Walworth Castle Holiday Cottage

Walworth Castle holiday cottage has a really unique setting in the grounds of Walworth Castle Hotel.  We can imagine it would feel very grand pulling up to stay in the grounds of a castle. As well as the lovely scenery there is also the advantage of having a hotel on the doorstep for eating and drinking, and beautiful grounds to explore.

There are a few dining options at the hotel including 1189 Bar and Restaurant. Just 2 minutes walk from the cottage.  In reading the reviews it sounds as though the Sunday Lunch here is not to be missed so if you can book your stay at the cottage over a weekend then even better!

The cottage itself has two bedrooms, one double and one twin. Perfect for families.  Inside there is an open plan living area with kitchen as well as a dining area and sitting area with a sofa bed.

Want to bring your dog? No problem! This cottage at Walworth Castle Hotel is pet friendly and welcomes 2 well behaved dogs.

If you’re driving to your cottage stay then there is plenty of parking – room for 2 cars.

Just a few mod cons included are the ipod stick and TV with Freeview so you can watch your favourite programme if you choose to after a day of exploring the Northern Dales.

You may prefer to relax in your private hot tub which is in the lovely enclosed patio area to the rear.

Walworth Castle is a Grade 1 listed castle from the 12th Century and operates as a lovely hotel. From afternoon tea to 3 course meals you can dine at the hotel.

Guests can use all of the hotel grounds and there is a play area for children too.

For days out you could head to Barnard Castle around 20 minutes away or a bit further afield The Forbidden Corner in North Yorkshire is brilliant.

Further North you could visit the Cathedral city of Durham with many bars, restaurants and shops in a historic riverside setting.

There’s everything you could need in the kitchen for a relaxed weekend away. Definitely somewhere I would return with husband and child as there’s a playground on site as well, with some animals in the nearby field. Staff very friendly. There were 2 weddings going on the weekend we stayed – and you’d never have known! So quiet and relaxing. 10/10 recommend.
