Stratford Upon Avon Lodge Retreat Reviews

"Perfect from start to finish.Peaceful, Clean and well equipped with all the mod cons.Dishwasher washer/dryer fridge freezer. Amazing cooking area microwave. All pots and pans nothing left out.Even a t towel roll inside a small washing up liquid and sponge. The staff were lovely the housekeepers all do there jobs very well.Parking is a little scarce but didn't effect the stay.We will definitely be back refreshed and truly not wanting to leave Large smart TV comfortable leather sofa. Comfy bed. Heating is very good and heats the lodge very quickly."
KAREN TAYLOR - Mar 2025
"Great break not too far from home."
Rebekah - Mar 2025
"Lovely lodge"
Wendy - Mar 2025
"We really enjoyed our stay.Lodge was well equipped and plenty warm enough.Settee/armchairs were not so comfortable, but not bad enough to spoil our stay. Few tweaks needed e.g.could not open bathroom window(fortunately there was a fan)Pull cord for bedroom blind was broken on one window so could not let light in.There was no dustpan/brush or broomwhich we found surprising. We always endeavour to leave a place as we find it so was a bit disappointed at this."

"We had the most perfect lodge weekend break, we did have a problem whilst away but the staff onsite sorted this in literally minutes for us. the general manager was onsite and he went above and beyond for us. Gorgeous lodge and its surroundings was beautiful!"
Verified Guest - Feb 2025
"Wonderful weekend . Just a shame the guests at the Chalet next to us decided to party all night"
Verified Guest - Feb 2025
"Lovely lodge with everything you need. Maybe a few more cups and plates. But everything felt new. Having a bath and shower is perfect."
Lee - Feb 2025
"Our 2 bedroom lodge was clean and had all the facilities we needed to self cater with 2 young children. Plenty of space plus 1 bathroom with shower and 1 with bath was perfect."
Verified Guest - Feb 2025
"Lovely weekend breakaway. The chalet was lovely not quite as clean in the kitchen area as it could have been but nothing we couldn't manage. Bedding and towels were immaculate."
Melanie - Feb 2025
"Perfect place had a great time only thing up was a leaky shower but nothing major."
Verified Guest - Feb 2025
"There is little more to say than this site is perfect for us and our needs. Great value for money, well maintained facilities including a daily check of the hot tub, comfortable accommodation with a private parking space. Good wifi, good central heating and a fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans. We love it here (have visited twice before). Stay here. You will not regret it."
Jack - Feb 2025
"Great break away! Perfect in every way. Hot tub was amazing, staff came every morning to check chemicals and temperature. Lovely clean and quiet site."
Lauren - Feb 2025
"Stayed at the end of January for a 3 night getaway - Stayed in cabin 21, 3 bed. Cabin was clean and came with a hot tub, hot tub was checked daily by staff which I liked. With it being a winter stayed I found the cabin lovely a warm, my husband found it to warm and did turn the radiators down a little however, this was an easy fix and glad it was to warm and not the other way round ????Took my dog, weather as you can imagine was not great however the cabin had a mud room, I found this very useful when coming back from the dog walks, gave time to clean up. We even got a dogie back when we arrived, this was a nice touch. Facilities in the cabin came with all that you would need from cooking utensils to toilet roll. All in all I would recommend to anyone that is looking for this kind of stay. Very good ????"
Sarah - Feb 2025
"Loved it there and can't recommend enough. Very clean and spacious. Close to town but also out the way so you can really relax."
Verified Guest - Jan 2025
"Everything i put into my review of the overall site. Facilities did not work, it has been neglected. Has lots of potential but they need to fix the issues ASAP. Very disappointed and let down. Hottub and bath do not work. And take some oven cleaner and dishwasher tablets to clean everything before using...not a great break away especially for the money."
Verified Guest - Jan 2025
"A lovely site but parking our car was a fair walk with luggage as we couldnt park anywhere near. Not great in icy weather conditions. Maybe providing wheel barrows would be a good idea as we had a lot of stuff. Good job we arent old! We loved our stay here. The lodge was beautiful and we would definitely stay again. There were a few issuesthe sofa was awful. Not comfortable at all. There was no throw or cushions. We took the duvet and the pillows off the bed to try and make it comfortable. The jets didnt work in the hot tub so it was like sitting in a hot bath. We loved the fact that the hot tub was covered though. We had 3 drink glasses, 1 coaster, and the bottle opener was broken so we couldnt open bottled beer. A pirex jug is definitely needed. These things were just annoying but we managed without. We would definitely stay again as it was lovely overall but would try and get a lodge with a better sofa. Great location too."
Gemma - Jan 2025
"Really high standard of accommodation"
Verified Guest - Jan 2025
"Hot tub wasnt up to scratch this time. Lots of jets not working. There is nothing to make fresh coffee in. And no washing up accessories. A few dish washer tabs and washing up liquid would be helpful. Or say in your info that you need to take your own. Staff very helpful and place lovely overall."
Verified Guest - Nov 2024
"Quiet park in the countryside, with lovely nature filled grounds. Lodges are reasonably new and lovely spaces to stay in. However, they could make them 10/10 with some simple changes AND more importantly improve their impact on the environment e.g.Superking bed was made up with king linen - too small. The kitchen had cupboard knobs missing, no dust pan brush, no measuring jug, no frying pan. Not even quite enough knives, forks and spoons, and only 1 plate & bowl each. No dishwasher tablets or washing up liquid was provided. No separate recycling bin. No hairdryer. Broken window 'mended' with sticky tape Providing just the bare minimum of crockery & cutlery means the dishwasher will be run almost empty, repeatedly, or endless bowls of hot washing up water will be run, neither of which are kind to the planet. The literature is digital - for the environmental benefits - and the encouragement to recycle is heavily marketed with the environmental benefits, and yet, it is difficult to occupy the lodges in an environmentally gentle way, due to this big issue of missing kitchen equipment. A separate recycling bin would also encourage waste being correctly split. Come on Darwin Escapes, do your bit for the planet and fix these issues for future guests!"
Sophie - Nov 2024
"Lovely clean lodge, very spacious and up to date decor. Beds were very comfy"
Katie - Oct 2024
"Lovely park, clean inside and around on paths"
Jill - Aug 2022
"We had a lovely week at stratford on avon lodge retreat it was beautifully laid out and extremely quiet. Some of the lodges did seem to be a bit of a walk from the designated car park which would make it very awkward for some people carrying their luggage . Overall it is a lovely place to stay"
Margaret - Aug 2022
"We did not want to leave. Our neighbours did not want to leave. The lodges were perfect. This pretty much sums it up! It’s so relaxing - what a lovely area of the world."
Judith - Aug 2022
"A lovely modern lodge in a perfect location close to many lovely towns and villages."
Helen - Aug 2022
"We had a lovely holiday in the lodge, well equipped with everything you need for your holiday, the only thing we would say is that the bath didn't get even luke warm so had to fill it up from the boiling hot water from the sink, we mentioned this to the very helpful receptionist who sent someone to have a look at it but said it that the temperature was regulated to stop accidents buti it didn't even get luke warm The views were amazing and not far down the road was Hatton Village, a great place for all the family."
Anne - Aug 2022
"Lovely lodge & only 10 minutes away from Stratford upon Avon city centre"
Array - Aug 2022
"Great holiday, will definitely be coming back. Barbara at reception was so welcoming and helpful, the works needs more people like Barbara!!"
DEBORAH - Aug 2022
"Excellent quiet location. Good base to visit surrounding areas. Dog next door did keep barking and the children kept hitting their ball against our van. One point thought they had broken a window."
Rachel - Aug 2022
"Quite location, would book again."
Martin - Jul 2022
"The lodge was stunning. Stylish but cosy. Very well appointed. The bed and en suite with freestanding bath and shower room was a real treat. The surroundings were very well kept. Not sure if letting the wild flowers grow between lodges is deliberate but we loved it. It's a short drive to Stratford on Avon and easy to get a taxi. We'd love to stay here again."
Sam - Jul 2022
"Very nice site and the Lodge was just perfect also a great location which was nice and quite."
