Tucked away in 270 hectares of beech trees, Blackwood Forest has atmosphere in spades. It really is unique - a retreat surrounded by nature and well away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The park sits within the Forestry Commission Estate and there are loads of walks and bike rides right on your doorstep.
Blackwood Forest Lodges has a coffee lounge and shop, and its own site ranger who can take you on guided walks and activities. Hampshire is renowned for its unspoilt beaches and seaside towns, such as Bournemouth and Southampton, which are full of lively cafés, bars and restaurants as well as a host of entertainment venues.
Golden Oak Hideaway is ideal if you're getting away for a romantic break; it's been built exclusively for a couple and has panoramic views of the forest. The ensuite bathroom has a sunken bath big enough for two and you can enjoy lounging in the hammock, relaxing in the outdoor hot tub - or staying cosy by the log burning stove.
The historic dockyard at Portsmouth is a great place to visit - you can take a stroll around the Mary Rose, which sat at the bottom of the sea for almost 450 years!
