If you don’t want your four legged friend to miss out on your holiday, these cottages have you covered. Whether you have just one dog or a few, each of these properties cater for up to three well-behaved pooches. With all having enclosed gardens there’s really no excuse for them to miss out on the holiday fun.

The Dale Cottage

Situated in beautiful Northumberland, The Dale Cottage is perfect for a family or group of friends. A large kitchen accommodates for those who like cooking but with Allendale less than a mile away there are plenty of eating options close by, ideal for after a long day discovering the magic of the surrounding area.

Take a day trip out to the historic city of Durham or Hexham town, or head to Newcastle for some retail therapy. If you want to get out to nature, this area has brilliant access to walking in the pristine countryside. Uncover the history of the romans during a walk along Hadrian’s Wall, or experience nature’s influence at High Force and Low Force waterfall, both of which are areas where dogs can roam. Come back to The Dale Cottage and relax in front of the open fire, or have a drink outside on the patio or in the garden.

Otters Holt

The Lake District is a dog walkers paradise. This exquisite cottage near Carlisle is a gateway to walks around the Cumbrian and Northumberland countryside. If you can draw yourself from the hot tub or the open fire, you’re just a short drive away from Keswick, the adventure capital of the UK. Here you can enjoy a stroll along the lake, or a more challenging walks up one of the nearby fells. Alternatively dip a toe into the magic of Scotland with a drive time of less than half an hour.

If you want to stay closer to home, Warwick Bridge is just a short walk away, where there is a lovely leisure club. Or, walk the dog down the lovely River Eden before cosying up at Otters Holt. If you want to be wined and dined for a night, Minehead is just a short drive away and home to many eateries.

This property, accessed by a small lane which leads to Bratton, has a distinctly remote feel while still remaining a good location to visit the local area. Head to the coast at Minehead and take a long stroll along the promenade, or take a trip back in history while visiting Dunster Castle. For some more serious walking drive out to Exmoor National Park, where you and your dogs can return to nature. This quaint cottage is a superb spot to relax, enjoy nature and experience a piece of history first-hand.

Viola Sea

Right on the tip of Cornwall is this amazing cottage that would easily accommodate for a family or a group of friends. Close to St. Just and with a pub just a short walk away, Viola Sea would make an excellent hub for exploring the local area. Less than 8 miles away from Penzance and the nearest town to Land’s End, there is endless amounts of coast line to explore. Gwenver beach is only 4 miles from St. Just and has no dog restrictions, great for long dog walks and picnics.

Take a trip to Cape Cornwall for it’s dramatic cliffs and seek out the nearby Bronze Age settlement. This all relies on being able to tear yourself away from Viola Sea itself.
