Most of the time it will be hot by the time you reach your lodge as owners know that people like to get straight in there. It's worth finding out whether you can use the hot tub on checkout day and what time it will be emptied.
Yes! There are many accessible trails for those looking to get into hiking. Dodd wood and Mirehouse near Keswick have a range of trails. Bassenthwaite Lakeside Lodges offer stylish lodges with hot tubs just a short distance away. Aira Force Waterfall Walk is also a popular choice for novice hikers.
How much food to pack will depend greatly on where you stay and how often you intend to eat at pubs and restaurants. Many lodges, such as those at Fallbarrow, have access to an onsite shop, off licence and restaurant. There will be small shops in each town and village so food can be bought in the area if needed.
