out in Oxfordshire and is sure to appeal to nature lovers, animal lovers and keen gardeners.  Families and couples will enjoy wandering around this amazing park with a wide variety of mammals and birds to see as well as reptiles. Some of the most popular animals are the Burrowing Owl, Dexter Cow, African Pancake Tortoise and the Bar Headed Goose.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and special offers.
Studley Grange Garden and Leisure Park - SN4 9QT
about 31 Miles
Studley Grange Garden and Leisure Park is a fantastic attraction based in Swindon, Wiltshire.  For nature lovers and those who like to get out and explore this is the perfect day out.  It's also an all weather attraction with Butterfly World being part of the site.  Butterfly World is kept at around 85 degrees year round so this makes a perfect place to visit in all seasons. A visit to the Craft Village is also recommended where there are a wide range of handcrafted gifts.
RHS Garden Wisley - GU23 6QB
about 32 Miles
RHS Garden Wisley is an excellent choice for a day trip, offering excellent value for money all year round. A yearly membership is available so visitors can take advantage of the parks attractions as often as they wish. On entry to the park visitors can pick up a family trail which offers suggestions of places within the grounds to visit and explains all the fun things to do in the garden. There are many areas to explore including the beautiful Rose Garden, the amazing Glasshouse and the Café which served home made locally sourced food.
Chessington World of Adventures - KT9 2NE
about 37 Miles
Chessington World of Adventures has a well deserved reputation and one of the best theme parks in the UK the site is crammed with rides for adrenaline junkies including Vampire rollercoaster which fly's through Transylvania and the Tomb Blaster which is not for the faint hearted the site also boasts a fantastic Sea Life Centre and a range of attractions for younger children including daily shows and talks.
Catanger Llama Trekking - NN12 8LJ
about 38 Miles
This is a really unique attraction and certainly worth a visit in our opinion.  Established in 1995 and situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside this attraction will appeal to those looking for something a little different.  You can't ride the animals but you can trek alongside them and enjoy the fantastic scenery.  From farm tracks to country lanes the gentle animals will carry your rucksack for you along the way.  There are personally guided treks available all year round and you will have your own Llama for the trek.
