Chester Zoo is undoubtedly the most popular wildlife attraction in the UK.
Home to around 500 different species and 400 acres of land, there’s no surprise that this national hotspot welcomes almost two million visitors each year. But it’s not just the zoo’s rare animals and award-winning gardens which attract customers, it’s also the convenience!
Located just 15 minutes by car from Cheshire, this family favourite is in the perfect position for those planning a holiday nearby. For inspiration on where to stay, why not try some of the lodges below:

Bluebell Cottage in Frith
Around 15 miles from Chester Zoo, rests Bluebell Cottage.
This idyllic lodge is tucked away in the village of Frith near Brymbo and is roughly five miles from the city of Wrexham.
The cottage consists of a light and spacious living area, as well as two bedrooms and a jack-and-jill bathroom. Bluebell also has its own private entrance and no neighbours in sight, making it the ultimate getaway for those who prefer a quieter life.

Perhaps a little more entertaining (yet still just as informative), is a trip to The Racecourse Ground. Thanks to Hollywood star and Wrexham regular, Ryan Reynolds, ‘the world’s oldest international football stadium’ has garnered even more fame and fans of both the club and actor are welcome to take a tour around Wrexham AFC’s home pitch.
